"I have already killed too much for me to obtain everyday happiness."

HistoryEdit

Evangeline, at a younger age, became the ward of a castle lord in Europe during the Middle Ages' Hundred Years' War (1337–1453), although it is not known if she was royalty or not. When she awoke on her tenth birthday, she found she had been turned into a vampire while she slept. She almost immediately fell victim to her newly-acquired instincts and, before she realized what she was doing, fed on an unfortunate castle occupant. This would lead to her quickly leaving the castle and running off into a snowy landscape before anyone could find the victim's body. Initially she had the customary weakness of a vampire towards sunlight and so on that she learned to overcome, becoming a "high daylight walker." She developed her magical powers in order to get revenge on the man who turned her, whom she later killed. She was initially forced to lead an itinerant life since she could not hide the fact that her body no longer aged, though she shows she can disguise herself as a much more physically mature version of herself later. Her reputation as a legendary evil mage grows to such an extent that her name is synonymous with the boogie man in the modern magical realm. This is quite aptly demonstrated by Anya Cocolova when she first meets Evangeline.

Little more is known about her history until more recent times when she was saved by the Thousand Master, then pursued him mercilessly out of love thereafter until he managed to shake her off. Feeling rejected, she finally tracked him down in Japan, but was tricked into walking into an "anti-vampire soup" composed of garlic and leeks. Employing the powerful Infernus Scholasticus (School Hell) curse, the Thousand Master confined her to the grounds of Mahora Academy and put in place a barrier to restrict her abilities. He claimed that Eva should try to "live in the light for a change," and promised her that he would free her from the curse when she graduated. Unfortunately, five years later, he "died," thus her chance of being free from the curse was gone until his son Negi came. Konoemon Konoe, the School Dean, employed her as a security guard, personally keeping him informed about events occurring in the school.

Her personality shines through

PersonalityEdit

Evangeline is the only Caucasian girl in the class. Although her body stopped aging at age 10, she is over 500 years old (and thus has the habit of referring to herself as old.) A cold and devilish little girl, she is actually a hunted witch and vampire. She once had a six-hundred million dollar bounty on her head, with nicknames such as "Dark Evangel," "Doll Master," "Maga Nosferatu," and others. She rarely says much normally, and anything she says tends to lean towards being evil. Despite being an evil vampire, she does have a softer side that is rarely shown. She is known to partake in both go and tea ceremony out of enjoyment. She has two Ministra Magi, Chachazero and Chachamaru. She is also easily bored when times are peaceful and is frustrated by most of her classmates' attitudes. She dresses in a Gothic Lolita style.

Canon RelationshipsEdit

Nagi: The Thousand Master. An irresponsible vagrant mage who's dumber than his stories give him credit for. She's also in love with him and is currently depressed over his departure from Paradisa.
Negi: Her student and Nagi's son. He's a good kid and a good pupil. She worries about him, though she tries to hide it.
Chachamaru: Her Ministra Magi, a robot invented by Hayase. She's run off of Eva's magic. She's loyal and useful. Eva cares for her too. Her newest thing is to make fun of her robot's crush on Negi.

AbilitiesEdit

"All that lives must face death! I'll bring you that peace!"

Notes for InteractionEdit

  • Anybody who can sense power will find an incredibly high amount in Evangeline. Her vampiric power is huge; she is a high daylight walker and arguably the most powerful vampire in her world. In addition, she possesses an insanely high amount of magical power as well. Her magical power is, frankly, insane.
  • She looks the same as she did in life as she was turned; a small ten year old girl. Usually able to hide this with glamour and illusions, that ability was robbed by the castle.
  • Evangeline is a "Shinso," a true vampire. In other words, she wasn't turned by another vampire. It's not clear what this exactly entails normally, though Evangeline was turned through black sorcery.

