Got a Pikachu when he was 10. Proceeded to beat/earn the respect of various Gym Leaders. And then he went into the Pokemon League. Not that he won. Lalala, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Battle Frontier (offered a job as a Frontier Leader...denied. LET'S TRAVEL! SEE THE SIGHTS follow Gary around ), Sinnoh! Met Paul. What a douche.
Real version forthcoming. maybe, it's 10 years or so. C'mon.

If you want to beat him you can:
...Get Pikachu away from him. Aaand...that's about it. He's a normal human. Who's been turned into stone. And constantly carries a 15 pound Pikachu on his shoulder. And once a Hippopatas on his head. And has the power of aura.... which is only brought up twice.
...Not so normal after all. But easy enough to defeat.
He does seem oddly resistant to things that would kill a normal 10 year old though. Flamethrowers, fairly high drops, Thunderbolts to the face, jumping off of cliffs, having a Gible chew on his head. Things that happen in the Pokemon world.

For the sake of my sanity Gym Badges do exactly what they do in the games. Get Pokemon who you've traded to obey you. And Ash has been on his journey for so long he must have aged, since um...somebody did mention a year going by. So he's at the very least 11. I'll go with around 13-14 cause there's no way he stayed 10 for that long.
- Has crossed dressed three times. Once to get into a gym, once to help out a random character of the day trainer, and once to help out a shop.
- Never says no to helping out. No matter how dumb it might be for him to. He's helped out Team Rocket with their Pokemon once or twice, and he said yes to wearing a dress with frills to help some people out.
- Has met a legendary from every one of the regions he's been to.
- Woe unto you if you mistreat a Pokemon in his presence.
- Has the power of ~Aura~ but hasn't been trained for it. (mentioned all of twice)
- First kiss was from Latias in it's human form.
- Has managed to survive more than any normal 10 year old could.
- Has been turned into stone before.
- Saved the world! ...Kind of...often, actually.
- If Ash was a Pokemon his ability would be Oblivious (Or Super Luck).
- Has been turned into a Pikachu before!

Uh...Possibly Made of Iron. He did survive being burnt to a crisp and being shocked. Repeatedly. He was stone for a short period of time, but that was about...nine years ago. Time traveled before. Went into the Distortion World. Knows a lot of legendaries. What is his life?

- Dawn: Coordinator and a good friend. She's here now! And...is talking about the league. Aaaaahhh, no spoilers.

What a douche.Rival in the Sinnoh region. There's a very strong dislike for how he treats his Pokemon. Just...why? Recently lost to him in a full battle. He's still getting over it. Slowly. Other than that Ash does respect the guy. - Gary Oak: Sometime friend, sometimes rival, long time childhood friend.
- May: Coordinator, good friend. Gym leader's daughter. Not currently traveling together.
- Misty: Currently a gym leader. Good friends, not currently traveling together. IS HERE! =D It's good to see her again.
- Team Rocket: In general he doesn't like them, but... they're so bad at what they do that when they ask him for help for something non...evil, he'll help them out.
- Jesse: Urgh, would rather avoid.
- James: Well...better than Jesse. Actually kind of nice when TR's not being... TR.
- Meowth: Talking Pokemon. Would like them all to stop chasing after him please. =\
