It is, but it's also quite dangerous. Once every four years, the queen's land of Gainos holds a battle tournament to determine who will rule for the next four years. Any lady aged 12 or older of any race may enter and any method of fighting may be used, including straight-up murder. Fighting can happen in team battles, one on one, free for alls, whatever the current queen desires. The last fight will be against the current queen and if she wins, her rule is extended another four years. It was originally founded by the gods and angels as a means of helping the mortals govern themselves.
Alleyne is a short, skinny, toned forest elf with pale skin. Like most elves, she has long, pointed, sensitive ears. Her eyes are blue, her hair is quite long and a silvery, platinum blonde. She has a long braid off to the left side of her face placed in front of her ear that goes down to her belly. On her head is a red beret cocked to the left with a green bit on top resembling a tomato vine with a gold band decorated with a four leafed clover motif. She has fancy green silk/leather camisole cut off under her chest, gloves that go to her elbows, boots that go to her knees, and a white cloth miniskirt with slits up front of both of her thighs held up with a gold belt with a four leaf clover motif, padding her backside, buckled with a fancy silver clover buckle, all with flared spikes in a leaf motif. Around her neck and flowing off her back is a red cape with gold trim, cut off into a set of two smaller spikes and then two larger ones, one of each on each side. She has a perpetually neutral or angry expression. She wears a thong hidden under her skirt that is made simply of thin vines and a couple leaves padding her crotch. We are not responsible for any beatings you receive for looking up at it.

Alleyne is the very definition of stoic and stubborn, never giving up on her ideals or goals with herself or others, always facing life with a stern, strong face. As her title implies, she is hard-working, strict, militant, tactical, logical, and as full of wisdom and knowledge as you would think one her age would be. She is incredibly worldwise and booksmart. She's known for spouting off adages, proverbs, and generally sounding like a fortune cookie as well as lecturing people and grading them on a scale of 0-100 on various things. Despite all this, she's a very fair and kind woman, and never seeks to hurt too much. Very much a lover of tough love.
She rarely allows herself to show emotions beyond what her constant linefacing would suggest and has her heart very well guarded. A bit afraid of love or closeness due to her past, she regards such emotions as weakness inside her and tries not to get to attached to people on a very deep, interpersonal, or even romantic level. It has been known to happen, but only once or twice, and each time ended sadly so she further distances herself from such due to this. She also has a low tolerance for laziness, shenanigans, and sexual perversions. Creepers beware.
If you can make it past her frosty exterior, she's a very strong ally, and will be loyal and caring to you in her own special ways. She'd be good to talk to about battle, life, race relations, strategy/tactics, philosophy, and anything around these areas.
If her having had a pet monkey at some point is any indication, she's a stereotypical elf in the sense of she's good with animals.
Her loss means she has lost all progress she has made in becoming more okay with her feelings and accepting them, making her more cranky than usual.

Alleyne excels in long to mid range combat using a double headed spear and bolas, preferring to use her dexterity and cunning to her advantage before trying to engage in close range combat. She is quite adept at all ranges and able to take even the most tricky or underhanded of opponents down, but falls quickly when her allies' lives are at stake. If in a forest of other dense area, she can use the space to hide and move quickly, leaping from ground to treetop in one leap and moving quick as the wind. Alleyne is also good working on a team, although prefers to be with people she can trust and the fewer, the better. She is not reckless and can be quite calculating and surprising in her tactics. She's also been known to use logs moving down rivers, loose vines, and other bits of scenery to her advantage. Alleyne is also a master of the badass air flip and insane twirling maneuvers commonly seen in elves and other quick footed peoples.
She can sense magic and auras a very slight bit but has no magical aptitude herself as of this time. Magic in her world is usually used by other races of imbued into people by living weapons or other such artifacts. It is unknown if she can come to use magic naturally, but she will know how to fight against it.
Alleyne also has the ability to make healing medicines and ointments out of plants. The quality depends on the plant, but they are usually as high of quality as can be made with her given ingredients. They're quite good for stopping wounds from bleeding and to close them up and heal faster, but her supply is limited by how much she can usually fit in the small pouch on her belt and how much free time she has to make any.
Special Abilities
Eagle Talon - Using her spear as leverage, Alleyne throws herself knees/elbows first into the opponent from high above, as an eagle would to its prey.
Hurricane Fury - Exactly as it sounds, a burst of very fast and hard spear blows placed all around the opponent's body, battering them senseless, combined with a minor energy burst capable of opening up even the worst and thickest of plants or trees.
Tornado Strike - Alleyne sticks her spear in the ground and uses it to twirl horizontally, throwing herself feet first into her opponent.
What To Expect From Her As A Combat InstructorEdit
If you want to train with her, expect harshness. Expect to be graded, expect to be exhausted. Training will be outdoors in a variety of terrain and will be hand-to-hand. Bring whatever you want and try not to hold back. She would be interested in seeing new styles and unusual weapons as well.
She specializes in training women and youth, who for purposes of Paradisa, will be those aged the equivalent of 21 or younger in human years. Anyone can train with her, but those looking for more specialized combat pertaining to her skills or looking for a more woman or kid-friendly instructor would do well choosing her.

