Officially known as "To The Nines", as that's what the plaque on the door says, Barney Stinson had this room built at the start of 2010 to serve as a meeting spot for his pet project, the Awesomeness Committee. It's modeled largely after his favorite cigar bar back home in New York, so those on the Committee who wish to treat it as a bar of sorts are more than welcome.

It was originally on the ninth floor (hence the name), but the castle remodel in late 2011 moved it to the 7th floor. So far, he's kept the name as a sort of exercise in modernism. You know. Like that painting of the pipe that says it's not a pipe.

To The Nines Edit

Access is not restricted, per se, but any non-Committee member who tries to go behind the bar, into the humidors, or use any of the resources therein will find themselves restricted by some sort of unseen, castle-governed force. After such an attempt, a small card will appear on a silver tray that says "Sorry, bro. Want in? Join the Awesomeness Committee. See Barney Stinson for further details" in fancy script.

Main Area Edit

The ceiling is higher than your standard castle room, with the walls done up in dark, sophisticated wood paneling and tasteful wallpaper. Most of the windows are stained glass, so that they let enough light and atmosphere in, but people don't have to look outside and constantly be reminded that HEY, they're inside a magical crazy castle of weird. The atmosphere overall is one of elegance, taste, and a touch of pretentiousness. After all, anyone who Barney's given the word to on this place is sufficiently Awesome to appreciate it. There isn't a single surface in this space that isn't insanely comfortable, from the couches to the leather-studded armchairs. There are a few tables strewn around with decks of cards, small magic tricks, and other things for people to fiddle with and cultivate their awesomeness. On a table, near the entrance, instead of a guest book, there is a beautifully leather-bound copy of Barney's Bro Code, for handy and easy reference.

The Bar Edit

The bar's kept well-stocked at all times (which is a hell of a feat considering some Committee members), but there's no staff, so you'll have to mix your own drinks. Ianto has also installed a bank of state-of-the-art coffee-making machines, some of which are ridiculously complicated. Barney suggests just leaving the coffee-making to Ianto, since he's pretty much the best at it there ever was. The Nines also has its own special blend invented JUST for Awesomeness Committee Members: a dark roast with a hint of bourbon.

Awesomeness Alcove/Humidors Edit

Set off to the side, sectioned off by a very wide entrance-way so that it's still visible but retains a sort of exclusive, secluded feel, is a bank of couches and chairs kept solely for Committee Planning Purposes. Which, in Barney's world, translates to "Sitting around and being awesome", but the mun digresses. There's a bank of private humidors along the back wall, so any cigar aficionados in the castle can keep their stashes there.
