Background
Edit
"...in the end, I was the only one who could do it. I was the only one who could make the choice to use, or not.
To redo my life, or just give it up to the shadows that were forever crawling around in my head.
I chose to be better.
I chose to be strong."
Jilly is the master of reinvention. She’s certainly had enough practice. After all, until she was 16, she didn’t exist. Before that she was Jillian Carter of Hillbilly Holler… abuse victim… unwanted child… trainwreck. Then her life crashed and burned in the streets of Newford. That’s where Lou Fucceri, an up and coming cop, found her and asked her name. Afraid she'd be sent back home, Jillian caught sight of a pair of billboards and cobbled together the two products (Coppertone sunscreen and corn hawked by the Jolly Green Giant) to form her new name; Jillian Coppercorn. Lou brought her to his girlfriend Angel, a streetfront social worker, who helped her get back on her feet. An anonymous sponser paid for her to finish her high school education and enter the art program at Butler University, where she flourished. Armed with a new identity and the supporting grace of friends, Jilly built a new life for herself, determined to leave Jillian Carter behind forever.
Personality
Edit
“Nothing strikes me as truly weird,” Jilly told him. “There’s only stuff I haven’t figured out yet.”
Relentlessly cheerful and always up for an adventure, Jilly lives her life to the fullest. She is a firm believer in magic, whether it’s found in the form of spells and fairies or in simple acts of kindness. She will believe even the most fantastic of stories, even going so far as to say that she’s experienced some herself. Despite her difficult past, or perhaps because of it, she persists that there is good in everyone if one is only willing to look hard enough to find it. She sites herself as an example. “I had to learn how to be a good person,” she has told her friends.
She tries to do her part to leave the world a better place. She can often be found helping out where ever there is need; in homeless shelters, clothing drives, senior centers, or just on the streets themselves. She can be brave to the point of recklessness, giving her the appearance of being fearless, but she’s simply determined that she will never be a victim again. When not volunteering or working (she was a part-time waitress in a café), Jilly lives for her art. Though she’s content to create with a sketchbook and pencil, her true joy comes from painting. Her trademark, which was just beginning to get noticed in the Newford Art Community, is a series of fae or magical creatures in urban settings.
Progress

- The first year of her history in Para can be found here.
- The castle is thrown into chaos once more when Isis possesses Lois (via castle loss) and she starts trying to sacrifice people.
- Pretending to go on a camping trip, Roy Harper leaves the castle.
- When Eris influences the residents to be effected by their baser urges, Jilly and several others find themselves worrying about their friends' dangerous behavior. Things resolve violently after Faith holds a rave in the lobby...which quickly turns into a riot.
- Jilly's Valentine's day is ruined when Cain turns into his 01 self, thanks to the castle, and she is picked out as a way to call out Abel. She manages to call for help over the journals, but not before Cain crushes her wrist. She's rescued by Crowley, Abel, and the Doctors. Crowley, in an act of messing with Cain that totally has nothing to do with friendship, heals the injury.
- In need of something light, Jilly helps Sakaki run an animal talent show for the shelter.
- The castle is thrown into a panic when kids start disappearing right before their eyes. Sora is stolen, screaming, from Jilly's arms. Damian is pulled from the center of the batfamiliy. Everywhere, terrified kids are seeing something the adults can't. Jilly throws herself into research, ignoring her wishing ban in order to keep up an unending supply of caffeine while she fights to stay awake. As things get more grim, she and Abel contemplate sacrificing themselves if their blood would take the place of the childrens'. Finally, they verify that the kids are alive when Legato is able to contact one (though his cruelty drives Jilly to the point of striking at him), and they dig their way down to Slenderman's hidden cavern to rescue them.
- After a Spring Festival and time to recover, Jilly finds herself singing along with the rest of the castle when April Fools comes around.
- Coming home from work one day, Jilly finds that Sakaki has been sent home. She moves in with Willow and Xander.
- When people start disappearing from town, Jilly begins to suspect she knows who's behind it. Confronting Legato, she finds herself trapped in a terrible bargain. He'll leave off picking out the townspeople if she keeps it secret from the heroes. She reluctantly agrees.
