PEACE PATROL

Peace Patrol InformationEdit

The Peace Patrol was originally founded by Tony Stark as a means to survey and protect the residents of Paradisa, and also, to the best of their extent, the City Royale. In 2011, Yuan took charge of the Patrol and began to reorganize it, and an attempt at giving it a renewed vigor and more defined structure is being made ... both ICly and OOCly.

OOC Helpers & ContactsEdit

The following muns have expressed interest in running and/or helping run the Peace Patrol. If you are interested in helping as well, please see [this post]. Anything important that needs to be discussed or implemented OOCly will usually be discussed in Paradisa Watch, with the posts linked to in the OOC community.

DutiesEdit

Emergency ResponseEdit

Protect the residents and townspeople in case of an emergency
In other words, mobilize to protect people during castle-wide plots.

In order of importance:

  • Protect people who are unable to protect themselves.
  • Secure a safe-zone
  • Ensure safety of other Peace Patrol members and others with powers
  • Drive back the attackers

At present, Agent Carolina has taken the initiative in organizing an IC Emergency Task Force.

Judicial SystemEdit

Ensure that the residents are held accountable for their actions in a way that's proper and effective
THIS STILL NEEDS A LOT OF WORK AND DISCUSSION, especially with input from muns of characters who are likely to break rules. How do we want things to be handled? There was a trial system set up and in place, but we've only had a couple of successful trials, and interest seems to have petered out.

Investigation

The Peace Patrol is, first, in charge of any investigations involving the residents. They have a standing agreement with the City Royale Law Enforcement that all cases with suspected resident involvement, as well as any and every missing person or murder case, be forwarded to the Peace Patrol. They then investigate the suspected resident involvement and, if needed, move onto apprehending the suspect. The hard copy of the report is filed into the Peace Patrol HQ's information room, with a digital backup copy on the Peace Patrol's information network. Any and all evidence found during an investigation is locked away until the trial.

Criminals, once apprehended, are held in the Peace Patrol's prison facility until the time of their trial. This is also where they are held when found guilty. (See the Floor Plan for more details on the prison.)

Trial

((PENDING REVISION))

Residents are tried in the town by a jury of seven peers, randomly selected from the castle, but ruling out Tony or any Peace Patrol member directly involved, as well as any noted friends or relatives of the accused. The verdict is reached by a majority vote: 4 or more jurists selecting either guilty or not guilty. The random selection is done by computer, and Tony is willing to have knowledgeable people look over the program if they believe it to be rigged (it's not.) Out of character, the selection will be done with a post to the ooc community asking for volunteers.

The Peace Patrol is responsible for the following during trials:

  • To keep the accused in check, should they attempt an escape or an attack on the judge or jury.
  • To present evidence they gathered, and to explain its relevance to the jury and judge should the information be something they are unfamiliar with.
  • To carry out the defendant's sentence, should they be found guilty.

Naturally, the defendant is welcome to (and encouraged) to hire a defense attorney. Finally a chance for those lawyer characters to shine?

PatrolEdit

Ensure the safety of the people by maintaining a presence to catch and deter violent activity In other words, the most basic duty of the Peace Patrol is to... patrol.

Official patrols consist of at least two Peace Patrol members. If possible, at least one has either powers or extensive combat experience. At least one member must also be carrying either their journal or a standard-issue Peaceberry.

Official protocol, upon finding a disturbance, is:

  • Assess the situation.
  • Report the disturbance, with either the journal or Peaceberry.
    • If possible to stop without additional aid, note and then step in to handle.
    • If not, then ask for help.
  • When the situation is resolved, report in with the results.

It's a simple system. But it's efficient. Easy enough to learn, good enough for whatever happens.

EquipmentEdit

The Peace Patrol has a number of useful items available to its members.

Peaceberry

The Peaceberry is an expensive, top-of-the-line phone designed and produced by Tony Stark. This is standard-issue- that is to say, if you're a member of the Peace Patrol, you should have one of these babies. If not, then your pet golem probably ate it.