Ministra MagiEdit

  • A "Ministra Magi" is somebody whose duty it is to guard a mage during their casting. In a typical combat situation, they're to keep the enemy occupied at close range while the mage casts their powerful spells from a distance. Although more powerful mages (such as Evangeline) need Ministra Magi less as they grow in power, Evangeline is at heart still an artillery-style magical caster. She has two Ministra Magi back home.
    • Chachazero: A puppet animated through Evangeline's magic. She wields several knives, several larger than she is. She's extremely bloodthirsty and likely to complain about being bored or her master becoming soft if denied murder. The original Chachazero was left at home and the castle didn't seem to want to provide her with a new one, so Evangeline went ahead and made herself a replica. The replica has been introduced to what she should know from home via a memory-linking spell.
    • Chachamaru: A robot designed by a scientific genius, a scientific alien genius from the future, and Evangeline. She's powered by a nominal amount of magical power and a winding-spring system. Evangeline couldn't even hope to make another Chachamaru by herself. So Chachamaru remains back home.

Mundane AbilitiesEdit

  • She is a master of Aikido. Her skill is to the point that she can effortlessly take down world-class fighters, even completely devoid of all vampiric and magical ability. It's implied that she learned the creator himself, Morhei Ueshiba. "I picked it up from that old geezer when I came to Japan 80 years ago."
  • She can control people's movements with strings, just like a puppet. This is partially why her nickname "Puppet Master" exists. She can do this even when completely devoid of all vampiric and magical powers.

Vampiric AbilitiesEdit

  • She can recover from almost any wound. Even after being skewered by a stone spear, she was able to turn her body into bats and reform completely healed. Though she admits it's tiring, she also says a Shinso vampire cannot be hurt by physical means such as a sword or gun.
  • She can regain magical power by drinking the blood of a mage.
  • She can craft powerful glamour and illusions. The ability to use it on herself to appear older is what she lost from the castle.
  • She can control a person after drinking their blood. Her mind control is absolute.
  • She can fly without the aid of any item, though she has been shown to use a broom on occasion (though it's not needed.)
  • She can pull a person into a powerful illusion she has complete control of simply by looking into their eyes.
  • She is stronger and faster than a normal person.
  • Her senses are slightly better than a normal person's.

Magical AbilitiesEdit

  • Evangeline's magical specialties lie in ice and darkness based spells. She's shown to be incredibly powerful in this regard.
    • Her most powerful ice spell, Eternal Glacier/Cosmic Catastrophe, involves an incredible amount of magical power as it breaks the laws of thermodynamics and creates a 150-foot four-way absolute-zero field effect.
    • Despite this, she's been shown to possess full mastery of elements outside of her affinity, something very rare among mages. It showcases how much of a magical godmod she is in canon.
  • Her self-created forbidden spell, Maga Erabia, involves absorbing enough magic to level a city and converting it into raw power for the user.
  • She can use her magic to give life to dolls, a reason her title as "Doll Master" exists.
  • Along with her puppeteering ability, she can control up to 300 dolls over a 3 kilometer radius.
  • Evangeline has been shown to be able to do many more feats of immense magic-
    • In canon, she has an entire castle and countryside sealed inside of a glass ball. She transported it from Africa herself. Touching the ball brings you inside, where she can control everything up to the amount of magic in the air and 24 hours inside is only 1 hour outside. She later adds on entire mountainsides, tundra, deserts, and a sea for the sole purpose of training her pupil.
    • She created a scroll which contains a doppleganger of hers that can operate outside of her range of influence, even into other dimensions. The scroll also contains its own astral dimension that she, again, uses to train her pupil, though it's only the mind, not the body.

WeaknessesEdit

  • She used to possess the typical weaknesses of a vampire. However, over the years, she's grown immune to those, hence why she is known as a High Daylight Walker.
  • She possesses no weakness towards garlic. However, her hatred for garlic, leeks, and the like is so strong that it has, in fact, been used to defeat her in the past.
  • In short, she has no real weaknesses. However, her powers have been sealed before, but the lengths gone through to do so are practically unrepeatable.

StereotypesEdit

  • Sunlight doesn't harm her, though it used to.
  • Garlic doesn't harm or stop her, though she hates it enough that it might as well.
  • She can cross any threshold without an invitation, including onto consecrated ground.
  • Holy water and religious medallions have no effect on her.
  • Silver doesn't harm her.
  • A stake through the heart would not cause her more than momentary discomfort.
  • She can see herself in a mirror just fine.
  • Burning her with fire won't kill her. She's been burned at the stake before.

