"....I don't give a damn about your pride. How long do you intend to shame yourself like that? ....You, my double who's been granted the same blue hair as me.... how long do you intend to hang there pierced through like that....? I guess I'll just have to descend myself...."

Added by Chief Auto PartsBernkastel is a traveler: she wanders the billions of kakera, worlds, never staying in one place for long. She's the highest caliber of witch, whose powers are not restricted in time or place. She is the Witch of Miracles, who has lived for thousands of years.
Bernkastel can visualize such immaterial concepts as fate and possibility. And, with that and her magic, she can give rise to any kind of miracle imaginable. Specifically speaking, she can use her powers to "reset" any bad situation indefinitely until she gets the outcome she desires, so long as the probability for her desired outcome is not zero. With this power she was able to defeat Lambdadelta, who had been known as the Greatest Witch in the Universe, and took that title for herself.
At first glance, she appears to have been desensitized by her thousands of years wandering worlds. She rarely expresses emotions at first, and even her eyes seem cold, almost lifeless. She reacts to bemusement, jokes, hostility, and violence with the same eyes as she would greet an empty tea cup. She never acts the role of the child she appears to be on the outside. However, despite this, she seems to have a soft spot for those in a bad situation. She mentions she was in a bad situation herself before, and can't resist being drawn in and helping those with similar needs. Because of this, some might mistake her to be an ice queen with a heart buried underneath.
And that is the furthest thing from the truth.
"....I'd like to enjoy executions both old and new, from east and west every day."
That truth, one which she reveals only when her hand has been forced or when there is no need to disguise it, is that any attempts to help others are only to strive off the eternal enemy of "boredom." She is willing to use others, kill others, even torturing them physically and mentally, for her own amusement. Even the people she "helps" are only pawns to stave off boredom, something to test her powers on, and when they are no longer needed, they are discarded like trash. And that's if they're lucky. If she decides they still possess some ability to amuse her, she won't think twice about using them and their lives in the worst ways imaginable.
Her true personality is as cruel, wicked, and twisted as they come. She cares only for her own amusement, and can never be trusted because of it, even when working towards the same goal. Although it's those traits that her fellow witch, Lambdadelta, recognizes and admires in her. According to Lambdadelta, those are the traits that any "true witch" must have, and is most probably why it almost seems as if Lambdadelta has a crush on Bernkastel at some times.
"I wonder what their faces will look like... as they lose all hope. *giggle* I can't wait. Call for me when that happens, I'll come to watch, with some of the best black tea and dried plums."
powers and abilities

"....But if you believe, a miracle can happen."

Added by Chief Auto PartsBernkastel is currently known as the strongest witch in the universe. In a universe where witches can bring the dead back to life, create unbreakable shields and unstoppable swords, and kill in a million different ways, that is saying a lot. In other words, Bernkastel's power is immeasurable. The full extent of her powers isn't revealed in canon, but so far, she's shown the ability to perform the following.
-
- ♦ Magic of Miracles ♦ Bernkastel's magic can be used to indefinitely reset a bad situation, so long as there is a possibility of success. However, "success" doesn't have to be defined as a "happy ending." Rather, it's simply the outcome Bernkastel desires. If she desires the suffering of a certain somebody, she can reset their life until their situation is the peak fo despair. That is the power of Bernkastel's magic, the magic that enabled her to defeat Lambdadelta, the Witch of Certainty. It's the power to ensure that a miracle happens. Or the power to make sure a miracle is always denied.
-
- ♦ Time Alteration ♦ It's unknown if this is specifically due to her Magic of Miracles, but Bernkastel possesses the ability to step into the future, manipulate events that have not even happened, and presumably see into the future as well. This enables her to ensure that events yet to happen occur the way she wishes, among other things. This is the price she paid upon entering Paradisa.
- ♦ Red Truth ♦ As a witch, Bernkastel has the power to declare a statement using the Red Truth/Red Text to show that it is undeniably the truth. Something declared in red is simply the truth, without the need for further support. If somebody attempts to speak the Red Truth and it is not true, they will either find themselves unable to speak it or in physical pain.
- ♦ Traveling Worlds ♦ Bernkastel is a rank higher than a normal witch. As a Voyager, she wanders the millions of worlds, or kakera, seeing different possibilities and settings. In Paradisa, this ability is null and void.
- ♦ Create a Gameboard ♦ A "game board" is just as it sounds, and at the same time much more. Witches play their own games, but they play with the lives of humans. A traditional game board is a section of time and space separated from the rest of the world, allowing events to repeat endlessly until a specific condition for victory on one side is achieved. For example, a section of town might become a gameboard of Bernkastel's, wherein a series of murders over a week occurs over and over until the killer is found. The fate of every person within the gameboard is under the whims of the Game Master; their every action, thought, and emotion.
- ♦ Create a Piece ♦ Bernkastel can create pieces for her games in a variety of ways. Giving apparent life to a corpse, forcing others to do her bidding in exchange for a miracle, or simply summoning them are all methods she has employed in the past. Other witches use pieces, certainly, but Bernkastel seems to delight in forcing others to do her work for her.
- ♦ Furniture ♦ Related to the creation of pieces, furniture are basically servants created to serve a witch. The difference is the power a furniture holds: a piece is basically a pawn of the chessmaster, and furniture are simply servants. The strength available to furniture is directly proportional to the power of the witch, so Bernkastel can summon truly amazing furniture. In general, though, she prefers to craft her own pieces, bestowing them little or no power and simply making them do her bidding. She's too hardcore to need genuine furniture.
- ♦ Manifesting the Meta-World ♦ The Meta-World, as it's known but never specifically named, is simply a plane used for the observation of the normal plane. Within it, time can flow at the whims of those observing, stoppingtime in the real world for them to examine a scene or talk amongst themselves. As a witch, Bernkastel can still affect the real world from there, but in general it is simply a place to observe the happenings of the castle where she can not be observed in return.
- ♦ General Magic ♦ Like all witches, Bernkastel has the power to make the impossible occur. This covers a wide variety of powers, from repairing a broken vase to making a thousand pound cake fall from the sky. To put it simply, she has the power to materialize her desires.
- ♦ Weapons ♦ Witches don't fight with swords and shields, they wage battles with unbreakable spears of the gods and towers of cannons that rise from the ground. This is another power of a witch.
MORE TO COME AS... SHIT GETS REAL
"....I'd like to think of some execution methods myself... Pondering that will be the perfect way to relax on those sleepless nights."
