History
Edit
(from application) | to her canon point; does not cover anything that is specific to seasons four +.
Piper is a witch, more specifically, a Charmed One. In a nutshell, the Charmed Ones are the most powerful witches to ever exist. However, being a witch does not define Piper. After coming into her powers at the age of twenty-six, Piper found herself growing as a person. She, herself, defined who she was as a witch; being a witch did not define who she was.
Piper is the middle sister. Her older sister, Prue, took care of Piper and Phoebe while they were growing up after the death of their mother. Her younger sister, Phoebe, was the wild, irresponsible sister who regularly clashed with Prue. Piper found herself to be the mediator between Prue and Phoebe, and didn’t have much sense of who she was as she played Switzerland between the two. During her high school years, Piper wasn’t the most popular student in the year. She considered herself nerdy and geeky, and disliked high school very much. She was reluctant to attend her reunion as there had been no development in her life besides becoming a super powerful witch. She cared too much about what others thought of her.
After the death of Grams, the sisters split up. Piper was closer to Prue as Phoebe moved to New York and Piper and Prue into an apartment in North Beach. Being the middle sister seemed to play a large role in who Piper was as a person. When first introduced to Piper, she was meek and shy. She let people walk all over her, despite her own protestations to her sisters. She never had the courage to stand up for herself as she liked to please people. And if there was a problem, Prue was the one who would offer to stand up for Piper. Piper has an incredibly hard time saying “no”. An example is while working at Quake, her boss would ask her to do a list of things, even if she had worked a double-shift earlier that day. He only did this as he knew she wouldn’t say no. It took a lot of courage for Piper to stand up for herself and quit her job, finally admitting that working as a manager at the restaurant was not the same as fulfilling her dream of being a chef.
As Piper came into her powers, she started to grow confident - albeit slowly. It can be seen that after Piper gained her Charmed status, she started to realise what she wanted in life - and that was not to be a witch. Piper craved a normal life. Despite how she may be seen to accept the craft, Piper still longs for that normal life where magic is not involved. Even though the spell to relinquish their powers had been burned in their first year as witches, Piper still remembers the spell perfectly. In Piper’s dream world, she’d live a life without magic.
As she grew more confident, Piper slowly developed into a sarcastic and quick-witted woman. Prue's death played a significant part in the change in Piper's personality. She was angry, taking over the role Prue left behind as the leader of the trio as she hunted down demons instead of grieving for her loss. She took on a lot more responsibility and can be seen owning character traits similar to Prue's demon vanquishing oriented mind. Piper does calm down in this sense after she deals with Prue’s death. She still craves that normal life with Leo and dislikes the interference of magic, especially since it took away her big sister. Piper still grieves and misses Prue, even after coming to terms with her death.
She is uncomfortable around children, as expressed early in the series. However, a fear of hers is to have a child and leave them motherless, just like her mother did to her. Piper worries that the constant demonic attacks will end up harming her child. She does want children with Leo; however, the timing isn’t quite right during her third and early fourth years of being a witch.
Family is important to Piper. She cares deeply for them, as she was willing to stay with Grams during her early twenties and take care of her before her death. She was absolutely devastated when they lost Grams. Despite the bad blood existing between Prue and their father, Victor, Piper was always warm and affectionate whenever he came to visit. She soon repaired her strained relationship with her father and he developed a more active role in her life. After Prue's death, Piper is ready to give up her Charmed status due to her grief and anger over losing Prue.
Piper didn’t leave for college as she was insecure with leaving home. It’s a small regret of hers that arises when Phoebe returns to college. Piper is proud of her sister for returning to school to pursue her dreams. However, Piper’s own dreams are put on hold due to her Charmed life.
Her Charmed life has effected her friendships. Her friendships are strained and distant at best. This is another aspect of what Piper craves in a normal life. She wants to exist outside of her Charmed status and quit putting her life – family, children, relationships, work and friendships – on hold to vanquish demons. Piper struggles to maintain her friendships and make time for others. She’s determined to retain her friendships despite the interference of magic.
Piper’s dream is to be a chef. She is exceptionally good in the kitchen, thus making her an excellent potions master. This dream was put on hold after coming into her powers. However, she did attempt to gain it by taking a job at Quake. She had originally auditioned for a position as a chef but ended up with a manager’s job. Piper wasn’t happy about this, however, as it was an income, she kept with it. After being incredibly unhappy with it, as her boss pushed her around and she didn’t stand up for herself, she quit her job at Quake after realising that being the manager of the restaurant wasn’t fulfilling her dream of being a chef. Piper soon opened her own club, P3, which would fill the void of her dream for several years. She may not be a chef professionally, but she cooks at home for friends and her family. When she’s nervous, she cooks as she likes to do something with her hands.