- When Karen discovers Legato's involvement and announces it to the rest of the castle, Jilly's forced to reveal what she knows in an attempt to keep things from escalating. The truth gets her in trouble with Bruce and the Doctors, but she accepts the blame. When Karen goes and attacks Legato anyway, however, she's furious and confronts the heroes for foolishly risking lives.
- The castle brings back the mother's day children and Jilly gets Annie back in her life for a week. Thankfully, the castle lets her stay away from Hammer this time around.
- The castle turns Abel into his former self, killing townspeople and threatening residents, and Jilly makes a deal with Legato. She'll do him a favor (to be agreed on later) if he'll do what he can to stop Abel from causing more damage.
- In the aftermath of all the recent destruction, Jilly finds herself on a week long temporary loss. For seven days, she was convinced she was a singer (rather than an artist) and paraded around the castle with odd costumes, singing, and a strange ability to compell people to be her background dancers.
- A world change places them all on Pirate Ships. Things go pretty well until the "Navy" captures Jilly and a handful of others in a violent attack. Thankfully, they all escape relatively unscathed. Coming home proves to be a bit of a shock, however, when they find that the castle has been trashed during their absence.
- When the villains are finally taken down in a bloody showdown, Jilly is torn. On one hand, it's a huge weight off her shoulders to have Legato imprisoned and unable to harm anyone. But finding out that Billy was working with Riful and involved in kidnapping several residents is heartbreaking. She's unsure what to think of it all. In the meantime, Abel leaves the castle, and she's mourning his disappearance as she tries to sort out her thoughts.
Relationships
Edit

Added by Krakattack
to treat each other with kindness and respect, we can make the world a better place."
Note - This list is getting crazy long and I tend to forget to update. If you feel you should be on this list, add yourself to the acquaintances and I'll add a description and move your char to the correct spot (if they're friends or creepers, respectively :3).
Canon:
Wendy St. James - a poet and fellow waitress as Kathryn's cafe in Newford. Best friends with Jilly and Sophie.
Sophie Etoile - an artist who Jilly claims has fairy blood. Best friends with Jilly and Wendy.
Geordie Riddell - Jilly's best friend and one of the only guys she truly trusts. She's lost all memory of him.
Paradisa: Okay... this is getting a bit ridiculous x____x
Friends:
Barney - Her boss. Accidentally gave him Billy's picture, thinking he was the same person. He gave her a job at the WildKat. They were getting along pretty well until he purposefully shot her during the Valentine's plot. Despite that, she still considers him a friend. She won him during the bachelor auction, but the castle's interference kept the date from happening before he was killed during the Eclipse.
Billy- Her best friend in the castle. He wasn't too happy with her for drawing a picture of him with fairies in the journal, which got them off to a rocky start. His cynicism and her incessant cheerfulness seemed to put them at odds every other time they met. Despite this, they've managed to slowly build a friendship. His recent involvement with Riful, however, has left her shaken and unsure what to think.
Crowley- Knows him as "Sunglasses dude." Found out he's a demon from Faye during their girls' night. It doesn't bother her, especially since she really doesn't get the sense that he's evil. Trouble, for sure, but not evil. She would trust him with her life... just not a game of cards.
Jo- While she doesn't know Jo well, she's really started to feel a connection with her. She seems to have come from a rough past as well. The supernatural forces in her world are darker than the ones Jilly is used to, but she still finds it fascinating. Jilly enjoys their conversations and tries to make an effort to keep in touch with her, especially since she moved out of the castle.
Lois Lane - Very resourceful. She compiled an amazing list of information about the castle and has shown a lot of interest in both how the castle works and the townspeople. She also knows Roy. Jilly promised her a cup of coffee as consolation for being kidnapped and dropped in the Dead Zone.
Lorne - One of Sakaki's friends, who has quickly become one of hers. She loves spending time with him and tried to help protect the Caritas during the demon attacks.
Rin - The one organizing the outposts. She's easy to talk to... and she knows Joshua and Legato. They've started a charity for the townspeople and, during their time in Paradisa High, rescued Legato from a locker. Nothing brings you together quite like nearly being killed by an angry creeper.
The (Fifth) Doctor - She met him after Legato and Szayel disrupted the castle. He helped calm her down and shared his library with her. She's thrilled at the chance to read about his home world. He gave her a piece of the coral that the TARDIS was grown from. She'd trust him with anything.
