BackgroundEdit

Hiccup is a viking from a small village called Berk, where the food is tough and tasteless and the people are even more so. Growing up he was pretty much the most fail viking that ever failed, because of his inability (and then unwillingness) to kill the Viking's natural enemy: the Dragon.

When Hiccup shot down a dragon so fearsome no one had ever survived meeting it, no one believed him. When he searched the woods, he found the dragon still alive but injured and unable to fly. By spending time with the dragon (named Toothless) he learned that there was more to dragons than the Vikings thought.

With Toothless's help, Hiccup became the number one dragon trainer in the village, but he failed his last test (killing a dragon) when he tried to show the village how harmless the dragons were when they weren't provoked. Hiccup's father startled the dragon and caused it to attack Hiccup, and Toothless flew to his rescue.

Once Toothless saved Hiccup the villagers captured him and forced him to show them the way to the dragons' nest. Once they arrived there they found out what Hiccup already knew: the smaller dragons served one giant dragon that forced them to raid the Viking's villages. Hiccup and his classmates rode to the rescue and defeated the dragon, but in the process Hiccup lost his foot.

Once the dragons were free from the big dragon, they began to work together and live in harmony with the Vikings.
