PersonalityEdit

initial impression: He's a good looking kid, but quiet and fairly nondescript besides, he's not great with eye contact unless you initiate it. But if you meet him while he's working with others, he's very vocal and clear with his intentions, efficient and thorough in everything he does.

personality: Pretty much everything he does is a desperate scramble backwards from the boy he was a short time ago. Kind, but not a pushover. Polite, but not above pushing back when he's pushed. Soft-spoken, but one toe across his newly drawn line, and you'll know exactly what he thinks of you. Really. He's very articulate if the need arises, and very, very smart.

Other than that, the whole "friend" thing is still really new to him. He never really had real friends growing up (and the one friend he did have he can't remember very well -- long story on that one), so the concept sometimes bumps and jerks along with him inside. He'll always be a little awkward and formal when it comes to other people, but he's gentle and generous to a fault to make up for it. He gets embarrassed easily, and it's hard to catch him laughing. However, he's warm and understanding to those who need him, sacrificing what he can in order to help his friends.

BackstoryEdit

FOREVER ALONE, ALSO WASN'T LOVED ENOUGH. Then his big bro died. ANGST! Made a few friends! WHAT THE EFF DIGIMON!? Best friend was betrayed by everyone he loved, went mute, and got sucked into a parallel dimension. SO THAT WENT WELL. ALSO FOREVER ALONE (except for one friend whom he forgot GG KEN). ALSO GOT TURNED EVIL AND A LITTLE AMNESIAC. Took over a world. Got his ass handed to him. HARDCORE DEPRESSION. Got over it (sort of), started to help save the world! Made friends! Got better! Didn't hate himself as much!

Came to Paradisa right before a critical point in character development. Oops.

Powers and AbilitiesEdit

Without Wormmon, not many. He's got some special swag that allows him to do a thing or two, but mostly he's on his own.
On the right is a set of what's called a tag and crest. Crests are strange things; artifacts from the digital world, imbued with the power to make Digimon evolve into more powerful forms. The power of the crest can also be utilized to protect and preserve objects and places of value, and can even influence the world around them based on their attributes. However, the latter uses happen sparingly, if at all, and usually require a lot of outside power and someone who really knows what they're doing, i.e. the guardian Digimon of the Digital World, who are basically the godmodes of godmode.

Ken got his crest for Christmas, complete with its own tag to keep it in. This pink bling is called the Crest of Kindness. There is only one of each kind of crest in the world, and only one child, whom the Power that Be deem the most representative of that particular attribute, receives one. This means that Ken is really, really nice. It was also blown up with the rest of his floating base back in episode 30. He is as confused as the rest of us are about this turn of events, but he's sure happy to have it back. He wears it all the time, albeit under his clothing, and he keeps it very safe.

The black thing to the right is Ken's D3. He can repel and ward off presences of evil and darkness with it, it comes with a handy map of his current location while he's in the Digital World, and, of course, he can also evolve Wormmon with it. Also, if he points it at things and concentrates hard enough, he can command the forces of darkness to do his bidding, but this hurts like a mother, so this option is generally reserved as sort of a last resort.
Also, it doubles as a pretty bitchin' alarm clock.

Otherwise, ability-wise, Ken's a pretty normal kid. A kid who's really, really fast and athletic, thinks quickly on his feet, and has a black belt in Judo, but, eh, most people at Paradisa could kick him around without a second thought, so he tends to stay quiet about his extracurricular activities until they're really needed. This information has been mentioned a total of once in the year he's been here, so yeah.

Daisuke "Davis" Motomiya - BFF. Heterosexual life partners. There is bromance between them. It's so canon that it hurts. Etc. He was his very, very first best friend, and woe to anyone who gets in between these two.

AT PARADISA: Left. Again. b'aaaaw

Miyako "Yolei" Inoue - Nice girl, but a little more unwilling to trust Ken at first. Things have smoothed over between them since then, and they have the potential to become very good friends.

AT PARADISA: Ken's asked her to help him build a computer. \o/ They are good. But now she's gone. =(

Iori "Cody" Hida - kaljsdfjkldsfajkldsfjkldfsjkldf Cody. There was so much mutual distrust here that at first it seriously hindered any sort of relationship. Things are better now, but sometimes Ken still feels unsure around him.

AT PARADISA: He is not here and Ken hopes Cody stays where he belongs. Really.

Hikari Yagami - One of the kindest girls he's ever met. They both know firsthand how darn creepy the Dark Ocean is.

AT PARADISA: Is v. worried about her. This is not her castle. =| Good things she's left.

Takaishi Takeru - The boy who, at one point, gave him a good ass-kicking, but since then, they've smoothed things over. Is always surprised about how trusting he is.

AT PARADISA: Not much has changed, but that's definitely a good thing! Is gone.

Yamato Ishida - Mexico buddies! He's as equally as trusting as his little brother, and they get along well. Must be the whole lone wolf/renegade thing they both had going on.

