Personality
Edit
Kaylee: "Everybody's got someone. Wash, tell me I'm pretty."
Wash: "Were I not married, I would take you in a manly fashion."
Kaylee: "Because I'm pretty?"
Wash: "Because you're pretty."
Kaylee is the most girly tomboy you will ever meet. Raised and taught in her daddy’s garage, she’s got an instinctive ability with anything mechanical. She might not have had a lot of formal education, but she’s got a good head on her shoulders. Whether she’s familiar with a specific machine or not, she can usually figure her way around any problems, making her one of the best ship mechanics in the sky. More severe or complicated problems can still flummox her, though, and the thought of purposefully damaging something, the way Saffron does twice to Serenity, is completely anathema to her. She loves her ship and considers it like it’s a living thing because, to her, it is.

Paradisa History
Edit
- Arrives in Paradisa and finds out only half the crew is there with her.
- Asks if anyone needs help with mechanical things and meets Mia, the Meta, and Washington.
- Things with Meta get frightening when it results in someone being damaged and Kaylee being intimidated by Caterina. Moves in with Zoe and Wash to be safe.
- Meets York and Delta and offers to try and make up for helpling the Meta.
- Paradisa becomes a medieval world. Hides in the TARDIS when things turn ugly.
- Gets stuck in the mysterious building during the EXTREME plot. Goes through some crazy hijinx to get out.
- Decides to try her hand at building a Mule from scratch. Also begins taking on other projects for various residents.
- Becomes an American High School student for a week when the castle does a world change. She didn't care for the aliens at the end, but the new friends were nice.
- Finishes putting together a workshop, agrees to help Hank build a robot, Gino fix his ship, Carrie build a bike, York take care of his car, and Sam take care of the Impala.
- Feeling pretty content until the castle sends Simon home. If that's not enough, Halloween reveals Wash's little secret about his future, leaving the whole crew feeling pretty uneasy.
- When Washington is kidnapped by the forces stealing residents and townspeople, Kaylee uses it as motivation to finish the Mule. Setting out with Spike Spiegel to see if they can find anyone, things are going pretty well until Spike accidentally crashes into the Dead Zone and drives them off a cliff, leaving them in need of rescue themselves.
- Kaylee finds she really approves of Para's Christmas traditions. She's a bit miffed when Spike Spiegel freaks after their kiss, but ends up having a rather steamy meeting with Spike (BtVS) to make up for it. This place ain't so bad after all.
- As the new year starts, Isis and Eris turn everything on its head. Sam is killed as a sacrifice and then several of Kaylee's friends start acting like horrible versions of themselves as Eris urges them into being their baser selves.
- Valentine's proves to be similarly problematic. Falling impulsively in love with Wesley, he proposes and she agrees. Even though it only lasts for a few days, it's enough to worry their friends as they try to keep anything official from happening.
- River is sent home, and then Wash. Kaylee is left heartbroken at having their crew reduced so much.
- When mother's day rolls around, Kaylee finds herself having a baby girl with Spike. Cuteness abounds.
- Things heat up with Xander when he asks for volunteers to help him with a science experiment...of sorts.
- A world change places all the residents on Pirate Ships. Kaylee is, at first, thrilled to be on a ship of any kind, but it turns into something less than pleasant as fighting takes over their travels. Even worse, they come home to find their rooms in shambles after an attack by the First Gens. Kaylee is furious.
- Back home, Kaylee settles into a routine and starts trying to find a new workspace in town. During one of her trips, she's kidnapped by Tesla who is working for Riful. Terrified, she thankfully only has to survive a few days before Zoe, Spike, John and Brock charge in to save the day. She loves her big damn heroes.
Relationships
Edit
"It's shiny! I like to meet new people, they've all got stories..."
Canon: Malcom Reynolds: Her captain! She adores him and trusts him completely to get the crew out of scrapes, though that doesn’t stop her from being annoyed when he gets pushy or doesn’t do things the way she thinks he should.
Zoe Alleyne Washburne: Second in command and Serenity’s resident badass. If Mal’s not around, Kaylee looks to Zoe to take control and make things right again.
Hoban 'Wash' Washburne: Zoe's husband, master pilot, and all around great guy. He’s been known to help her solve some of the trickier problems Serenity’s gotten into (like when Saffron buggered up all their controls…twice), and they work well together in a crisis. Plus, he’s just fun to be around. He's been sent home, leaving just her and Zoe in the castle.
