HistoryEdit

Caterina was born the illegitimate child of Pope Gregrio and Lucrezia Sforza. Her biological father wanted nothing to do with her though. She was raised instead by her mother and the Duke of Milan, who raised her as his own daughter. Her childhood was peaceful and happy thanks to the Duke of Milan’s kindness. Sadly this would not last.

When Caterina was twelve years old, her home was invaded by vampire assassins sent by the Orden. Everyone in her family was murdered before her very eyes. In the chaos, Caterina somehow managed to escape. She ran for the only safe place in Milan; the Dark Saint’s tomb. Inside she found Abel Nightroad mourning the loss of Saint Lilith. There was not any time for introductions though. The assassins arrived in just after Caterina.

Abel engaged them before they had the chance to harm Caterina. The young girl watched on as he defeated them one by one all in the form on a dark angel. Once he was finished, he told young Caterina that he had to protect humans so he would help her. Caterina took his hand and vowed that they would fight together.

From that day on, they remained at each other’s side. Abel followed her through college and became her subordinate when she became a Cardinal at the age of nineteen. Along the way they met people who would all become a part of Caterina’s group, AX. This group she uses to fight against her greatest enemy; Rosenkruetz Orden and bring peace to their world.

PersonalityEdit

Caterina is a strong. This quality is recognized to the point she has been dubbed the ‘Iron Lady’ or ‘Woman of Steel’ in the Vatican. This strength makes her a natural choice to be one of the highest ranked officials in the Vatican. This is not a role she takes lightly. She has proven herself to be very dedicated church official. On more than one occasion when it was a choice between her life and what was best for the Pope and the church, she chose the later without hesitation.

Despite this, Caterina is known, in most cases rumored, to commit acts not approved by her clergymen. This is not out of disloyalty. Caterina will often act in such a way to preserve the Vatican’s image to the outside world. However, it is not only her loyalty that compels her to do so. Caterina is a vengeful woman. She is out to make the ones who murdered her family, the Orden, pay. In order to do so, she needs the world to see the Vatican in a light that can win allies against them.

In her quest for revenge, she is determined. She will sacrifice anyone to destroy them. Even the little brother she adored was not spared. She forced him to become Pope in order to secure herself the powerful position she holds today. Caterina is fully aware of what she is doing. She lives in deep regret with what she has done shown by her referring to herself as an awful woman in private.

Although she says this, her actions have contradicted her on many occasions. She has saved many of her agents from hopeless situations by giving them a new life serving her, one of the finest examples being Tres Iqus. It is not strange to see her reassuring her little brother when they are together or holding him when he’s scared or in danger. She has covered up actions of her agents who she felt were doing the right thing at the time (after yelling at them of course).

Caterina is a very human character; neither angel nor devil. She tries to do the right thing by the Vatican and her loved ones but, she is always haunted by the past. This sadly leads her to do many terrible things adding to her tragedy.

Canon relationships in ParadisaEdit

Abel Nightroad: Her best friend forever...really. He saved her as a child and basically grew up with her. The time they spent together when she was young and had not ascended to power is something Caterina will always hold dear to her heart. Sadly, she spent her adult years in a rather unhealthy one sided love with Abel due in large part to that peaceful time together. This love will later be the source of her downfall in canon. During her time in Paradisa she has overcome it to see the truth about Abel; he isn't her perfect white knight. She still loves him but, it's a much healthier relationship now and there is no lingering romantic feelings on Caterina's side. She is content to see him find happiness with the woman he truly loves while enjoying her own life in Paradisa, free from the illness that plagued her.

Tres Iqus: Her stalkerbot that Abel won't stop shipping her with. In Paradisa, Caterina has learned the extent of his "feelings" toward her thanks to the castle being fond of making Tres human. They have been through a lot of difficult things in Paradisa (in particular 02's attack on the two of them) and as a result they are closer than ever. Well...as close as you can be to a blank facing robot who follows you aroud everywhere.

Pope Alessandro XVIII: Beloved little brother!!! His weakness does frustrate her at times but, she loves him. Caterina would die for him without a moment's hesitation.

Lilith Sahl (Naia Sancta): Abel's soulmate. Caterina holds a great deal of respect for her. In Paradisa they are friends. Lilith has even given her the honor of being her Maid of Honor in the upcoming wedding.

Cain Knightlord (Contra Mundi): The man who had Caterina's family put to death. Caterina based most of her life on getting revenge on him for doing this. You can imagine her surprise when L.A. event rolls around and she finds out that he is just a man possessed by tiny evil machines. During her time with Cain in L.A. she came to like him as a person. Currently Cain is himself again much to Caterina's relief. Sadly before that happened 01 messed Caterina up. Crowley saved the day as usual.

Relationships in ParadisaEdit

Iroh: Conversational partner! Caterina respects him greatly.

Anthony Crowley: Knight in shining armor...? He's Caterina's secret hero. He healed her illness and rescued from the near fatal injuries Cain inflicted. As a result, he can do no wrong in her eyes.

Jillian (Jilly) Coppercorn: Alec's friend. Caterina respects her and enjoys her company.

Alucard: He helps her pick on Abel. She likes him. <3

York: One of Tres' buddies? He seems impressed by how much Caterina cares for Tres. Caterina is impressed that someone else views Tres as a person and not just an object.

Wisely: Stupid Noah who is gay for her robot.

Parker: Another person who views Tres as a person. She will always have bonus points in Caterina's pick.

Ganymede: A shut in who also got screwed by the gods. Caterina tries to help him when she can.

Hades (sent home): A god who screwed her over big tim during a loss. She's happy he's back at home.

Benten: An angry bird-demon thing. Somehow Caterina got stuck helping him when he showed up in Paradisa.

Peter: A friend of Abel's. She greatly enjoyed his company as a child.
