The alliance of magic users was envisaged and started by Felix Harrowgate about a month after his arrival in Paradisa. Partially it is an effort to satisfy in nearly inexaustable curiosity when it comes to magic, but he was also inspired by other residents who motivated him to spend his time doing something worthwhile for all those stuck in the castle and elsewhere.

CHIMERA Edit

The name Felix settled on for this organization is something of an oddity. Privately it is a tribute to his home, whose magical seat of government primarily held court in an area called the Hall of Chimeras, so named for the images on it's mosaic floor. Publicly the name is symbolic for the three different areas to which they are dedicated.

PurposeEdit

1. To Research the magic of the various worlds represented in Paradisa, to understand how each functions, and perhaps discover if there is a unifying theory that connects them all
2. To Research both the native magic of Paradisa and that of the castle
3. To use magic to defend the residents, either from the effects of world changes or other outside threats

Layout Edit

The entrance to the headquarters is in room 1919 at the top floor of the Gaudium Tower. The inside is much larger than a normal residence however. It open up into a circular parlor. The floor is decorated with an elaborate mosaic pattern, including prominent representations of the council's namesake - the Chimera.

There are doors to either side leading to the offices and research spaces. To the back is a large pair of french doors opening out into a small balcony. The balcony itself is sparsely decorated with potted plants and a few chairs, but the main feature is a high-powered telescope that can be used for celestial observation.

The right door opens up into the offices. This is actually just one large study decorated in Old World style with plain tan walls but rich wood furniture. One wall in dominated with bookcases (though it make some time for books to fill them up). There are chairs are low tables near them for casual reading. The rest of the room is taken up by several large heavy wooden desks.

The leftmost door leads to a short hallway. There are a number of rooms here set out for different kinds of magical research, mostly to give the members space, and also to prevent any possible contimination from different types of magic being used in the same spot. Each room has been appropriatly warded with this in mind to keep any effects from spreading outwards. For the most part each room is multipurpose and is open to adjustment by whatever member uses it the most, however one room is especially set up as a lab for potions and alchemical studies.
