☂Personality Edit

she loves her man, rly
PterodotylAdded by Pterodotyl

On the outside Riful acts all sweet and polite: her tone is almost always kind and conversational, she always uses the proper degree of honorific and respect when talking to even those she would consider to be "lower" than her. She's always smiling and always gentle-looking...but that's about as far as that personality goes. Even if her demeanor is that of a polite little girl her words certainly aren't. Riful doesn't shed a single tear for those who die nor does she seem to have any regard for the lives of those she could potentially consider "allies." She does however enjoy when proper respect is shown back to her and is impressed by good manners/common sense.

To Riful it makes perfect sense that those who are too weak to be of any use to her should be destroyed/killed. It is regrettable yes, but it can't be helped if they're weak. She doesn't see the residents of Paradisa as enemies or in fact as any sort of threat to her at all; they're more people that could possess the potential to become her allies...providing they're strong enough anyway. Riful holds no particular animosity toward anyone and does not dislike anyone in particular. To her they are nothing more than the inhabitants of an area she moves through. She may sincerely plead for them to give up and allow themselves to join her/become her allies to save themselves from pain, but there's no way she'd show any mercy to them. She enjoys the whole process and does not take fighting or encountering anyone seriously.

As far as humans are concerned they're equivalent to cattle, pigs, chicken, etc. Every species has another they need to prey on, so it's only natural for her to go about eating the townspeople on Paradisa when no specific motives are put in place to prevent her. The way she sees it, the general Paradisan consensus is that they simply don't matter as much as residents do so it shouldn't matter how many of them she eats. She won't go on a murdering rampage or anything like that but if she's peckish it's not as if she'll hesitate to grab herself a snack. Riful also takes an interest in the strong and those with potential, so even if she lets someone "go" for the time being it's not an act of mercy so much as it is biding her time patiently to see if she can get a better result...her views on friendship are rather twisted.

Riful really does want friends and allies though; it's not as if she's lacking in any form of intelligence. In fact it could be said that Riful is actually somewhat of a strategic mastermind. She had boundless patience when it comes to watching and waiting and loves to watch and observe others. She never gets into unnecessary conflicts or situations that do not turn in her favor and will choose to set aside her own personal tastes for what could potentially become useful to her in the future (ie. choosing not to kill someone so as to observe their growth in power). Those who work hard and struggle to do their very best while working together with others to become an even greater force are her favorite kinds of people. When Riful becomes impressed enough she sometimes "rewards" them by either letting them live or sparing undue suffering.

The only time she really gets angry is further on in canon when she's eventually overtaken by several Abyssal Eaters and the Alicia/Beth combo--but even then she displays it more like childish frustration, even crying a little. Dauf seems to be the only person she really cares for. She even goes so far as to tell him to run when they come face-to-face with Priscilla in the hopes of him surviving.

☂Appearance Edit

Riful at full-mast

☇Human Form Edit

In this form Riful looks no older than 14 at most and retains the appearance of a young girl with a kind but distant smile. She has long brown hair that never grows or changes and is almost always wearing a plain white dress. She never wear shoes or undergarments and does not give off a sensation of Yoki (or aura) unless one knows how to look for it. While in this form Riful is notably NOT at full-strength although she is still a force to be reckoned with. When Awakened Beings unleash their full strength they assume their Awakened forms, and when they no longer have the energy to maintain that they revert to their human forms. So it's kind of a backward ideal--to become their strongest they have to expend energy.

☇Awakened Form Edit

In this form Riful takes on the appearance of a woman's upper torso made entirely from tendrils of a blackened-brown, steel-like substance that gleams like a metallic surface. She is roughly 4~5 stories tall at full height 20 FUCKING STORIES TALL, ABOUT 203.5 FEET, but this is subjected to the meshed umbrella of tendrils that make up the rest of her body. She also appears to have control over how "big" she composes herself, so her size can be bigger or smaller depending on what she needs. These can extend over an area of about 1km (0.62 miles). In this form her aura can still be suppressed, although it takes on the "power level" of an ordinary Awakened Being.

☂Powers & Abilities Edit

her body isn't the easiest in the world to cut

☇Claymore-Related Edit

Superior Combat Ability:

  • Having once been the ranked Number One in the Organization, Riful has a vast mass of knowledge concerning fighting techniques used to oppose Yoma, a variety of sword techniques, and knowing the limits of a Warrior's body.

Yoki:

  • The power behind all Yoma, this force grants Claymore superior strength, agility, and regenerative abilities far superior to humans.

Yoki-Sensing:

  • The ability to detect the usage of Yoki, energy used by Yoma, Claymores, and Awakened Beings. She can sense where someone is, how strong they are, and normally "who" it belongs to. This applies only to Teresa.

Yoki-hiding:

  • The ability to hide her aura/power from prying eyes. This is most effective in her human form, although she can mask her "real" power while in her Awakened form as well.

☇Awakened One-Related Edit

Body-Type:

  • Riful's body is harder than steel and is impervious to most regular attacks. Likewise it can cut through almost anything (even herself!) and is made up of ribbons upon ribbons of flesh woven together making it impossible to kill her by simply "cutting off her head". Her body is virtually impervious to harm from normal attacks unless one builds up MASSIVE momentum/power for their blows. Here is a helpful video that will give you a better idea of how all this works!

Regeneration:

  • Depending on how much energy she has, Riful is able to recover from almost any injury she sustains. 90% of the time she will be able to recover from any damage she sustains.

