appearance
Edit
Firstly, Teresa is tall. She has the body of a woman who can do some damage. She's lean but muscular, and it's especially apparent on her arms, legs, and abdomen. Yet she still has curves in all the right places, leaving her with a womanly figure. Her chest is rather impressive :|b
Like all Claymores, Teresa has blond hair and silver eyes. Her hair is wavy and falls just below her shoulder blades. Her eyes tend to be a bit... shiny, which makes them silver instead of gray. Teresa has a pretty, doll-like face. And like her title says, her default expression is a faint smile. Sometimes it's hardly noticeable.
As for clothing, Teresa dresses simply. Tight leather, bracers, boots, light armor. In Paradisa, she's abandoned her organization garb, but dresses in a similar style. Her sword is with her at almost all times, strapped to her back. Near the hilt of the blade is the only thing she has that ties her to the organization--her symbol.
If anyone were to happen to catch Teresa with her clothes off, they'll be sorely disappointed if not sick to their stomach. Teresa has a nasty stigma on her abdomen. It's unknown what it looks like exactly, but it's bad. She doesn't go out of her way to hide it (she's not modest) but... catching sight of it without her knowing is all but impossible.
Teresa walks and moves like a warrior. She might sit lazily, legs crossed or knee bent, but Teresa can be intimidating. Even though silver eyes and blond hair might not be strange for some, Teresa gives the impression of something not quite human.
background
Edit
Teresa's family was killed by yoma when she was a young girl, and the village she lived in sold her to the organization. The organization proceeded to condition her to become a skilled warrior, and her keen ability to sense yoki was apparent at a young age. She would often run off from her handlers and into the woods where there were a number of dangers and was quickly recognized as a problem child. Nevertheless, Teresa got her symbol and was certified.
When she rose to rank one, the previous rank holder, Rosemary, was demoted to number two. Rosemary sent Teresa a black card, surprising Teresa because she wasn't close at all to her--but her rage over losing her spot caused her to become an Awakened Being, and the card was a trap for Teresa. However, Teresa was able to take down the awakened former number one with almost no trouble, only releasing ten percent of her energy because she felt like she would forget how to if she didn't do it sometimes.
Eventually, Teresa was sent to a village to exterminate a handful of yoma. The last one she killed had been keeping a human girl as a pet, abusing her and using her as a plaything. The girl clung to Teresa, much to her annoyance. Despite physically kicking the girl away and walking for miles upon miles, she insisted on following Teresa, unable to speak. Teresa gave her the name Clare, after one of the twin goddesses of love--the other one was named Teresa. Despite her initial reluctance, Teresa found herself becoming fond of the girl.
Things drastically changed when Clare finally managed to talk, telling Teresa that she followed her because she shared the same hurt that she saw in Teresa's eyes. Teresa then realized that the girl was comforting her, because that was the one thing she wanted someone to do for her. This broke down all the walls Teresa had put up, and so she decided to do what she thought was best for Clare: to leave her with a human family, so that she could live and die like a human.
Despite Clare's tearful protests, Teresa left her in a village of humans. It wasn't too long after that she saw bandits heading toward the town, and she raced back in order to save Clare from the situation she had let her fall into. Enraged, Teresa saved a beaten Clare and killed all the bandits, and thus was marked for death by the organization for breaking their cardinal rule.
Five Claymores were sent to execute Teresa, but she cut them down and left to find a peaceful place to stay with Clare. Sensing the gravity of the situation, the organization sent Claymores two through five to kill Teresa. Teresa was able to take down Irene, Sophia, and Noel without problem, and let them live because she knew they didn't have a chance at taking her head. But Priscilla, the new number two, was another story--she had the ability to mask her energy and thus had the potential to become the new number one. Thinking of Clare moved Teresa enough to let the frightened Priscilla live, and she and Clare left the town.
But Priscilla, furious and out of control, pursued Teresa on her own. Still a rookie, she released too much of her power and began to reach the point of no return. Teresa, realizing she had to be serious, took her down by releasing ten percent of her power. Either as a trick or as a last desperate cry of humanity, Priscilla began to cry and beg Teresa to save her. The only way to do this was by decapitating her. Teresa dropped her guard and was about to kill her, but Priscilla chopped off both her hands as well as her head, killing her instantly.
personality
Edit
At one time, Teresa was a cold-blooded killer that did only as the organization told her. She helped villages because it was her job, not something she got joy out of. What she did enjoy was frightening humans by subtly threatening them, appearing as the monster they labeled her as. Teresa was a loner--she had no friends even in the organization, as everyone's respect for the number one rank came with a healthy dose of fear as well. Teresa knows she is powerful and worthy of her rank--there is very little she fears, and it takes a lot to make her lose her cool.