Inara Serra: Kaylee idolizes Inara, and she sees her as almost a big-sister-figure. She’s beautiful and glamorous and more worldly than the mechanic. When not busy in the engine room, it’s not all that surprising for Kaylee to spend time in Inara’s shuttle for some real girl talk.
Jayne Cobb: Jayne is… well. Jayne. He’s crude and dumb and kind of a bully. That said, he’s part of the crew and, as long as no one lets him take charge, Kaylee won’t hold too much against him. Not forever, anyway.
Simon Tam: Things with Simon are…complicated. He’s one of her best friends on the ship and it’s no secret that she wishes things would go a bit further, but his need to be “proper” and his amazing ability to put his foot in his mouth at the worst possible times keep getting in the way. She doesn’t resent his commitment to his sister… but sometimes she wishes he’d focus on other things for a bit, too. She found out that, when he's from, he's leaving the crew. This is not happy news. He's since been sent home, and Kaylee's wishing she didni't know that little bit of the future.
River Tam: Also complicated. Whatever issues River has, Kaylee was always willing to accept her as a little sister. Then River went and killed 4 men. With her eyes shut. Kaylee hasn’t told the others what she saw, seeing as the girl saved her life and already has issues being accepted by some of the crew (*cough* Jayne *cough*), but it’s made her afraid of what she’s capable of. Still, River's crew. She's gone home, and losing her is harder than Kaylee wants to admit.
Shepherd Book: The good shepherd! He won her over with strawberries when he first came on board Serenity, and she’s been fond of him ever since. He held her hand when she was injured and she made sure to return the favor for him as well. While the others might wonder about his secretive past, Kaylee’s just happy to have him on board.
Paradisa:
John Marston - He reminds her of a mix of Simon and Mal. He treats her like a little sister and she adores him... not that it keeps her from picking on him when the opportunity arises.
The Meta - A very frightening soldier. He's got very cool armor and some rather interesting AI programs, but he's completely nuts and very dangerous. He considers her "his" mechanic.
Washington - A soldier from Meta's world. He convinced Kaylee to help fix the Meta, but then tried to give her a way out, later. He's gruff, and kind of a jerk, but Kaylee thinks there's more to him than that.
York - Another solider from Meta's world, and the one Meta is hunting. She feels terrible for making things harder for him.
Delta - An incredible AI program. She wants to spend more time around him, just to see how he works.
Sora - A shy young boy with a pet rabbit. Kaylee talked to him over the journal.
Crowley - Told her he was a demon. Then she saw him light the TARDIS on fire. She won't be happy to see him again.
Faye - Met her during the Berserk world change when Faye terrorized the TARDIS. She's talked to her a few times since, not realizing that Spike's colleague was the same woman who was hurting her friends, but she's finally made the connection. She wants nothing to do with her.
Sam Winchester - Roomed with him during the Paradisa High world change. He's a lot taller when he's not a teenager. She's helping him take care of the Impala.
Yuan - Wanted help devising traps and security for the outposts. They kissed at Christmas and have talked since. He seems nice.
Fred - Slowly joining the ranks of her closest friends, outside of her crew. They had a much needed drinking night after Valentines Day. It ended with Kaylee having a growing dislike of tequila and a blossoming friendship.
Spike Spiegel - Had a space ship and seems like a real decent fella, even if he is pretty short on words. If he ever gets his ship back, she'll probably end up helping him with it. He crashed her ship, and he manages to frustrate her more often than not, but he's still one of her best friends in the castle outside of her crew.
Xander - a silly and friendly guy who has only recently arrived in the castle. He seems like a bit of a goof, but he's fun to talk to. They were getting to be good friends and they slept together, but then he was sent home. He's back in the castle now, but she doesn't know what to expect.
Spike (Btvs) - Met the vampire during Christmas. The doves gave them a rather...interesting... meeting. Since then, he's been fun to talk to, one night stands aside.
Wesley - Met him in the death match. He was easy to talk to, if a bit melancholy, but they've since gained a much stronger connection after he was Eris'd into reckless behavior and then, during Valentine's day, proposed to her with his grandmother's ring.
The Doctor - There are two of him, each with the most marvelous ship she's ever seen. A lot of what he says goes over her head, but she likes them and trusts them...and she wants more of a chance to explore and learn about the TARDIS.
Nora - A teenager who had never seen snow like the snow in Paradisa.