The Peaceberrys have a reception area that spreads out in a radius of several miles around the castle and City Royale.

In order of importance, the Peaceberry has the following:

  • User-friendly interface for members unfamiliar with modern technology
  • The ability to quickly send a voice message or text message to the entire Peace Patrol. It automatically gets a list of all members and numbers from the information database.
  • Normal cell phone features
  • Internal camera and mic, able to take photographs, movies, and voice recordings
  • Several terabytes of space for all of this
  • MP3 player, and all other standard Blackberry features

Weaponry

The Peace Patrol Headquarters has a fully-stocked armory, obviously only accessible to members. It has most modern firearms, some futuristic firearms, and a full array of medieval weaponry. None of it's magical, but otherwise, it should have whatever your character needs to be an effective member of the Peace Patrol. None of this is standard-issue, but it's all readily available for use.

Information Database

There's an information database in the Peace Patrol Headquarters. It's been encrypted and protected by the best minds available (Tony Stark, several incarnations of the Doctor, and Toshiko Sato) against outside manipulation or access. Suffice it to say, unless you're a registered member of the Peace Patrol, accessing it from the headquarters, you don't have access to this.

  • A detailed dossier of data on their watch list
  • An up-to-date floor map, maintained by York & Delta
  • All City Royale Law Enforcement records concerning missing people, murder, or direct resident involvement
  • Any other relevant/pertinent information as needed

Current PrisonersEdit

Crime: Siege on the castle with the intent to take it over. Many accounts of murder, holding hostages, puppeteering people against their will, conspiring with monsters, etc.
Prisoner Since: Aug 12th, 2011 (in the TARDIS first, moved to cell sometime later)
Special Considerations: Must be kept in Zero cell at all times because of psychic abilities. Has been kept alternating between being confined to a straitjacket and being unbound but sedated, because of the destructive behavior he tended to devolve into.
Mun: Redpyre

Crime: Kidnapping and holding hostages, conspiring with and building tech for badguys, reprogramming Rinzler to infiltrate the PP headquarters
Prisoner Since: August 12th, 2011
Special Considerations: No supernatural abilities, but probably shouldn't be left with anything that he can build stuff out of.
Mun: Redpyre

Crime: Fraternizing with Riful and other such badguys, kidnapping and holding hostages, building things to help badguys succeed in taking over the castle.
Prisoner Since: August 12th, 2011
Special Considerations: He is an immortal vampire who also happens to be a very inventive genius as well. He must be kept in a very indestructible cell and must not be kept in the proximity of things he can build stuff out of.
Mun: Crystal

Peace Patrol Watch ListEdit

Peace Patrol FacilitiesEdit

PPHQ.jpg

All the wide double doors between the Entryway, Antechamber, and Laboratory are mag-lock doors, built with Tony Stark's technology. The door at the bottom end of the hallway is actually the stairwell door/elevator up to the lobby. The thick red line on the Main Area wall is Ray's ghost containment unit. The lab is ideally separated into sections for Brennan & her forensics crew, and any other scientific experiments/workspace for anyone developing defense tech.

The two Zero Cells were designed by the Fifth Doctor, and are specifically designed to contain prisoners with the ability to mentally control people. They implement Gallifreyan Zero technology, which cuts off any mental and temporal links to the inhabitant from the outside world. For more information on how the Zero Cells work, see the Zero Room section of Five's TARDIS. All other prison cells are superbly reinforced, to help contain any prisoners with abnormal strength.

Also, in the interest of security, each Peace Patrol member will be issued a key that opens the mag-lock doors - but all keys have been enchanted by Hermione Granger to look like everyday items that the member would carry.

The Laboratory Edit

The three labs on the left are up for grabs for anyone who needs research or engineering space. There are storage lockers and cabinets in the hallway, and a closet that leads into the hallway for whomever wants to store things in there.

The forensics lab is open to anyone doing any sort of forensic work. There's also a bone storage room and autopsy room, and then Temperance Brennan's office/lab space. The whole area resembles the Jeffersonian forensic lab, which can be seen here.