In ParadisaEdit

"Become someone who continues on ahead even when smeared in mud. That is what my apprentice should be like."

LossesEdit

Permanent: Her ability to cast glamour spells on herself to appear older.
Late March/Early April: Turned into a small duck.
Late July: Turned into her pre-vampire self.

RelationshipsEdit

People She Likes

Rin: Feels slightly protective over after Jurassic Park. Rin says they're friends, but obviously they're not since Evangeline's evil and such. More mature than most girls she's used to dealing with.
Lorne: A friendly demon. They were trapped together during the whole T-Rex incident. Amazing how near death experienced bring people together. He can understand what it's like to become human when you're not one, and also doesn't seem to mind that she's evil (possibly because she really isn't.)

People She Knows

Risika: Vampire living next door. Seems about on par with a stronger-than-normal vampire from her world. Maybe on the level of a demon. Met her during Jurassic Park and spent many fun-filled hours trapped in a jeep with her.
Wyborne: Coraline's friend. She can successfully scare him. He doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut, but she doesn't hate him.
York: Was the owner of the farm she was on. A bit too no-nonsense for her tastes, but he wasn't too bad once you got used to him. Doesn't know he wears power armor or has an AI sidekick.
Chie: Was kidnapped at York's farm. Got better. Then they went swimming. Not friends.
Ken: Kind of a goody-two-shoes. But he's still a kid, he could get better. Reminds her of a wimpier version of Negi, actually. Stayed on York's farm with her.
Ellie: A little girl. Was her roommate on York's farm for a week. Way too enthusiastic about everything.
Raine: The teacher during the farm stay. Insane.
Booster: Went stupid for a loss and kidnapped Chie. Got caught, then forced to work as slave labor on York's farm. Bought her and Chie ice cream to make up for the whole kidnapping thing.
Wally West: Went stupid for a loss and kidnapped Chie. Got caught, then forced to work as slave labor on York's farm. Lost a shit boot in a creek.
Gordon: Some guy on York's farm. Pretty quiet, but he was the first to volunteer to go find Chie. So he's gotta be pretty decent.

People She Doesn't Know Well

Zelman: Vampire, apparently knew her from her previous visits. Feels fairly powerful in person.
Guilmon: Her pet dinosaur. They were handcuffed together for a day... how random.
Dumbledore: Some wizard who lives in the same tower as she does. He seems to know some utilitarian spells.
Yuuho: Was surrounded by idiots back home, apparently. Chachazero wants to kill her.
Minato: Brave kid, tried making friends with Chachazero.
Bruce Wayne: Hosted a pretty nice party once.
Olimar: Some dude on York's farm, though they rarely talked or even saw each other. Doesn't know he's actually a midget.
Remus: Some dude on York's farm, though they rarely talked or even saw each other. Doesn't know he's actually a wizard.
Reno: Was a priest during the farm thing, and he helped set up a trap to rescue Chie. Never met him, but heard about it from Chie and York.

People She Hates

Aya: Pissed off the T-Rex.

Fed Her When She Was a Duck

Wondergirl
Yuuho

Gone

Princess Peach: Flooded the tower with her tears. Seriously wtf?
Coraline: Little girl who Eva totally fails at scaring. :(
Coraline's "Other" Mother: Fairly certain she has a solid grasp of exactly what she is, and even more certain she can deal with her if she needs to. Doesn't plan on it unless she needs to, though. That'd be revealing her true alignment.
Kanako: Very, very irritating... and obviously lesbian.
Supergirl: I'm a villain, dammit!
Myotismon: Evil fake!vampire villain. She doesn't openly speak against him since, you know, she's a villain, too.
Chrome: Fed her as a duck.

TropesEdit

"We're meant to be together, and I'll keep chasing you until you agree..."

Just for fun, a list of the most applicable tropes dealing with Evangeline! Not listing them all because that would take forever.

PlayerEdit
