HistoryEdit

Short version?

Hank goes to space, gets zapped with cosmic rays and becomes a machine spirity-thing, but his wife freaks out and kills herself when she sees him as a mass of machines he possessed. This greatly distresses him, so he analyzes the thing that brought Superman to Earth, makes a spaceship and blasts the hell outta here, travelling all over cosmos. Before that, while in S.T.A.R. Labs database, he discovers that Superman threw the Eradicator (long story) into the sun roughly around the same time Hank and his team went into space, and so believes Supes was at fault. Eventually, he comes across a dude known as Mongul and proceeds to pimp slap him into submission, so that Hank can use Mongul's Warworld as part of his plan to discredit Superman's reputation and get some sweet revenge, too. With a new body designed to look almost exactly like Superman, Hank manages to earn just about everybody's trust and succeeds in pretending to be the real deal.

Then he has Mongul blow up Coast City, killing seven million people and converts the area into Engine City.

So yeah, people were sorta kinda upset at that and it becomes apparent he is not the actual Superman when the real deal shows up to kick his butt. Henshaw, however, manages to escape by piggybacking to Apokolips on Doomsday, which he tries to conquer so that he can start over and get his revenge. But Darkseid is obviously not cool with this, and with the help of Superman manages to imprison Hank, but is just as quick to let him go so long as Hank leaves and never returns to Apokalips.

Then a bunch of other things happened, culminating in him being imprisoned in the phantom zone (which he escapes, twice... somehow.) He eventually reappears as the Grandmaster of the Manhunters on the planet Biot, and is now totally consumed by his desire to die. Here, he was turning Green Lanterns into batteries to power the new Highmasters, upgraded versions of the Manhunters. That fails, and so Hank gets blown to bits, is taken captive by the Green Lantern Corps, and eventually rescued by Sinestro, joining him for an invasion of Earth. Things go smoothly at first, but eventually he gets gangbanged by Superman and various heroes in the process, and finally meets his end - or so he thinks - when Warworld explodes right next to him.

This is when he shows up in Paradisa.

AppearanceEdit

Hank looks almost EXACTLY like an older version of Clark. Of course, the robo-bits of his face are a dead give away that this is not the same guy, not to mention his costume is different and is basically just a red and black version of the normal Superman suit.

The left part of his head is all mechanical, as well as his jaw, which leaves his nose and the right side of his head completely organic. The costume essentially replaces any yellow and blue in exchange for black, except the right part of his torso which also happens to be cybernetic. His hair is black of course - and is styled with Superman's trademark spit curl - and Hank's single organic eye is blue.

Hank has other areas of his body that are also cybernetic, such as his left leg which is completely non-organic, but is hidden from view by his suit.

PersonalityEdit

"The only perfection is absolute nothingness. A universe void of... of even a void."

Hank Henshaw is completely obsessed with two things: finding a way to defy his immortality and die, and getting revenge against Superman, with the ideal outcome managing to do both at once. His entire reason for dying is actually pretty simple: he's just sick of existing, and doesn't even care if he can be with his wife in death, either. He just wants to be gone, erased in his entirety from all existence, and has no problem taking as many people as he has to with him if it means finally achieving some peace.

All in all, he holds pretty much all forms of life in contempt, beliving that existing and living just aren't worth it. His dislike for it is great enough that he tries to disassociate his humanity from himself as much as possible, and thus attempts to cull his own emotions where he can. Hank even goes as fas as to annihilate things that were associated with his old life, thus why he annihilated Coast City - the former home of his wife Terri - with the help of Mongul and his Warworld. No matter what though, he is - and always shall be - a scientist at heart, constantly open to new information and can get very curious easily.

Hank also figures that, if he can't destroy all life, then what doesn't die ought to be totally controlled. The best way to do this, he figures, is to make them more like machines and strip them of free will and emotions.

Normally, he'd rather be alone but Paradisa has made being social somewhat of a necessity. If his time as the new Superamn has proved anything, it's that Hank is more than willing to decieve people and pretend to be something he is not in order to complete his objectives. So, while he's in Paradisa, Hank is going out of his way to keep a low profile. For now, anyway.

PowersEdit

Being a clone of Superman has a lot of benefits, and having some tricks up you're own sleeve doesn't hurt either. As a kryptonian, Hank has access to virtually every power and ability that they are capable of wielding while under the rays of a yellow sun, including:

Super Strength: The exact limit to Hank's strength is unknown, but he is able to lift well over 100 tons with enough effort. A good idea of Superman's strength is said to be able to "lift and hurl mountains", a statement that would also apply to Hank. What precisely constitutes a mountain, however, is open to interpretation.

Flight: With this ability, Hank can hover in mid-air and fly in any direction, at ay altitude. In conjunction with his speed, Hank could reach the moon in two minutes - just like Superman.

Super Speed: Another well known attribute of Kryptonians, this power allows Hank to both run and fly at incredible speeds. It also gives incredibly quick reflexes. The fastest he's capable of going is somewhere under the speed of light, but he cannot exceed it.

Invulnerability: Hank can survive even the strongest of nuclear explosions. However, his cybernetic parts aren't quite up to snuff the with his Kryptoninan half and might not be able to take as much of a beating. His stamina is also superbly enhanced, meaning he no longer needs sleep, food, and - thanks to beig a cyborg - air. Even the most difficult of physical activity will not tire him easily.