Willow- Is quickly becoming one of her closest friends in the castle. Jilly appreciates her sense of humor and finds it easy to relax around her. She attempted to give her a magic lesson, but they were interrupted by Billy before they could really start. With the obvious chemistry between Willow and Billy, Jilly decided to do a bit of matchmaking... which was amazingly successful. When Sakaki left, Willow insisted that Jilly move in with her.
The Kids
Carl -
Conan -
Coraline - A friend from Wybie's home. Very intelligent and seems like a good kid. She's seen some rough things.
Damian - No way around it, Damian is a pain in the ass. But the more she talks to him, the more she feels like she needs to give him a chance. Sure, he's bratty, arrogant, and determined to tell her he doesn't have to listen to the likes of her, but she's dealt with that more than a few times before. He helped look out for the other kids when kidnappings occurred around the castle (though not because she asked him, of course), so she's hoping to see more of that side of him. She's still going to step in if she catches him bullying the other residents, though.
Draco- Works at the Candy Bonsai. He's not really a kid, but he's close enough that she still kinda considers him one. He can be pretty down, so she tries to look out for him and just cheer him up.
Nanako- A very sweet, mature girl. She's pretty self-reliant and she's got her big brother to look out for her, but Jilly still keeps an eye out for her, just in case.
Natsuki - a young woman who seemed very skeptical about school. Said she might be interested in an art class... but "no promises." Still, she's been showing up periodically and Jilly likes having her in the class. Has a strange obsession with lingerie?
Nudge -
Rhyme -
Sora K - This boy will break your heart just to look at him. Fragile and damaged, Jilly needs to protect him from any further harm. With how he's been treated, he believes he's completely undeserving of any kind actions, but Jilly's determined to change that.
Zuko - A very angry young man who lit his friend's (?) room on fire after the castle sent him home. Seems to be a friend of Natsuki's. She'll be keeping an eye out for him.
Acquaintances
Allen Walker -
Amelia -
Aziraphale - An angel, and friends with Crowley. She hasn't had a chance to really talk with him, yet, but if he's friends with Crowley that's good enough for her.
Bruce Wayne (Imposter) -
Charlie - Met him while taking care of little!Deadpool. He's quiet and she doesn't really know anything about him, but she's heard Chiyo talk about Mr. Charlie and she knows that he looked after her in LA. That alone makes him worthy of trust.
Clark- her science teacher during Paradisa High and a pretty decent guy, when he's not being possessed.
Colette -
Faith - kind of looked out for her during her teen loss. She gave her alcohol, but also told her it was a dry place (as far as drugs go) and put up with her being sullen and distant. Another person who understands what she was going through. She's gone home and come back since then and is from a much more troubling spot in her past.
Faye - Jilly officially met her when she arranged a girls' night out during LA, but she'd seen her with Crowley before, during the Valentine's plot. They had fun laughing over Crowley's snake form. She was annoyed with how she handled her "son" during the bb plot, but they did only have a week to get used to the whole parenting thing. When things fell apart with their friendship, Crowley asked Jilly to keep an eye on her and make sure she was doing alright. Things have taken a turn for the worse though, since Faye sold out her friends (getting Barney killed) and then assaulted the Caritas during the demon attacks. They're even now (one slap later), but Jilly wouldn't call her a friend.
Fred- An intelligent, quiet girl who Jilly talked to over the journals and officially met at Ukitake's party. She'd like to talk with her again.
Galadriel -
Lance Sweets - The castle's psychologist. She first met him as a duck, when Church was taking care of him on a loss. Then he ran into her during her teen loss. He offered to listen if she ever needs to talk about what happened, but she's too busy trying to deny that any of it still bothers her. Still, he seems like a nice guy.
Maya -
The (Eleventh) Doctor - The eleventh regeneration of the Doctor. Met him while he was in the process of destroying his room (in the name of science, of course). He reminds her of a little kid with all his energy, but time has show that he is still, undeniably, the Doctor. And she's exceedingly grateful that he, at least, didn't have to deal with her 16-year-old self.
Wade (Deadpool) - Met him while he was on a child loss. She broke her resolution and wished up a cookie to show him the castle was magic, then looked after him so he wouldn't be scared without his parents around. Later, when they were both teenagers (they really can't seem to meet up during their normal ages) she went to the dance with him at Paradisa High.
