BIRTHDATE: December 3, 1995

LOSS: The pendant he gave to Dave, which is what Dave uses to summon him with once he passes the first gate, as sprites are not able to accompany the player after that point. He eventually used this to release himself after defending Dave in the Crocodile Temple. Despite the fact that he (and Dave, since Dave pretty much gave it to him anyway) doesn't need it anymore, he still keeps it with him after releasing himself, wearing it to the duel between Jack Noir and Bro. It has a hell of a lot of sentimental value as it's really the only thing that connects him to Dave.

To put it simply: there is no Davesprite without Dave - they are pretty much the same person, barring the fact that Davesprite is actually a future Dave (about four months ahead) from a doomed timeline. See, from where he was before reversing, John and Jade were dead, which left him alone with Rose to fend for themselves. With half the players gone, their session was basically lost and the only way it could be salvaged would be for Dave to travel back in time to make things right. Of course, doing that would also mean killing him and Future Rose, only hanging onto the comfort that they'd be able to survive in the alpha timeline. Because of this, it's safe to say that Davesprite doesn't hesitate to lay his life down for his friends if it means ensuring their safety.

Being stuck in the doomed timeline made him grow up considerably, not just physically, but mentally as well. Being one of the only two people in the universe, he became a lot more independent in terms of learning to trust himself and his abilities; no one else understands the nuances of time better than he does, after all. He could no longer rely on Bro or another of his future selves to save him when he fucked up (because in some ways, he did), he had to learn to start being careful and covering his ass every step of the way to make things right. It also made him a lot more serious and almost borderline cynical - while Rose still seems to hold onto hope that Jade might be alive, it seems that he had come to terms with it a while ago, saying that because she couldn't get into the medium before the meteor hit, her death was unavoidable.

Though he may seem blasé about it at first (because let's face it, older or not, he's still Dave underneath it all), it's obviously had a negative effect on him. However, his time with Future Rose has gotten him to open up more in terms of being honest with himself and others because when you're one of the only two survivors of a meteoric apocalypse, irony seems pretty pointless. He had pretty much lost almost everything that was important to him, keeping up his image was the last thing on his to-do list. It's obvious in his conversation with Future Rose: there's no constant verbal sparring anymore, just the plain honesty and care and worry you get when it's the end of the world and you've got no one but one of your best friends and an annoying as fuck puppet sprite to keep you company.

While it could be said that all he did was just reverse himself back to the past and the doomed timeline ceased to exist, it's so much more than that. Not only did the process technically kill himself, Future Rose and everything else, he ended up prototyping himself with Dave's crow sprite; which turned him into a glowy, feathery ghost thing with a sword through his chest and a shitton of new power and knowledge about the game. He did it all without a second of hesitation, just boom - get there, unload all his loot in front of Dave and then back flip into the sprite. His devotion to his friends is clear at this point and he wastes no time getting on pesterchum immediately afterward to tell Terezi to step off. It's easy to say he's the white knight of the game (which is true, considering most of the stuff he did before he died) and he doesn't seem to refute it. The most important thing to him is making things right and making sure they survive; it's something he'd spent four months preparing for and he'd be damned if he lets the same mistake happen twice.

To make a long story short, Davesprite is basically Dave. Plus a lot of feathers, all the levels, maturity, and self-confidence but minus most of the stoicness and irony. Ask him anything, he'll give you a straight answer.
