Legato smiles. He eats junkfood. He speaks smoothly and eloquently, with a voice that borders on being downright soothing. At first glance, it might be hard to really notice the utter monster sitting there and watching the people go by. Legato is a monster, however. What little there is left of him that is human, whatever fragments are still reachable, are buried so deep that only he can see them. He knows they must still be there because of the ever-present hate for himself, the same hatred he feels for each and every human. Their ugliness and imperfection, their utter weakness, disgusts and disappoints him. Therefor, long ago, he decided that the only logical solution was that they should be removed from the world; he is a true nihilist. If Legato had the sort of drive and motivation to accomplish such a task on his own, the world would be a very different--and far more empty-- place. Luckily for the world however, Legato's self-loathing has him largely relying on the will of a master, who he serves with suicidal loyalty instead of pursuing his own ambitions. This master was once Knives, but without that presence here, and missing the memories associated with it, Legato now finds himself a little lost. Without a master, he can't help but consider himself hardly more valuable than the average human animal.
Legato makes a clever pet, deadly, with the sort of confidence and fearlessness that comes with believing that you've got nothing else to lose. Without the direction of a master, Legato is left to wander and toy with those around him, in which he finds much enjoyment. Shows of great emotion and turmoil are fascinating to him, and he is quite good at twisting them out of his victims. His favorite target is Vash, who he knows he was meant to endlessly torment but can no longer remember why. Even without a master's orders, Legato will still hound Vash, the one-time owner of the angel arm grafted onto his body. It is this arm that grants him telepathic control over humanity, and it resonates with Vash's simple presence. Beyond that, left to his own devices, Legato searches and watches, and seeks things to enjoy and to thrill him-- from the simple joys of rich foods, to much more sadistic pleasures.
Legato is a broken creature, a man with the mind of a demon and the manner of a smiling predator. His humanity was all but destroyed long ago by the evils of the world, and he wants nothing but to be able to return the favor. Being trapped in this new place however, without a master or reason to be, means that for once his understanding of the world and how it works will be called into question.

---Relationships
Mansionites
- Zelman -- Through a long series of disturbing events, Zelman has fully stepped into the role of 'Master.' As long as Zelman continues on the track that Legato knows he is meant to be on, Legato will do anything for him. Suicidal loyalty is a go!
- Asuka -- She is a human, and a child, but Legato holds her in higher regard than most mortals. Almost admires her for her rabid will, intelligence,
taste in men. Hates her for being Zelman's weakness, but is willing to protect her for that same reason. And we just won't mention the jealousy, and other ugly little things hiding in there... - Dante -- One of the few people that has somehow managed to cultivate more hate in him than usual. Thinks of him as nothing but disgusting and weak, a liability. Hates him for leaving and throwing Zelman in to turmoil, hates him for coming back and somehow making it even worse. Hates that Zelman keeps him around. Will likely refrain from murdering him as long as he is assured of his place with Zelman.
- Joshua Christopher -- He likes this kid. A mortal who overcame his 'handicap' by modifying himself with something more powerful-- he can very much identify with that. Usually likes Joshua's style and likes the way he thinks, both the destructiveness and childishness. Does not mind his company.
Koi
- Jilly -- She keeps showing up where she shouldn't. The first human to unwittingly insist that he remember her name, mark her face, in his mind. She needs to work harder at avoiding him.
- Rin -- A proven valuable asset. The resources that she is connected to, her behavioral patterns, and her contacts make her something worth hanging onto. As long as she continues to be useful, he will do what he can to keep this little wealth safe.
- Colette -- Seems to be completely oblivious to the fact that he is a monster. Quite popular, tends to appear at trying times, could be valuable.
Persons of Note
- Yuki -- Doesn't know what sort of being she is, but the fact that she doesn't seem to be entirely human, and had the capability of healing him, makes her interesting. Does not like the way that she seems to be watching him, however.
- The Fifth Doctor -- A very interesting being, his power is mesmerizing, looking forward to the opportunity to face him again.
- The Eleventh Doctor -- One of the few beings that truly annoy him. Just as powerful as the Fifth Doctor, but somehow even less inclined to step up and demonstrate his ability, and is an exceedingly irritating individual to begin with. Would enjoy causing him pain.
- Eunice -- An irritating woman who insists on pursuing him. Is pushing her luck.
- Agent Jay -- Too easy to torment, but deserves it. A spiteful and wearying mortal. Obviously has not been hurt enough.