AT PARADISA: WTF, man. WTF. At least he's still being... as nice as he is... usually... UNTIL HE LEAVES what the jesus

Taichi Yagami - Er. Well. At least he doesn't hate Ken anymore...?

AT PARADISA: More of the same, but friendlier! and gone... ded-er.

Takenouchi Sora - She always seemed like a nice girl.

Abel Nightroad: Met over the journal while Ken was taking a poll of the castle residents. Even if Abel isn't... the most self-controlled or mature sort, he's very kind and has a good heart. It sounds like he has a lot of experience in life. Ken thinks he's pretty amazing. Ken talked to him while Abel was a raging mess over Lilith being frozen by Joshua, and... it really does seem like he treasures Lilith deeply, that's for sure. Now that he knows about Lilith's death back in Abel's world, he doesn't blame him for reacting like that. He sees Abel as sort of an uncle, a very close one, but still isn't at a stage where he can tell him everything. That's more Ken's problem, though, and besides, it seems as though Father Abel has a little to hide himself. They seem to have an unspoken agreement to keep out of each other's histories until the time's right. But other than that little niggling worry... Amazing adult, whaaaat. <3

Asano Rin: Met under... unusual... circumstances... but they really hit it off after that. Now considers her a friend, and something to the point of an older sister. She isn't Sam by a long shot, but Ken figures that's a good thing. He really admires how grown-up she is about her life and the things that have happened to her, and hopes he can be that kind of person someday. They are so, so, so cute together. Paradisa will die of diabetes. He realizes that she's been trying to get him to open up, and he appreciates her concern so very much, especially after she's been so open with her past, but a part of him still isn't really okay with himself. There are a lot of horrible things about him that he doesn't ever want to touch again, so he's sitting on that for as long as he can, as bad as her obvious concern makes him feel. If anyone deserves to know about his craziness, she'd probably be the first out of sheer... persistence. Or. Something. idek. But anyway, his stance on that isn't likely to change soon, and the ice-cream in the meantime is nice. <3

Elektra Natachios: ~~HOT MAMA~~ No............. not that. She's very kind, and... somehow as awkward as he is. Which is somewhat confusing. Her social graces seem to be overly developed in some places and decidedly lacking in others. But hey, what's he supposed to know about that kind of stuff, anyway? He won't judge, and will continue to be his usual, relentlessly kind self towards her.

Raine Sage: Why aren't more grown-ups like her, again? One of the first people he met here that he felt he wasn't bothering too much with his questions. He respects her intelligence and enthusiasm and good heart. Definitely one of his most favorite people here. He really looks up to her, and will help her in any way - especially when it comes to research on the castle. He's dropped whatever he was doing in order to help her with anything in regards to the World outside, and he'd gladly do so several times more. ***

Ukitake Jyuushiro: A friendly guy he met through the journals. Ken's never met anyone quite as tranquil as Ukitake-san is, but at the same time, he isn't aloof or anything. Kind of worries him that he was in a military sort of organization at home... He wonders if that means that he got into a lot of fights. Ukitake-san seems too nice for that. Hopes that he doesn't get sick again. Is just glad Ukitake-san's well enough to drink tea with his friends most of the time. Works at the Candy Bonsai now. =)

Freelancer York/Delta: Met during the Wild West world change! He's had a really tough life, and Ken thinks he might be a little lonely a lot of the time. But York's a lot smarter and braver than most adults, and nicer too. He's glad they're friends. Is now totally one of his cool uncles. Delta's really devoted to York, and really polite to everyone else. Ken really admires how kind he is towards everyone else he meets. Ken's sometimes a little jealous that they can have each other around all of the time, but he knows that York and Delta are like how Wormmon and Ken must have been. They're a part of each other, and that's something special. Ken really admires York, but has also seen him through some of the lower valleys in York's time here - he's got awful abandonment issues that Ken can really sympathize with. He's talked him through a lot of trough moments, and doesn't mind talking him through several more. He believes York is a lot stronger than he thinks he is, and he really hopes York comes to see that too.

Barney Stinson: Met while playing soccer. Will always be a little uncomfortable about being called "little bro" after Sam, but it's okay when Barney does it, somehow. It must be the Davis effect.

Chie Satonaka: Met during the Wild West world change! He let her borrow his pants and they hit it off after that. He thinks she's really nice and a lot more bold than he is, and he thinks that's really admirable. Considers her a very good friend by now. ~~CRIP STATUS MOTHERFUCKER~~ Really really hopes that she never ever tells anyone about the time he kicked a puppy. BAD DAYS GET sob. ***

Evangeline Athanasia Kitty McDowell: Met during the Wild West world change! Thinks she's sort of fail at being evil. Then again, so was he. She's a lot nicer than she'd probably like people to think she is. Sure, she can be evil and mean and discouraging, but she likes the nice things in life, too. He's pretty sure she could be a good person if she tried. Really... enjoys teasing her, even though he knows he's tempting fate with every innocent comment he makes. Plus, she's sitting on some... very unsightly information about him, especially regarding his history as the Kaiser/Emperor w/e, and she knows about the Dark Ocean. Which really should worry him a lot more, but he believes that she's nicer than she thinks she is about the whole thing. =) ***