Sensory Abilities: Hank's earing is extraordinarily sharp, allowing him to percieve even the faintest of sounds from some distances away with minimal difficulty. His eye(s) also give him many unique forms of vision, such as:

  • Telescopic, which allows him to see over vast distances.
  • Microscopic, allowing him to percieve things as small as atoms.
  • Infrared, with which he can see perfectly in total, absolute darkness.
  • X-Ray, a talent that let's him see through the layers of anything but lead.
  • Electro-Magnetic Spectrum, so named because it allows Hank to view things like radio waves as though they were physical objects - useful for avoiding detection.

It's very likely that his sense of touch and smell are also greatly enhanced.

Heat Vision: This power lets Hank produce incredibly hot and dangerous rays of heat with his eye(s) that can reach temperatures up to. These rays can be made to appear as laser-like beams or made to be invisible to the naked eye. The area of effect can vary from thin, microscopically accurate beams that can reprogram machines - and even perform brain surgery - to a much larger, physically wider arc. Hank's cybernetic eye can mimic his organic's well enough, and can act independently as well. The temperature can vary by a lot, reaching as high as 10 million degrees Kelvin, and maybe even more than that

Cybernetics: He's not called the Cyborg-Superman for nothing! Hank's body is, obviously, part cybernetic in nature and this gives him access to a variety of sensors and scannning equipment. These mechanical components can be used to create various types of weapons and tools, not to mention allowing him to directly interface with a machine if need be.

Hank's right arm in particular has been seen generating prehensile tendrils and destructive beam-cannon type weapons.

Immortality: As a living, electronic consciousness unbound by the physcial realm, Hank will continue to live even if his body were totally obliterated - MUCH to his chagrin.

Technomorphing: Hank's claim to fame. 'Technomorphing' is a term Hank uses to describe his particular form of technopathy. Unlike normal technopaths, Hank doesn't just command computers and machines - instead they become an extension of himself and therefore his will until he no longer wants them to be. He can transform and alter any machine to his liking, animating them, control any mechanical system, construct many technological devices, and morphing them into new machines if necessary. If a normal technopath can make a car go, Hank can make it sprout legs and do a dance.

So far, the most impressive display of his power occurred recently in canon when he managed, with some difficulty, to control one billion individual robots.

Hank was always an intelligent person, and while he was still smart as a normal human, his travels around the cosmos has taught him quite a bit and has alllowed him to absorb a wealth of information.

RelationshipsEdit

CANON

Green Lantern/Hal Jordan: lol remember when I blew up your hometown? Good times.

Kon-El (Superboy): Met him when Hank was posing as Superman. Smacked him around a couple times.

Superman: The one person in the universe Henshaw hates the most. He feels that Superman is entirely responsible for the way Hank is today.

Superboy-Prime: Fought with him during the Sinestro Corps War. Powerful, but kinda whiny.

Thaal Sinstro: Leader of the Sinestro Corps and the one who freed Hank while on Oa. Together, they planned an attack on Earth.

PARADISA

Abel Nightroad: Some derp Hank met. Well, a derp with crazy cool alien nanites that make him go crazy. Better keep an eye on this one.

Arthas: An undead entity of some sort. Hank hasn't spoken to him much.

Billy (Dr. Horrible): BILLY MAH BOI. Hank met Billy through GLaDOS and offered him a job. Billy took it, but seemed hesitant. Fun to mess with.

Cain Knightlord: Met him over the journal, and has yet to find out that he's Abel brother. Refreshing to meet a like-minded individual! However, he seems to have left and come back again, and is now a little less... nutty.

Clark Kent: GTFO. They haven't spoken too much, but Clark seems just as insufferable as the Superman of Hank's world.

Clu: A living program and the Administrator of his 'system.' Hank hasn't managed to peg down his personaliity just yet, but he knows the ambitious types when he sees them.

Kaylee Frye: Despite commissioning her to help him build his Manhunter Alpha, Hank doesn't know much about her. He was, hoever, impressed that she could put together a robot that was, for all intents and purposes, alien technology (patterned after human sensibilities, but still).

Legato: Another well-rounded gentlemen. Seems sort of distant.

Liadrin: Hank didn't think much of her at first, but her talk of the Light and it's abilities has greatly intrigued him. She has also requested to be present when he activates his tower. Hank was against it at first, but he figured there was no point in hiding it.

Riful: What seems to be on the outside a young girl is in fact some manner of creature that devours humans. Hank has offered to clone and grow a supply of human organs for her. However, it looks like someone might have done so before he could.

The Meta: I've heard of schizophrenia, but this is ridiculous! Curious to know more about him in general.

Uru: A kind girl, but oh so naive. Gets the feeling she won't be quite as nice if she learns the truth about Hank.

Hank's ProjectsEdit

Since arriving in Paradisa, Hank as been at work on a few things to try and pass the time while simultaneously looking for a way to escape Paradisa.

  • Hank's Tower: A golden machine that is about five stories high and can be located in a northeasternly forest from the castle. Hank has done his best to keep it hidden, but the very top portion can be seen from high places such as the castle roof. However, due to no new leads on the whole energy source thing, Hank has temporarily deconstructed to be used at a later date, leaving behind only the base. Everythig else is probably nearby under tarps or something. Long defunct, Hank has considred restarting this project.
  • Alpha and Omega: Two Manhunters Hank set out to create. While one of them - Omega - remains unfinished due to Hank's neglect, Alpha was put together with the help of Kylee Frye. Unlike the Manhunters from the comics, Alpha possesses extremely rudimentary AI when compared to the real thing and no weaponry of any kind. All in all, they're meant to be little more than an extra pair of hands.
  • Founded the Eschaton Society.