Individual Powers
Edit
Molecular Immobilisation:
The ability to slow down molecules to the point where they freeze. This power is often referred to as "freezing" and was thought to have been 'stopping time'. Piper uses her hands. This is her primary power she received in 1x01 Something Wicca This Way Comes.
Originally triggered by fear, Piper is able to use this power at will. The power has grown to the point where she can selectively freeze parts of the anatomy or parts of a crowd (for example, freeze everyone except for a select few). She can also freeze using one hand rather than two.
However, this power cannot be used on good witches. In other words, they simply don't freeze. It also does not effect Upper Level demons or beings. They either don't freeze or freeze but fight through it.
Her power continues to grow.
Molecular Combustion:
The ability to speed up molecules to the point where they combust. This is usually regarded as her exploding power. She came into this power in 3x20 Exit Strategy. It is triggered by anger. This is an extremely rare power and is an advancement of her Molecular Immobilisation.
Piper uses her hands to use this power. As Piper is taken from 3x22 All Hell Breaks Loose, she is still learning to control this power. She is weary of and would rather not use it.
Note: As Piper has recently gained Molecular Combustion, her powers are rather wonky and instead of freezing when she wants to, she can, instead, make things explode. This isn't helped by her emotions as her individual powers are tied to them.
Charmed
Edit
The Power of Three:
The collective power of the three sisters enhances their powers. This is what makes them powerful. The Power of Three spell can defeat almost any demon.
High Resistance:
When united with her sisters, this makes Piper (and sisters) resistant to outside powers, such as being hit by a fireball. It is only active when united with her sisters. (This is evident when the Source attacks the sisters in 4x13 Charmed and Dangerous, when the Source throws a fireball at Piper and she is thrown into the wall. She is barely conscious, but does not die from the impact of the fireball as many other demons and witches have in the past.)

Relationships
Edit
Covers pre-series to early season four.
Canon
Edit
- Prue Halliwell: Piper looked up to her older sister. She was close to her, having moved out of the Manor after Grams' death and into an apartment with her. Piper was to be her maid of honour at her wedding to Roger (a slimeball) until Prue broke off the engagement. Prue was all for Piper's forbidden wedding to Leo, implying that Prue wanted what was best for Piper. When Prue died, Piper took it exceptionally hard. After Prue's death, Piper felt as though she needed to step up and fill in her shoes. This was a hard stask as Prue was a "super witch" and Piper felt as though she'd never measure up. Piper continues to miss Prue.
- Phoebe Halliwell: Phoebe is Piper's younger sister. Piper spent a lot of her early life trying to keep the peace between Prue and Phoebe. When Phoebe returns from New York and reawakens the Charmed legacy, Piper is at first extremely reluctant to be open to her new life and her powers. Phoebe, however, embraces it, and encourages Piper (and Prue) to do so, too. Piper continues to struggle with this. Phoebe's return meant that the bond between Piper and Phoebe could repair itself. The two grew closer. Piper is proud of Phoebe when she decides to pursue tertiary study at college, having never found the courage to go for her own degree herself. Phoebe was at first against Piper's forbidden marriage to Leo, having feared the consequences (as they were, essentially, 'you'll be smited') but after some advice from Grams, Phoebe gave Piper and Leo her blessing.
- Paige Matthews: Paige doesn't enter Piper's life until the death of Prue. At first, she is resistant to accepting Paige as her sister and as a part of the Power of Three, but eventually comes to terms with her half-sister and forms a friendly relationship with her. Piper tries to teach Paige the ropes, creating quizzes in order to catch Paige up to speed with the information Piper and Phoebe learnt during their three years prior with Prue.
- Leo Wyatt: Leo enters Piper's life as a handyman. Phoebe and Piper both showed interest at him, with both of them competing for his affections. While under the Truth Spell, Phoebe admitted that she was only pursuing Leo because Piper was "into" him. With Phoebe's encouragement, Piper was bold enough to ask him out on a date. When Leo was exposed as a Whitelighter - a guide (or guardian angel) for witches - Piper and Leo's relationship was strained. After admitting that she loved him, while fearing that he'd die due to a Darklighter's arrow, the two separated as it was forbidden that a Whitelighter and witch be involved. Their relationship continued to be strained with this rule. Piper began dating Dan, resulting in Leo's jealousy and Piper's conflicting feelings for the two men. After she suffers from Oroya Fever, havign died, Leo breaks the rules and heals Piper. As a result, Leo has his wings clipped, and declares that he'll fight for Piper. Eventually, Piper breaks up with Dan, and rekindles her relationship with Leo - with even more obstacles. They're forbidden to get married, but try nontheless - an attempt resulting in Leo being taken away from the sisters. He's brought back to the sisters after a declaration from Piper - having not wanting to be responsible for the death of an innocent due to her "strike" against magic (a result of Leo being snatched away from her) - and the two are allowed to wed.
- Cole Turner: Cole enters the sisters' lives under the guise of a D.A. He begins a relationship with Phoebe, much to Prue's dismay. Piper believed that Cole did love Phoebe, despite his uglier demonic half, and even though she shared similar beliefs with Prue, she was more leniant and understanding of Cole's nature. Having been given her second power, Piper began to understand Cole's struggle for control with his demonic nature, and was even sympathetic towards him. Cole attended Piper's wedding, having proved himself to be a doer of good, despite his struggles, and is almost like a normal part of the family at times. After Prue's death, Piper and Cole snark at each other. She's accepting of Cole, despite Paige's concerns over his demonic half, and even stands up for him. For someone who doesn't particularly fancy demons, it can almost be said that Piper liked Cole. Her way of showing it was through witty comments and a guise of dislike.

