The Latest
Edit
Hesam has become well acquainted with the dangers of the castle, especially after his first year anniversary in the castle, he was attacked by a vampire. Since then, he has pushed himself to become better at protecting others and himself by learning how to use guns and self-defense training.
He still works in the clinic, however with it being well staffed he's struggling to find himself useful there and would prefer to find a side-job.
Personality
Edit
His family is from Iran but he spent the majority of his life trying to outrun any sort of religious and cultural expectations his family wanted of him (and thereby supported his sister in her efforts to leave the restrictions their family placed on her). He was pressured from a young age to become a doctor but he never made the cut and instead became a paramedic – his last ditch effort to become someone his parents could be proud of. While he’s made a point to try and break free of his family he has unfortunately taken on the bad trait of his father by being very proud. He hates admitting weakness and has a fear of feeling or being seen as weak. He’s horrible at discussing feelings or emotional problems and often tries to either ignore the topic completely by being stubborn, or diffuses it with humor.
As far as being motivated, he really isn’t. He doesn’t like his job and he has a self destructive behaviour of ‘dating as a hobby’. He’s never tried to settle down and isn’t sure if it’s something he’d want to do. He’s pretty apathetic towards his future. He feels like he’s missing something but he just doesn’t know how to fix it. Since his coping mechanism or lack thereof is to ignore it – he plans on just ignoring how much he doesn’t like his life and focuses instead on how much easier it is to drink beer, hit on the ladies and roll his eyes at Peter Petrelli’s work ethic.
In an ideal world, he’d like to have a family. Unfortunately he found out in his late twenties that that's not going to happen and if he were completely honest with himself, that’s probably when his fears of being weak and incapable of doing things really started to affect him. First he couldn’t live up to the expectations his father wanted, then he couldn’t live up to the expectations his mother wanted. As much as he hates himself for feeling so worthless, he’d hate to think of anyone else considering him like that. He therefore tries his hardest to portray a guy who is happy, healthy and loving bachelor life. He is getting closer and closer to forty with each year but he still acts like someone in their twenties.
Since he works in an environment that deals with being responsible for lives, he has a very firm set of beliefs and values. He’s had to medically treat victims as well as offenders and has a great deal of rage that he’s been forced to treat someone who has hurt another. He therefore doesn’t take well to serial killers or anyone who goes out of their way to hurt people. He has often very loud opinions on these sorts of things and can get into a lot of trouble for it. Despite all that, he knows how to be a people person thanks to his work, even if really, he’s become quite jaded with them.
He can speak and write in Farsi/Persian, but not very well since he doesn’t actively practice. He knew enough to communicate with his family but he’s not sure if he’d be a very good translator. He remembers taking care of two children by the names of Hana and Kevan but he doesn't remember them being his niece and nephew thanks to his castle loss.
Despite his never ending girlfriend troubles back home, he still continues to make a beeline towards blondes. He'd call that a bad habit.
Relationships
Edit
Canon Relationships
Edit
Emma Coolidge - Emma is a file clerk at Mercy Heights Hospital where Hesam works. Hesam's never spoken to her outside of work but he's pretty sure Peter name dropped her a few times. Also it's always good to know the people who handle your paperwork.
Peter Petrelli - Peter is unfortunately, Hesam's partner at work. They worked together for almost a year give or take a few months (depending on how one sees the Heroes timeline). They have a typical relationship where despite spending a ridiculous amount of hours crammed into an ambulance of all times in a day, they never actually talk.
Paradisa Relationships
Peter Petrelli - Well they were stuck together in an ambulance back home, now they're stuck in a castle together. At least there's more leg room this time round. Peter managed to scare the hell out of Hesam when Peter was on a loss that increased his anger. Since then Hesam's trust in Peter has been brittle and he's started to doubt their friendship but thanks to the castle, he's been on better terms with Peter after being granted a baby son with Petrelli genes that he named Hassan. He also got to play Uncle to Peter's daughter, Mary.
Penelope Garcia One of the first people Hesam met when he first came to Paradisa. Garcia showed him how to work the journals and he is forever thankful that she's just like him - normal. Unfortunately, Garcia was booted from the castle and Hesam had a sad. He would have liked getting to know her better.
Mohinder Suresh - Mohinder and Hesam get along real well and Hesam is eager to learn more about how abilities work from him. Mohinder has become quite a friend to Hesam and it was through Mohinder that Hesam learned about his loss. Hesam has also started oversharing with Mohinder about his life back home and told him about Roya.
Parker Anyone who is willing to have a food fight with him is a-okay in Hesam's book. He likes her style but would feel a lot better if she stopped sneaking into his room to draw on his face. Secretly though, he enjoys her company and was pretty upset to find she'd left the castle. He never got her back for those pranks.
Penny Was someone Hesam considered a friend. She always made him smile and was the cause of Hesam starting a better food diet. When she left the castle, Hesam spent at least a week sulking and eating vegetarian meals.
Elektra Natachios - They bonded over Peter getting himself into trouble. Considering Peter had an almost daily problem with the castle, Hesam got to know Elektra more with each loss.
Delirium - He met her during Valentines (2011) which wasn't the best circumstances to be meeting someone considering he had one of the candy pieces and went a little creepy. It's thanks to him that Del now has two moving tattoos after the (cough) hickies he gave her. He enjoys spending time with her and finds Del to be a great sense of company. Even though he struggles to follow her train of thought he tries his best and would do anything to help her out.
Dick Grayson After getting worried he was becoming out of shape, Hesam went looking for someone to help train him back to his old self and Dick helpfully offered. They managed a few sessions together before Dick left the castle. Hesam was grateful for the help.
Robert Chase - After Chase helped Hesam out with a few injuries, the two got talking and became somewhat friends. Chase has played an important role in getting Hesam back into working at the clinic and is always seemingly happy to join Hesam for a beer or five. Hesam was crushed to learn Chase had gone back home but things started looking up once Chase found himself back in the castle.
Ianto Jones - He's found a fellow coffee fan in Ianto and worships the guy's ability to produce perfect coffee. And cookies. What he doesn't admire is Ianto's power to make him turn fifty shades of red. Hesam has learned that it's best to avoid talking about relationships with Ianto when he's drinking hot beverages.
Phoebe Halliwell - Hesam's first witch encounter! He finds her to be smart, intelligent and brave after meeting her in the clinic after they all became pirates that one time. He would hate to admit that he developed a crush on her before learning that she was with Peter. For now he's just content to continue the playful, teasing friendship he has with her and be amused (and happy) that she's with Peter.
Alan Bradley - During the pirate plot, Alan helped Hesam deal with a bit of sea-sickness and chatted to him about castle residents. Since then the two often catch up and check in with each other. Hesam enjoys his company and looks forward to hearing anything Alan has to offer about what he learns about the castle.
Cupid - Hesam's run into this guy (God) a few times and each time Cupid has helped him out in some way despite Hesam's habit of making fun of him. To be honest, Hesam's pretty thrilled to have a God as his friend but he has no intention of ever admitting that to Cupid or, anyone. Ever since Cupid poked through his headspace, he's felt more comfortable around him and actually enjoys listening to Cupid's life back home. Even if it does break his brain. Constantly.
