Death the Kid, just Kid to his friends, is the son of Shinigami, also known as Death (the Grim Reaper of Western legend.) Because of this, he is also considered a death god himself, making his natural abilities outshine those of his fellow students. Not much is known about his past in general, other than he was raised in a large mansion and carried out the work of destroying corrupt souls.
Sometime during his past, he heard the rumor of the Thompson sisters, two criminal sisters in Brooklyn who made a living off of mugging and similar criminal activities. More to Kid's interest, they both possessed weapon blood that allowed them to turn into a matching pair of .38 caliber pistols. He tracked them down and convinced them to become his weapons for the sake of symmetry. It's said that, as a Shinigami, he doesn't need to make his own weapons, but Kid insists upon doing it himself.
And then, after some time passed, Kid enrolled himself into Shibusen, the school for weapon technicians (Meisters) and their weapons due to some extraordinary circumstances. Then some other crap happens. Go read the manga.
PersonalityEdit
Kid suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder, which is represented as a complete obsession about everything being symmetrical. To him, anything symmetrical is beautiful and if something is off by even the slightest measurement he will try to correct it right away. While Kid himself tries to look as symmetrical as possible, his hair causes him problems as one side is completely black while the other has three white strips going across it. Showing him anything that is too asymmetrical or mentioning his hair will send Kid into a state of massive depression, make him feel ill, or cause him to cough up blood and faint in the most extreme of cases. This behavior sometimes results in Kid being unable to fight because he is distracted by his enemy's symmetry or by the lack of symmetry in his surroundings. When this happens it usually requires some encouragement from Patty or Liz to get Kid to focus again.
Besides that, Kid is usually fairly serious, more mature than his peers in most cases, but he still enjoys their company. Still, he can get excited (and by more than symmetry) or angry if provoked. He's fairly dedicated to his friends, as well as the ideals of justice.
Canon RelationshipsEdit
Liz: The older of the Thompson sisters, who has a smaller bust than her little sister for some reason. The more mature of the two by a long shot as well. Kid admires her positive personality, and their mutual admiration for each other is why she's compatible as his weapon. He cares more for her than his own life, as seen when he immediately tosses her aside to save her from Eibon's Book.
Patty: The younger of the Thompson sisters, who has a larger bust than her older sister for some reason. She often behaves like a little kid, even though she isn't one. Still, Kid admires her positive personality, and their mutual admiration for each other is why she's compatible as his weapon. He cares more for her than his own life, as seen when he immediately tosses her aside to save her from Eibon's Book.
Maka: One of his friends, a bookworm girl who he's known since his transfer to Shibusen. He enjoys hanging out with her, as their personalities are generally compatible. She's also a very capable Meister, and he has full confidence in her abilities.
Soul: Maka's weapon, a scythe. Kid respects him and considers him a friend, but at the same time he's one of the ones who can push his buttons if he tries. They first met in a fight (Kid won, but his hair got cut and he collapsed due to lack of symmetry.)
Black☆Star: A friend that pisses off Kid sometimes. Still, capable in a fight... He really pisses off Kid sometimes. Recently, though, he's started to act strange, and Kid's worried about him.
Tsubaki: Black☆Star's weapon, capable of changing into various ninja tools. Also a friend. Kid finds her personality much more agreeable than her wielder's.
Shinigami: Kid calls him "honorable father." He is Kid's father, but at the same time, he's the god of death, and Kid has respect for him in that position. Still, he's been known to hide things from Kid because of his position, and Kid doesn't like that.
Kilik Lunge: A fellow Shibusen student, and a gifted fighter. They worked together in the operation to seize Brew, and then on the operation to seize Arachne's castle.
Pot of Thunder: One of Kilik's weapons, a little girl (?) that's an earth shaman.
Pot of Fire: One of Kilik's weapons, a little girl (?) that's an earth shaman.
Ox Ford A fellow Shibusen student, one of the top students and a good fighter. Seems to have a crush on Kim.
Harvar D. Éclair: Ox's weapon, a spear. He wields lightning. Kid doesn't have much of an opinion on him.
Kim Diehl: A fellow Shibusen student and a witch. She's currently fled Shibusen and joined Arachnophobia under the impression that she would be persecuted, though Shibusen and Kid had every intention to listening to her side of the story.
Jacqueline O. Lantern Dupré: Kim's weapon, a lantern. Although she wouldn't have been held accountable even if Kim were, she chose to flee with her friend and partner.
Crona: The child of Medusa, a girl (?) who was attempting to become a Kishin. Kid fought her once, but let her escape. Since then, she's become a friend... but was manipulated by Medusa into switching sides again.
Ashura: The "Kishin," or demon god. His power is on par with his father's, even when weakened. He had been sealed below Shibusen until he was released, and now his Wavelength of Insanity is affecting the entire world. He is Shibusen's, and Kid's, ultimate enemy.
Medusa: The witch who released the Kishin. An incredibly powerful opponent, to be sure, but more than that, an extremely crafty one. Even when seeming to be on their side, Kid doesn't trust her in the least.
Arachne: A witch known as the "Heretic Witch" 800 years ago. Recently came back and is threatening the world with her organization, Arachnophobia. Kid was on a mission to defeat her before arriving at Paradisa.

Soul PerceptionEdit
One of the key skills of a Meister is the ability of Soul Perception. Kid, while not on the level of Joe or Maka, is still on par with a level 3 technician in the use of this ability.
As it sounds, this is the ability to see, or "perceive," souls. This isn't mind-reading, soul-delving, or anything like that; it is literally seeing a soul. In addition, he has a sixth sense for detecting the presence of souls that extends beyond sight.
With just the "feel" of a soul, using nothing but this sixth sense, he can gauge:
- A soul's strength
- What kind of soul it is (human, vampire, monkey, witch, etc.)
- Approximate age of the soul
- Proximity and direction
By looking at a soul directly, he can see all of the above in greater detail, as well as:
- Personality (in general terms)
- Abilities (very vaguely; a soul often takes the shape of a prominent ability)

Please note the examples above are all extraordinarily strong people, which is why their souls are so large. Normal souls are much smaller (about the size of a basketball.) Extremely haxx souls can be infinitely larger (his father's is larger than an entire city.)
BeelzebubEdit
Kid has a skateboard named Beelzebub. It is stored inside of him with his haxx death god powers.
Beelzebub isn't a normal skateboard, though. It's a flying skateboard. Kid often uses it for short-distance travel, though he's also been known to use it for longer distance travel if necessary, such as when he used it to fly across the Sahara.
God BodyEdit
Because Kid is a god of death, his body is different than normal people. Although he can be hurt, and presumably killed, normally, he is by nature stronger than normal people. He is shown to be unaffected by some things that normally affect the body, though, such as the interference of the storm surrounding Brew, because the very nature of his body is different. There's really no way to tell what may or may not affect him, though, so the player will decide on a case-by-case basis.
AbilitiesEdit
Kid normally fights using the twin pistols, Liz and Patty. Instead of firing bullets, they fire his soul wavelength directly. He refuses to only use one because of symmetry.
However, even without Liz and Patty, he can still fight using martial arts. His preferred method involves fighting with a variety of chops, hammer blows, and kicks while taking various stances. In a fight, he's strong enough to take on Black☆Star, one of Shibusen's top students in combat, and win. Physically, he's strong enough to break concrete with a kick.
Kid's abilities are extraordinarily increased if his Lines of Sanzu are connected. However, the only time this has happened is when Brew activated to increase his soul wavelength. With only a single line connected, he was able to reattach a severed arm, increase the caliber of his weapons through his soul wavelength, and shoot down eight thousand bats at once.