Alleyne is one of those characters that didn't get enough screentime or enough facetime in any of the book supplements, so not much is known about her life. She had to deal with a war with humans when they tried to invade and enslave the elves, making her tribe become cut off and xenophobic. She's been a combat teacher as long as anyone can remember. She came to know Echidna at one point, fell out with her, came to know Nowa, adored her, had to let her go. She participated in the Queen's Blade during the rule of Twilight Queen Aldra with Nowa, losing to Echidna and Assassin of the Fang Irma, who had used disgusting underhanded tactics to ensure their victory. Alleyne forfeited to save Nowa's life, realizing that was more important than any title. The two parted ways sadly on the way back home.

In an official high school AU OVA series, she was everyone's PE teacher. Not much of a difference really.
Arrived on February 6th, 2011 our time, has been a cranky butt ever since. Is open to meeting fighters and soldiers of allkinds, for sparring or to train and teach. She will be harsh, so make sure your character can handle it.
Currently mastering kitchen appliances and enjoying making messy stews and coffee.

1st Loss: March 28th - April 10th "Rapper's Delight" During this time, Alleyne believed she was a rapper named DJ Sunberry and spoke only in rhymed raps sung out loud in person or over the journal. Her language was far more coarse than she'd like to admit and she was a bit more in your face than usual, but her core teacher's personality remained largely intact. Did not remember much of it at all upon snapping out of it.
2nd Loss: (Find Dates) "Bones Loss"During this time, Alleyne and a group of others were lead to believe they had lived their whole lives as other occupations and grown up together. Then murder happens! In cold blood! Then they have to solve it! Because Alleyne was a hard-ass no-nonsense by the books cop with a tiny hilarious car. She ticketed people randomly. Based on an Episode of Bones.
Forest Watchman Nowa - Quite possibly the most important person Alleyne has known to date, and the cause of her intense loss in Paradisa. Nowa was an orphaned half-elf child, the product of an affair between a human and an elf, neither of the two races wanting anything to do with her and her half blood due to fanatical racism. When Alleyne saw her lost and crying in her neck of the woods, she appeared before her, handing her a quarterstaff and saying if she was willing to train under her, she could become strong and show both races that blood matters not, it's character that defines you.
Even as the two trained and became closer, the elven elders would not accept her fully, using and abusing her for all the crap errands the tribe would have to deal with. Alleyne would constantly fight for her, always losing, her position in the tribe valued but not high enough to sway them to treat her better. When Nowa was forced to fight in the Queen's Blade for allowing a human entrance to the forest, Alleyne had enough of the elders' bullshit and snuck off to be with her.
It wasn't until the two had lost trying to claim the throne that Alleyne realized just how much Nowa had changed her and how deep and strongly she felt for her. There was a bond, and possibly love between them. Nowa admired her like nobody else and it finally desfrosted her. Nowa even went so far as to save Alleyne from Mistress of Flames Nyx and her living tentacle staff Funikura. Unfortunately, just as Alleyne was able to admit these things to herself and get ready to tell Nowa, they parted ways. Nowa had to go and be free, away from the racism, and Alleyne understood, accepting Nowa's gift of a memory stone and holding it dear, knowing the two might cross paths again.
It was after this Alleyne wound up in Paradisa, with no recollection of any of the bond Nowa and her had. To her now, Nowa was just someone she trained as normal as anyone else.
Veteran Mercenary Echidna - A younger forest elf of about five hundred years age with a much more wild and perverted personality than Alleyne. Not much is known about their time together, but it is implied they may have been dating or lovers in some capacity for a while, or were merely just good close friends. The two got into an argument one day about their views on the laws of the forest, causing Echidna to leave and became a wandering mercenary, never returning to the forest. Alleyne has rarely spoken to her since.
Their falling out has left to some deep seated anger and mistrust with herself, which lead to some of her being so guarded about her heart. Echidna has less hard feelings about this, taking to teasing Alleyne about being old and unwilling to accept her romantic and sexual notions, going so far as to call her a 'tight legged virgin' while Alleyne is much more harsh and almost ready to attack her on site if they cross paths.
Ruu - A small, very intelligent, loving pink pet monkey that belonged to Alleyne for a while, whom she gave to Nowa to keep an eye on her with and keep her company. He was small enough to fit on Alleyne's shoulder. Has an unusual ability to stretch himself out and deflect physical attacks without harm befalling him.

Is actually a very, very pro volleyball player, known to ruin balls (or fruit as it's played with in her world) on the first serve, hitting it strong enough to rend the clothing of her opponents.
Likes to drink saruzake/mashirazake [ 猿酒 / さるざけ / ましらざけ ] (lit. monkey-booze) An alcoholic drink made from the fermenting leftovers of fruit left in trees/rock hollows by monkeys who had been hoarding it.
Is apparently a virgin still at her age. At least that's what Echidna claims.
