Kotetsu, despite his age, is young at heart. He’s a father and a man who tends to wear his heart on his sleeve. His expressions are there and out in the open for everyone to see—Kotetsu even has a habit of gesturing wildly. He’s a physically emotive person, and unlike those around him, he’s an easy man to read. After all, Kotetsu T. Kaburagi tries his best to give off the air of a seemingly laid-back adult. And while it appears he comes off as a great guy, it’s sometimes obvious he’s trying too hard to keep up the ‘cool adult’ image.

Once past initial introductions, Kotetsu’s more childish side begins to show. Kotetsu enjoys giving other people nicknames, he’s also clumsy as hell, and he’s a guy who doesn’t mind laughing awkwardly. Kotetsu is the only person in the world who could kick a ballpoint pen onto the road, while trying to pick it up, and have it get run over the next second. He’s basically a kid who’s stuck in an old man’s body. From his actions to his words, Kotetsu occasionally fumbles with both when he trying to find the right thing to say or the right course of action. It’s almost hard not to laugh at him, but when it gets down to it, Kotetsu merely shrugs off all the laughs. He’s a man who stumbles, but at least he does so with grace. Or with some, at least.

When all the fun and games are over, however, the man does get reckless from time to time. It’s true, while Kotetsu rarely acts his age—This also gives him the sort of twisted freedom where he does whatever he wants. Kotetsu is a hero, and a big damned hero at that. His job is to dress up in a suit, and take on the name ‘Wild Tiger’, as he cleans up crime for publicity, points, and at the orders of his corporate sponsors. But to hell with the big wigs and live TV shows, Kotetsu is a hero because he wants to be—He rescues civilians in a flashy sort of way, by destroying property and later having to pay for the damages he caused. Although he gets a lot of smack from most of the public and his higher-ups, Kotetsu puts the safety of others first above anything else.

With that, Kotetsu lives a bit of an irresponsible lifestyle. His wife recently passed away five years prior, his daughter lives in the countryside with his mother, and Kotetsu himself now lives alone in the city. And when he’s off the clock? Kotetsu spends most of his time drinking alone or with his friends. But it’s not something he should be doing, especially for a man at his age.

On most days Kotetsu tries his best, but things always tend to get screwed up somehow. From dealing with disgruntled fans to a boss that constantly belittles or ignores his opinions. So when things don’t ultimately go his way, Kotetsu gets a bit frustrated and it results in him finding some type of outlet for his feelings. Whether it be complaining, arguing, or drinking… Even though the man loses his moments, Kotetsu still does his best to keep himself simmered down and calm.

As a hero and as a father, Kotetsu has always made it his number one priority to look out for others than himself. Unfortunately, even though he’s got a lot of heart to give, things never do seem to work out for him. He occasionally frets over his partner, Barnaby, asking him from time to time if he’s been eating right or sleeping well. The older man is usually met with annoyance or irritation, much to his frustration. Kotetsu also keeps in touch with his daughter, Kaede, through calls and although he can only praise her from afar as she slowly grows up… most of their conversations end in arguments or the latter chewing her father out for never visiting her due to ‘work’.

Even so, Kotetsu still wants to help others no matter what. However, when it comes to private issues and his own problems, Kotetsu has the horrible habit of shoving others away. He refuses to accept help for the obvious problems he shoulders on his own. Once his powers were slowly diminishing Kotetsu didn’t have the heart to tell Barnaby, his partner, nor his family until they forced it out of him. In his eyes, no one is required to worry about him and no one really ever should.

Up until his wife’s death, he’s had to make more sacrifices than anyone should take to get where he’s at today. Those crosses to bear are his, and his alone. This puts a lot of stress on himself, but Kotetsu manages to delude himself, thinking he can handle things if he simply continues to smile, lie, and laugh his way through the pain. He’s just too stubborn to let down his walls and allow others in.

Though, for a man with a lot of faults, Kotetsu does have his charm. He’s loving, outwardly emotive, trustworthy, and extremely persistent. It’s no surprise that Kotetsu cares about many things to a ridiculous extent and he’s not afraid to show it. Even after the death of his wife, he still loves her enough to still wear his wedding band proudly on his finger. He’s also known to send his daughter gifts every now and then.

Overall, unless he’s given a major reason not to, he simply loves other people. Kotetsu enjoys giving others second changes and trying to give his peers the benefit of the doubt somehow. Whether it be from their problems or own personal misgivings, he even shows a bit of mercy to the criminals he arrests. While this does make Kotetsu out to be a little gullible and kind a pushover, this goes to show how much of a pure-hearted individual he can be. He’s a man with a lot of ups and downs. Deep down, Kotetsu’s a guy with endless optimism and a heart of gold.

abilities.
Kotetsu's HUNDRED POWER increases his physical capabilities such as strength, speed, and jumping ability, by a hundredfold for five minutes at a time. After those five minutes, he must rest for one hour before activating it again. Barnaby has stated that Kotetsu has strong endurance, and Kotetsu has above-average physical ability due to a daily/weekly exercise regiment. This is demonstrated when he was able to lift a tree without his powers to save Kaede. Kotetsu's attacking forte is in punching, which would indicate that he has the greater strength and endurance of the pair.

With his Hundred Power activated, he is able to punch through walls as well as lift an entire section of train rail and tie it into a knot. He can withstand a bullet wound to the chest at point-blank range with only minimal injury and even taking a flaming crossbolt to the shoulder isn't enough to incapacitate him. During the hero battles, though he appeared to heal himself 100 times faster using his NEXT ability, but in reality Hundred Power may, at most, only be able to speed up cell reproduction to aid in recovery. Kotetsu can also boost the his hearing to enable him to hear faint sounds a considerable distance away, even during a downpour. His signature attack is the "Wild Roar", which appears to push back an opponent with a burst of energy and is generally used right when Kotetsu activates his Hundred Power.

Unfortunately, Kotetsu's busted goods and is bound to slowly lose his powers. It's been stated that, as with a small percentage of NEXT, Kotetsu's powers will continue diminishing and likely fade away entirely. As of now, Kotetsu can only use his Hundred Power for one minute.

In Paradisa, Kotetsu also has his HERO SUIT. The suit is predominantly green, white and black and is equipped with a "LIGHTING MODE" whereby certain lines light up when Kotetsu's Hundred Power is active. Sponsor logos are located on the chest (SoftBank) and shoulder-pads (SoftBank and S.H. Figuarts). The inside of the suit operates much like Tony Stark's JARVIS, how filthy.

Goodlackmodo.png

The suit itself bulletproof and capable of surviving a chainsaw and intense heat. It features a grappling hook of sorts called "WILD SHOOT" which is fired from a device beneath one arm and is often used as a means of speedy transportation, a la Spiderman. The visor includes a timer to tell him how much longer his power will remain active, and the suit's systems seem able to discern information (approximate height and age of a person, makeup of machinery, etc.) simply by locking onto the item in question.

Additionally, it has a feature called "GOOD LUCK MODE" which expands and enlarges one arm of the suit. Though originally thought to increase Kotetsu's punching power, the feature is actually just to look badass. He also has a kawaii uguu tiger emblem on his suit to match Barnaby's bunny one.