Mass-Yoki:

  • Awakening as the Number One-ranked warrior makes Riful one of the four Strongest Beings in Claymore. Her sheer amount of Yoki is enough to make even the toughest warriors tremble in fear when fully unleashed, and it is this sheer amount of energy that gives her all her strength.

Superior Senses:

  • Smelling, hearing, and sight are all vastly superior. She can smell humans from a great distance and if they're bleeding? Make that miles. Darkness does not affect her vision.

Intelligence:

  • Thanks to being an Awakened One Riful does not age and therefor has lived for a very, very long time. She has amassed patience and wisdom over that time that allows her to foresee situations and predict outcomes. She is almost always calculating the best way for her to achieve her goals and will never be 100% honest about her motives.

☇Offensive Capabilities Edit

Tendrils:

  • Riful is able to launch a countless and endless assault of projectiles made up of her own body. Every part of her is a weapon; think of her as a collection of coiled and impossible sharp blade-like ribbons she uses to cut, stab, slice, and tear apart any who stand in her path.
  • These can also be used to bind, constrict, or restrain people and she is able to "disassemble" herself at any time without warning.

Speed:

  • She is able to keep up with the fastest of Warriors in Claymore canon, and as well she can use her unique body-type to propel herself through the air and vanish in an instant.

Strength:

  • Able to lift impossible amounts of weight, Riful could probably break off one of the Castle's towers and hold it with some effort.

☇Weaknesses Edit

Regeneration:

  • Limited to the amount of Yoki she has, which is reliant on how much she has eaten and how much rest she has had.

Yoki-senseing:

  • She cannot sense the powers/abilities/how strong someone is unless they have Yoki. Which applies to no one but Teresa in Paradisa.

Knowledge:

  • Riful is ignorant about many things in the modern era; when she first encountered being shocked by electricity she had no idea what the sensation was.

Human form:

  • The time when she's at her weakest is when she transforms from human to Awakened form. If her energy runs low enough she becomes unable to regenerate any longer and decapitating her becomes possible. If enough of her is damaged she will die as well.

☂Background Edit

☇In Canon Edit

The first Number One-ranked warrior to ever Awaken, Riful took with her the Number Three-ranked Male warrior named Dauf as her lover and settled in the Western lands. Sometime later during Claymore canon time she began gathering allies to combat Isley, another Dweller of the Deep. Because of the sheer amount of power each Dweller has the Organization does not bother them and avoids conflict when at all possible.

Taken from the Claymore wiki:

Riful first encounters Clare when she comes to rescue Jean. Riful wanted to create a powerful army full of Awakened Beings and was torturing Claymores in order to make them Awaken, which is why she had imprisoned Jean, Katea and Raquel. Riful decided to let Clare fight with Dauf while she sat and watched from the side. Galatea then got involved, giving Clare time to save Jean. Dauf was overwhelmed by the three Claymores, causing Riful to end the fight. She decided she wanted to 'recruit' the three to her army, but left them time in order to get stronger before turning them into her Awakened allies. Riful also suggested that the only way to beat Isley was for the three to join her.

She later appeared before Isley after Luciela's defeat, warning him to not expand into her territory. It was then she realized that there was something amiss regarding the story of Isley defeating Priscilla. She noted that Priscilla was much stronger than either Isley or herself, and that in order to have stood a chance against her she and Luciela would have had to work together. A chance Isley removed by launching a preemptive attack and blindsiding them to Priscilla's true power. This was one of the few times where she showed real anger, and shortly thereafter she spent the next seven years trying to gather more allies: particularly those who excel in Yoki-perception and reading.

☇Persons of Interest Edit

  • Teresa of the Faint Smile: A former Number One-ranked Warrior from home. She has partially-Awakened similar to Clare back home.
  • Allen Walker: His Innocence is able to harm her normally nigh-impenetrable body, his hair and eye colors are reminiscent of a Claymore's, and the manner in which his Innocence changes form and reacts is akin to a Yoma's.
  • Cross Marian: Another Exorcist able of harming her body. She finds him a good source of information and interesting to talk to.
  • Julian "Hellion" Keller: A telekinetic able to withstand her attacks as well as damage her body. He's apparently missing his hands now.
  • Damian Wayne: A young boy who managed to punch her.
  • Sylvanas Windrunner: A peculiar woman who not only managed to shoot her with an arrow, but also was inside her manor at one point and had no fear of her presence.
  • Venom/Eddie Brock: A beast that reminds her of male Awakened Warriors back home. He has the same appetite/intelligence level, yet also seems to have a "human" side.
  • Dick Grayson: Used a "strange, numbing sensation" on her. Electricity.
  • Akihiko Sanada: Used a "strange, numbing sensation" on her. Electricity.
  • Faye Valentine: Operated a strange flying device that fired projectiles in vast quantities.
  • Erica Hartmann: Used peculiar futuristic weaponry.
  • Dante Sparda: Carries the physical traits of a Male Claymore and even transforms like one too! He regenerates which is a bonus, since she enjoys eating his guts.
  • Zelman Clock: Invited her to his mansion knowing who and what she was. She does not trust or in fact like him, but she thinks he may be useful at some point.
  • Joshua Christopher: One of the residents at Zelman's mansion. He shows promise of being strong...
  • Asuka Langley Soryu: A girl who stayed at Zelman's. Riful is curious as to why he keeps her around...she wouldn't mind eating her to provoke him sometime.
  • Arthas Menethil: New resident that caught her eye immediately. He seems quite strong~

AND MANY OTHERS. Probably.