It's easy to call Teresa distant or cold, and that used to be the truth--now it's just a front. Thanks to her interaction with Clare, Teresa is much more open with her emotions. She has a slightly more positive view of humans than she once did, but her instinct still tells her to be wary around them. She believes they're inherently inclined to be hurtful and meets this with amusement and sarcasm. Teresa likes to test people by saying strange things. If they get upset, that's her entertainment and their loss. But Teresa does have the ability to form bonds with others, and once she likes someone, she'll look out for them. She sympathizes with those who were outcast and discriminated against, very much like she was. She doesn't stand for it if she happens to see it.
She's not afraid to let people know what she is. She will flat-out tell someone she is half-monster and half-human, and let them think of her what they wish. She sees herself as more monster than human, but it's not as degrading as it might seem. She knows that she is fully capable of experiencing human emotion. Her human emotions are what keep the monster in check. She doesn't feel sorry for herself and embraces what she is--it's her way of coping.
And she does have a faint smile on her face, 95% of the time. It's out of habit. However, it's only sincere around certain people.
claymores
Edit
Claymores are created by implanting yoma (monster) flesh into the flesh of humans. Yoma have the ability to disguise themselves as humans so that they are nearly untraceable within a community and able to feed freely on humans. Claymores are the only ones able to sense them. The earliest Claymores were male, but they were more difficult to control. Since then, all Claymores have been female, either orphans whose families were killed by yoma, or sold to the organization by villages. Upon having the yoma flesh implanted in their bodies, the girls lose their hair and eye color--becoming blond haired and silver eyed, defining characteristics of hybrids. All also possess some sort of stigma or scar on their abdomen that is ugly and a sign that they should be avoided. They don't actually call themselves Claymores. Humans coined the term from the giant swords they carry.
Many live solitary lives and are feared by humans despite the fact that they cannot kill them. Most live knowing that they will eventually be killed or become monsters. Once a warrior reaches her limit, she has the option of asking a friend to kill her as a human. The more power used, the easier it is for a warrior to lose control. At 10%, eyes change color. At 30%, the face distorts. At 50%, the body. Once a warrior goes past 80% it is generally the end for them and they awaken, becoming the same monsters they were made to hunt.
abilities
Edit
Claymores are numbered from one to forty-seven, the single digits possessing the most power. Teresa was number one--the most powerful Claymore of her time. She rarely had to release over ten percent of her power. While all Claymore can sense yoki, Teresa's ability was unparalleled. Her only visible asset was her smile, earning her the title "Teresa of the Faint Smile." Her ability was so great she could read an opponent's move by paying attention to the energy flow, thus taking action before they had even moved a muscle. This is her loss in Paradisa, but she's still a godmod :| Expect the following if you want to challenge her:
- Enhanced speed, reflexes, and senses: Teresa is fast. Many times, she was able to strike down others without them even registering what she did. Her eyesight, hearing, and sense of smell are enhanced--if you smell like a monster, or something else, she can probably tell.
- Immense strength: Her strength is insane. Humans have a difficult time wielding claymores, a two-handed sword. She can easily hold it with one hand and fight as if it were a feather. Even without releasing any energy, she can twist the hand off of an Awakened Being. She easily took down numbers two through five in the organization. I don't want to think about what it's like over ten percent :|
- Regeneration: She's an offensive type, meaning that her focus is on killing, not protecting herself. However, Teresa can recover from cuts, holes punched through her, and even reattach severed limbs.
- Temperature regulation: Cold and heat don't bother her. She can feel it, but she can also control her own body temperature so that it isn't an issue.
- Lack of dependence on food, water, and sleep: Teresa can go without food and water for a week and be perfectly fine. She tends to eat every few days, and only needs a few bites. Sleep is the same way. She needs all three of these things to live, but just not that often.
- Substance filtering: She can filter whatever enters her bloodstream, such as alcohol. If she wants to get drunk, she can. If she wants to get tipsy, she can. If she wants to be sober, she can. Good luck slipping those roofies into her drink :|
stats
Edit
This is from the organizations records, meaning that this is their estimation of Teresa's powers:
Yoki: S
Agility: A
Strength: A
Willpower: A
Sense: S
Leadership: B
Pretty much, if you walk away from a fight with Teresa? She let you. However, there's a lot she's unfamiliar with, such as guns. She's not going to be picking fights, but she does enjoy spars and gets a thrill anytime something attacks the castle :D; Normally, her speed and strength aren't anything TOO special for a higher ranked warrior--until she released her yoki. But she's hesitant of exerting too much power, since the castle might find it lulzy to make her lose control.