York- From Church's world. One of the only people from that world who Church spoke well of. He helped her out when Hammer was being a bit of a jerk during the bb plot.
Wary of?
Joshua Kiryu - Met him when he started playing mind games with her over the journal and then continued them at her art show. She doesn't like him and doesn't trust him, but she won't completely ignore him, either. She's since run into him while on a loss that forced him into his true form. She knows now that there's definitely more to him than it appears. She just has no idea what that more is.
Zelman Clock - Lives with Legato and attacked Rin. Has recently found out that he's Legato's master. He's easy to talk to and relatively unassuming, but Jilly's not taking any chances. Anyone who can get Legato's respect is worth being worried about. Not to mention, red eyes are a dead give away.
Enemies - It's pretty hard to get on this list
Legato Bluesummers - Legato used her as a puppet to talk to Vash. She didn't realize it at the time, but found out after a large upset in the castle showed her that Szayel wasn't the only one messing with people. Things were made a lot more complicated when she ran into him during the LA plot and learned a little about his past. She's not making any excuses for him... but she can't quite bring herself to hate him, either. The more she finds out, the harder it is to find the line... and it disturbs her how well she understands his motivation. The emptiness there scares her.
Riful - She hasn't met her... and she doesn't want to. Riful kidnapped Crowley and then scared the crap out of all of them at the outpost for some unknown reason.
Gone Home
6 - Her little artist buddy! She's recently found out that he's got some kind of psychic power or ability to prophesy. She's not sure what to think of that. She's incredibly fond of him, though, and likes to check in on him from time to time. Finding out that he'd gone home was a very sad discovery.
Bruce Wayne -
Church- He was becoming one of her best friends in the castle before he disappeared. She's not admitting how much that loss hurt.
Lindsey McDonald - While she didn't realize it, Lindsey reminded her a lot of Geordie. A musician who's a bit rough around the edges, with a troubled past... she saw a lot of good in him and couldn't help but enjoy his company. They'd started a bit of a relationship (not that she'd admit it) when the castle sent him home. She's worried for him, since Lorne wasn't exactly optimistic about what he was going home to.
Szayel - He attacked her and left her injured and traumatized in one of the castle hallways. She's incredibly relieved to find that the castle got rid of him, but she'll be watching to make sure his name doesn't reappear on any of the nameplates.
Sakaki- Her roommate. She's a bit shy, but she really has a big heart for animals. She has a tendency to say the things that should be kept inside and keep inside the bits that would be helpful to say, but Jilly is starting to feel like she understands her and she's very fond of the girl. Spent three weeks thinking they were sisters during the telenovela plot.
The (Tenth) Doctor - The Doctor's enthusiasm and boyant exuberance was like a magnet for Jilly. She was enthralled by him and the TARDIS. He gave her a key to the TARDIS and she was hoping to get to know him better but, before she had the chance, the castle took him away. He's back, but she their connection is a quieter one. And then he went home again.
Wybie- A quick-witted kid with a knack for inventing. He has a penchant for getting into trouble, so she likes to keep an eye out for him, but she knows he's smart enough to ask for help if he needs it. Mostly, she just enjoys seeing what mischief he's up to and keeps an eye out in case she needs to run damage control. He turned pretty scary when aliens possessed him during their time in Paradisa High, and Jilly's worried about the aftermath. She'll be looking out for him until he's had a chance to recover a bit.
Trivia
Edit
"I always liked him,” Jilly said. “There's something intrinsically good about him--an inborn compassion you don't find in many people these days."
"You could be talking about yourself"
Jilly laughed. "Not a chance. I had to learn how to be a good person."
- Helping others is Jilly's way of atoning. She carries a lot of guilt for the choices she made when she was younger.
- Was blessed, as a child, by the White Deer Woman, which left her with a "glow" about her that can possibly be noticed by those sensitive to such things. It's not quite an aura... more like a representation of her potential?
- Back home, her friends joked that Jilly knew 2/3 of Newford and was working on the last 1/3. She seems to be trying to duplicate this here in Paradisa.
- Will pass on “messages” for dogs, like the 101 dalmations scene where they imitate the howl to keep it going.
- Is a morning person. And a night person. Seriously, it's like the girl never sleeps.