Gold: Met during December of 2009. Call Ken "Bubbles Kid"... that was just once okay... /sob Gold's kind of like Tai. He's been a good friend to Ken so far, and he's very energetic. Ken likes being around people like him. =)

Minato Arisato: A boy he met that was making giant bubbles on the front lawn! Much rare smiling was had! He's quieter than Ken am, but he seems to have a lot of charisma to make up for it, which amazes Ken. Even if he is quiet, he's not at all unfriendly. If anything bad ever happens to him, he'd like to be there for him. It's what a good friend should do. Thinks he's hard to read sometimes. Ken's taken care of Koromaru a few times when Minty couldn't, and they're pretty chill.

Wyborne 'Wybie' Lovat: DERP DERP DERP. This guy is pretty chill, NGL. Ken is pretty sure that Wybie's the closest thing to a normal friend he's gonna get, so normal he tries to stay around him.

Ravi: Someone who asked about Wormmon during Tanabata. He doesn't know what to think of him, but he's certainly friendly. He's getting the feeling that Ravi knows a lot more about him and his world than Ken knows about him, though...

Takamura Uru: Uru is really nice! He didn't know her well at first, but she's really kind and sometimes funny. She's also very normal, for someone who's come to Paradisa. He'll try to help her as much as possible while she's here.

Albus Dumbledore: Cool big bro... thing? Well, if his brother was still around, he'd be about Albus' age, and he's smart and polite to boot. He's heard a little about Albus' family, but doesn't really want to pry. Loves talking with him, though. =D

Amane Misa: Met late one night while he was moping over Davis' return. He thinks she's strange, but nice.

Eighth Doctor: An alien, and one of the very first people Ken met in Paradisa! Has been to the TARDIS. Thinks that he's very interesting indeed.

Lloyd Irving: ... Yes, he's pretty much scarily like Davis. Except older. Can't tell if that's made him smarter or not...

Hellmaster Phibrizzo: Kind of a nice person! He doesn't know him too well, but he'll certainly catch up with him given the chance.

Guilmon: A Digimon! Not one from his own world, but he may be the only thing that makes this whole place feel normal. Having a digimon around, any digimon, makes the weird seem... less weird, somehow. Even if Guilmon's not Ken's partner, he likes to hang around him, because a world with Digimon is safer than a world without. Plus, he's really energetic and fun to be around.

Horaki Hikari: So far, she kinda reminds him of his Hikari from back home. She seems really nice and considerate. He's glad they're acquainted. =)

Neku Sakuraba: They've spoken a few times after leaving the Pokeworld. He seemed to get where Ken was coming from on the subject of friends.

Riley Poole: Is going to help him build a computer! Now they talk about CastleNet and stuff. He's a cool dude.

Subaru Hoshikawa: Met through the journals, then in real life during the Dead Space plot. They seem... very, very alike. When he first met Subaru, he thought he'd be like Davis. He's quickly caught on that even though he's Ken's age, he act like he's much older (and he's definitely smarter than Davis). He really likes having Subaru as a friend.

Ryou Bakura & Yami no Bakura: what

Saetan Daemon SaDiablo: A chance meeting in the snow. Taught him how to make snowmen and proper snowball throwing etiquette! Ken almost considers him a father figure, what with the conversations and the way Saetan treats him. Ken just hopes he doesn't disappoint him with some of his bad qualities.

Tsukasa Futaba: Met through Subaru and plain old guessing. Ken thinks Tsukasa is very mysterious, but is a nice person.

Vergil Sparda: Met... while Vergil was bleeding out after killing James, lol. Ken really, truly sympathizes with him. It's tough, redemption. (Well... he's gone more figuratively, now.

MiscellaneousEdit

He's got a dark spore in the back of his neck. It's kind of freaky, but won't do any harm anymore.

He's extremely intelligent! He's actually semi-famous back home because of it. He could get into an Ivy League university if he wanted to.

Is now living with a... menagerie... lol. He has his Butterfree and Beedrill, Sam and Ryo, from the Pokemon plot, and adopted Kari's Skitty and T.K.'s Togepi around New Years of 2010. He keeps them in a separate room now. He never feels lonely, srs.

... Yes, he has fangirls. Let's not get into that.

He's into video games, but hasn't played any for a while. It's paranoia on his part. He's quite good at them, though.

Nicest laugh in the history of what the fuck ever at 5:00. I'll be using the Japanese VA in Paradisa; as much as I love Derek Stephen Prince, Paku Romi is so much easier on the ears. Also note how surprised his friends of about two months are at the fact that he's actually laughing. Shit's rare man.

Fluent in Spanish. I've extended this to basic knowledge of the Romantic languages, so Ken will be in your business, speakin' in English and French and Italian etc etc etc. BUT NOT NEARLY AS WELL AS SPANISH