- Riful -- A fascination creature of destruction. Is well aware of the fact that she is likely capable of destroying him without effort, but has nevertheless been put in charge of the task of trying to keep her from murdering those living at the mansion. Would like to talk to her sometime. Appreciates her politeness.
- Alucard -- A higher being that he does not understand. Though interesting, the man seems unpredictable and childish. Doesn't know what to think of him.
Indistinguishable Trash
- Everyone else
Went home
- Vash the Stampede -- Would do anything to have him back. Anything. Anything. Anything.
- Delirium -- Genuinely misses her, on some level. Her immortality and lunatic charm really brightened this little world he's stuck in. First person to show him genuine affection.
- Hikari -- Human friend of Asuka's. Intolerable.
- Agent Kay -- Human, partner of Agent Jay. Was useful in tormenting the other man.
---Inventory and Such
- A playing card, the five of spades, 'given' to him by the Fifth Doctor.
- Two pennies, 'given' to him by Eunice Bloom.
---Stuff that Happened
- Spends nearly two weeks healing at the outpost, until Zelman finally retrieves him. He is taken back, but informed that he is not allowed back to the mansion. Waits a few days, and then talks to Asuka. Manages to persuade her to allow him to come back to the mansion and serve as her bodyguard, because he is a manipulative bastard.
- After the craziness of the last world change, Legato needs a more solid direction. So, as part of this plan, he scares Asuka and incites Zelman into attacking him. He expects to be killed, but is instead severely maimed when Zelman opted to set his left arm on fire. Retreats to the outpost, much to Rin's delight.
- Takes out some of his insanity on an innocent family in town, gets someone to splint his hand-- which he'd broken while beating up Zelman and Dante during the highschool world change.
- Highschool world change, Legato gets stuck in a gothy teenage body, stripped of powers. He, understandably, doesn't deal with this well. Things go especially badly when Dante shoves him into a locker, and the Girls have to free him. Things get worse when he run into a drunk Zelman-- ends up being toyed with, beats up Zelman, and then ultimately has a kiss forced on him. It is a very bad day. Takes out his rage on Dante, breaking his knee and putting him in the hospital. Legato spends the rest of the week in jail.
- Tours the Outpost, commits its layout and assets to memory, creeps Rin out.
- Encounters Souji and Yukiko in an alley, makes Souji stab Yukiko... unwittingly aiding to him become an Apostle. The world promptly goes crazy, demons and monsters overwhelm Paradisa. Legato spends most of his time in the middle of a meat-grinder made of townsfolk, to stay safe.
- Joker leaves, throwing off Legato and Zelman's plans, leaving them bored and weird. This is the beginning of something bad.
- Begins to spend alot of time spying on the city, information gathering. Also decides that he will have to get used to interacting with the humans here, and begins to view them as a potential resource. ...Accidentally starts a charity in the process.
- Dante comes back, Legato disovers that he hates the man.
- Dante goes home, throwing Zelman into a frenzy. Legato purposefully gets in the way, gets Zelman to demonstrate his destructive power. What he doesn't expect is Zelman biting him, and everything that entails. He doesn't regret it, however... and it somehow deepens his dedication to him.
- Eleven pisses him off by totally ruining his meal. :\
- Legato moves into the mansion, gets cozy with the previous inhabitants.
- Vash leaves and Legato loses his mind. Takes it out on Subaru. Several people including Cloud try to help but nothing helps-- until Zelman shows up, bitchslaps Legato and takes him to the mansion, giving him a direction.
- The L.A. world change, the Castle is a dick and traps him in the role of a sex worker. This being the first time he's lost his powers, it is especially traumatizing. Vash saves him, Jay beats him up while Eunice watches, he ends up at Colette and Jilly's homeless shelter. Ends up going back and murdering his employer and coworkers, Jay and Eunice try to arrest him but Jilly intervenes.
- Because of what Delirium made him realize, he randomly tests his abilities on numerous Castle residents. Comes up against the Fifth Doctor who defends against and exhausts him. Legato is infatuated with the power.
- Begins investigating the residents of Paradisa by eating in the kitchen. Ends up running into Delirium, who hits him with a few rounds of crazy for trying to invade her mind. He realizes that not all of the residents are worthless humans.
- Arrives in Paradisa, discovers that Vash is also here. Puppets Jilly to drop off a message for Vash.
