abilities & traits

Added by PolvoiceAnti-Akuma weapon → Her left arm can transform into an anti-Akuma weapon ("Cross"): a holy, glowing fork claw that has the ability to destroy other Akuma and purify their souls. Unfortunately, the weapon saps power from the seal that keeps her own Akuma side in check, and keeping it activated for too long (like, a few minutes) weakens the seal and the stitches start to split apart. If she pushes herself too hard for too long, her entire face splits in half :(
⇒ AKUMA ABILITIES
[note: to use these, Robin must consciously weaken her seal for a short period of time by pressing the symbol on her forehead.]
→ She can jump really high, really fast. She can apparently move at supersonic speeds and can land with enough force to blast a hole through solid stone. idk. She gets tiny demon wings with she does it, too.
→ The pupil and iris of her left eye can transform into glowing gear shapes and lock onto Akuma targets from a distance. Robin is able to hear/sense Akuma souls.
⇒ AKUMA TRAITS
→ Anyone who can sense demons/dark energy/dark matter will be able to sense Robin as being such.
→ Likewise, anyone who can sense holy energy will pick that up from her left arm- at least when it's activated.
→ Although Robin's skin can be damaged like a human's (if you cut her, she bleeds, etc.), the Akuma underneath cannot be damaged by anything other than Innocence. Which means she can be harmed by conventional methods but never destroyed by anyone other than an Exorcist
→ Robin heals faster and can take much more damage than a human. She's shown being shot multiple times by two Akuma, and getting back up to fight a few seconds later.
→ And she doesn't have the Akuma blood virus, so you're fine if she bleeds all over you :|b
→ If Robin wears down her seal, or is in the presence of the Earl, a Noah, or another Akuma, the stitches on her face begin to weaken and her face will start to split. And there appears to just be a black void of nothing underneath her skin.
→ Due to... being a demonic robot, Robin has no internal organs or skeletal structure.
→ Unlike the converted Akuma in DGM, Robin cannot safely switch between her Akuma and human forms.
history
Edit
In 1895, two years prior to the start of Zone canon, a young woman named Julia died at sea when a ship called the Nivôse sank in a storm. An immortal sorcerer known as the Earl of the Millennium paid a visit to her little brother (and likely only surviving relative), Robin. The Earl promised to bring Julia back from the sea, if Robin would sign a simple paper contract. Robin signed the contract to resurrect his sister, and successfully brought back her soul, trapping it in an immobile robotic form. It turns out that the Earl's offer was a trick, and he killed Robin by stabbing him through the chest with hisBFS. Using Robin's skin and Julia's soul, he created an Akuma: a demonic mechanical weapon powered by a human soul and given a human skin to blend into society.
The resulting Akuma- Julia's soul "wearing" Robin's skin- calls herself "Robin" and has adopted his identity. She is the only Akuma that is free from the Earl's control, thanks to the magical seal located on her forehead likely given to her by her Master, General Cross. The stitches running down the left side of her face keep her demonic side in check, and alert her when the Earl or Akuma are near. Cross also transplanted his own anti-Akuma weapon arm onto Robin in place of her left arm, so that she may fight Akuma and the Earl herself. Robin's goal is to stop the Earl and to free the imprisoned souls of her fellow Akuma by destroying their bodies with her purifying anti-Akuma weapon.

CANON
- General Cross (Master) → Master ;; He's a gruff, unhinged, abusive bastard- although he's really not entirely a bad person. Robin is both unfailingly loyal to him and terrified of him. He's the one who freed her from the Earl's control and trained her to be an Exorcist, and eventually gave her his prized anti-Akuma arm. She owes him everything, and tries to look out for him. He doesn't appreciate it.
- Lenalee → A half-Japanese girl from Osaka who works at a teahouse. Robin totally has the hots for her. But it turns out that Lenalee's fiancee died on the Nivôse two years ago, and Lenalee has signed the Earl's contract to resurrect him. Not cool.

notes
Edit
→ Zone was the pilot manga for D.Gray-Man, and Robin was the original character concept for Allen Walker.
→ Robin is physically male and has adopted a male persona. Although I refer to her as exclusively female OOC, she should be treated as a male IC, unless a character is aware of the gender of her soul.