Paradisa
Edit
- Paige Matthews: Piper doesn't know what to make of Paige, having met the girl through the journals and having her seem so ... worrying that she almost closed the journal on Piper (freaking her out and having her ask Paige whether she'll really be back). Cole's steering Piper away from establishing anything with Paige, but Piper is starting a rather slow and tentative friendship with the girl. She's unsure as to what's really going on inside her head, but she's someone who seems open to starting a friendship with a new arrival in Paradisa.
- Cole Turner: Piper is at first reluctant to trust Cole, having come from a day where he was considered going back to his old habits, but he soon proves himself to be a rather different Cole. She initiates an alliance between the two, something odd for her, as she wants to try and keep her ties to her past while she struggles with her present. And she doesn't quite mind Cole - he's nice company. Sometimes. When he pursues legal action against Rose, Piper soon begins to realise that despite Cole's inner struggles with his demonic nature, he really is trying to do good - the best way he understands it. She won't tell him with words, but she's proud of him for pursuing the case wearing his true skin - hot red and tribal marks and all the ugly warts that go with it - and tries to remind him that despite his losing of the case, he did a good thing. She's slowly starting to trust Cole, and beginning to rely on him. It can almost be said that there's a tentative friendship growing here.
- Jamie McCrimmon: He calls Cole a beastie. And plays the bagpipes. And is from Scotland. Piper has fun with her interactions with Jamie, having met him through his journal when discussing the summons for the Trial. She hopes she can run into him again; if only to encourage him to play the 'pipes right outside Cole's room.
- Lady Marian: A tentative friendship is blossoming here. When Marian is bitten by Rose and is in the clinic, she asks Piper to come visit her - which she does. Piper is a bit nervous with starting a friendship with Marian, having lost most contact with her mortal friends back at home, but the woman is ever-so persistant. Marian tries to get Piper out of the castle more, out of her shell, and pushes her to form that 'no' into a 'yes'. Some of her questions about magic and Cole, however, have Piper raise her guard up. Despite Marian hearing from the jury box grapevine about Piper's display of magic, she's not incredibly open or willing to confirm Marian's theory of Piper being a witch. She's not too sure why, but a guess is that Piper wants to separate who she is from what she is - and is fearful of people only forming relationships with her for her gift. Piper things Marian is sweet and overall a good influence on her, despite her own openness to resist Marian's attempts at getting Piper out more.

Room
Edit
Floor: Eleven
Room: 1111
Room's Appearance: Piper's room is a mirror image of the one she left at the Manor - only with a few modifications. It's a bit bigger, with a bit more leg room for her abundance of shoes (which, if her wishing has anything to do with it, there will be a 'lot') and it has it's own bathroom.

Significant Events
Edit
- Introduction; learns that she was here before.
- Initiates an alliance with Cole.
- Tentatively starts a friendship with Paige Matthews, unbeknowest to her that she's her half-sister and very much struggling with Piper's arrival.
- Tentatively starts a friendship with Lady Marian.
- Becomes a member of Chimera.
- Easter - Easter eggs everywhere.
- Trial against Rose - Piper was a jury member. One of the three who voted guilty. She saw that Cole was trying to do some good in Paradisa, despite wearing his demonic skin due to a loss.
- Comes to the conclusion that she really likes Jamie, for he bugs Cole.
- Slowly beginning to realise that perhaps her relationship with Leo is her loss, though she always seems to run away from it before it's confirmed. (This usually happens during interactions with Cole. He takes a few steps back whenever Piper seems to be getting upset over it.) In turn, Piper is starting to realise that her only confidante from home doesn't remember his true love.
- Can I has a babby plot.
Losses
Edit
Permanent Loss: Her relationship with Leo Wyatt. She remembers him as her Whitelighter, but nothing more. (Hence, no marriage, no breaking the rules, no angst of season two.)
Notes
Edit
- If Piper is to use her powers, it will mostly be the Molecular Immobilisation one as it is not an offensive power.
- I do not plan on having Piper use her Molecular Combustion on anyone. If she's to use it, she'll misaim like she does in 3x20 and 3x21. If she's to use it and not miss, it'll be discussed thoroughly with the mun of the character whom is going to have this power used on them. I'll seek permission before pursuing this if it is my idea.