Added by ContinuingCLARE → The little girl that changed Teresa's life. At first, she found the mute girl to be annoying and was not a fan of how she trailed her around. Her tune soon changed when she realized she and Clare weren't as different as she thought. Teresa opened up, becoming openly affectionate towards the little girl that had become her reason to live.
- The first two times Clare was in Paradisa, Teresa wasn't very pleased to see that she had become a Claymore. This third time, however, Clare's appeared as a child--just how Teresa remembers her. She can't speak, but Teresa is just glad to have her and have a second chance at giving her a good life. Warning: messing with Clare will bring Teresa's sword down on your head. See example.
IRENE → An old acquaintance from the organization sent to kill Teresa when she killed humans and avoided execution.
ORSAY → Her handler and link to the organization. He gave Teresa her orders, and Teresa followed them for the most part, though she made sure to never let him know how strong she truly was.
PRISCILLA → The newly appointed number two of Teresa's time. Young and mentally unsound, Teresa spared her when she was sent to take her head. Priscilla had the potential to surpass Teresa due to the way she could hide her yoki. However, when enraged by Teresa, she lost control and awakened. Teresa's second show of kindness to her was going to be to cut off her head--however, Priscilla cut off Teresa's hands before decapitating her.
- While she was in Paradisa before, Teresa wasn't sure to do with her because she had the mind of a child. Eventually, she disappeared. Currently, she's... in the same position again. This time there's a lot more to lose. However, Teresa isn't sure of when Priscilla came from--before becoming a Claymore, before becoming a monster? She's having a moral dilemma, and even if she did kill her, she'd come back in two weeks.
ROSEMARY → The top Claymore before Teresa was promoted. She awakened, sent Teresa her black card, and Teresa took her out. (That's right. She took out an awakened former number one, only releasing ten percent of her power for the lulz.)

Edit
ALICE → Teresa doesn't have too strong of an opinion on Alice yet. However, she finds her... cute and cheerful, though that's a little odd. Her eye color is interesting, and her curiosity about what Teresa is strikes her as strange but sort of amusing.
ALLEN →
ARTHUR → Teresa thinks Arthur is a brat. She really doesn't give a shit about royalty or titles, and she doesn't appreciate the way he speaks about Allen and the way he speaks to Allen. Teresa would troll him harder if... he wasn't somehow Allen's friend. Teresa doesn't really understand it, but eh. Boys. She does wonder how screwed up Arthur is from watching executions. Ohohoho, she hasn't forgotten what she saw during the memory plot.
CLOUD →
GUTS → Complicated. Despite having some very close human friends (who are children, really... Allen included), Teresa doesn't really like human adults. Let alone MALE human adults. So, when Teresa saw this big human guy that bled when she got near and disliked demons, she found a new hobby. Now, she considers him a friend. She gets a kick out of trolling him, and likes asking things that he doesn't want to answer, but she's got his back. If he asked for a favor, she'd do it. And if he went nuts, she'd... stop him, but there would definitely be some hesitation. She loves that he can hold his own against her pretty damn well. Guts is one of her favorite people in Paradisa :) Though she would still kick his ass into another universe if he ever, ever, ever, harmed a hair on Allen, Nill's, or Clare's heads. Intentionally or accidentally.
LAVI →
NILL → Though she hates to admit it, part of the attraction to Nill was because she reminded her of Clare, and she's made the occasional slip. Come on: a cute mute girl, that's super sweet and optimistic despite tons of crap happening to her. But, of course, she knows they're two very different people. Teresa adores Nill to pieces and admires her strength, and if anyone ever messed with her and Teresa found out? She. Would. Destroy. Them. Without hesitation. She's glad Haine is here to take care of her, since Teresa knows Nill missed him :) but she'd still do anything for her and offer her hugs or a place to hide out if need be. Nill is her precious little stray ♥. Teresa loves that Nill is so open and easy to read, even without being able to speak.

trivia
Edit
-
Teresa is rarely in her room. She's usually chillin' n' such outside, in the woods. Her room just holds her possessions. This is a lie. She babysits. - Speaking of possessions, she's getting quite a few! A photo album of her strays, a dress, a nice blanket, a necklace, a joke book, a drawing done by Nill... all are safely stored in that seldom used room!
- She never sleeps laying down. She sits. That's comfortable to her :|
- Had and Eevee during the Pokemon plot. An Eevee plush is now sitting on Teresa's bed.
