BasicsEdit

Name: James Dante

Nicknames: Rookie, Rook, J.D., Lance Corporal

Journal: helljumper

Canon: Halo 3 ODST (Video Game)

Loss: His memories before he was an ODST, for the most part. They're not completely gone, but whenever he tries to recall things from his past it all comes back a little more fuzzy than usual. Sort of like he's looking through an old scrapbook that contains people he's familiar with, but just can't put any names to faces. He can recall important events in his life that made him the person he is today, but they tend to only come to him in very brief flashes and segments. Which, in a way, is an odd twist of fate, since it allows J.D. to get a taste of his own medicine. Being the kind of person who's so use to keeping his personal life a secret from others, rather than from himself.

Personality (wip)Edit

Distant, but never cold or uncaring, is one way to describe how Rookie tends to act around people. He's never one to give off the impression that something is wrong, even if there are moments where it can still seep through his expression and give hints that he isn't as fine as he says he is. Though the fact that he's stubborn about keeping his feelings behind his helmet and not out in the open, however, makes it apparent that his shell is a lot harder to crack if not approached the right way.

Which is why he likes to stick with a more positive light, and do what he does best - lending a helping hand when someone needs it, following orders when they're given and keeping up morale when he isn't quietly observing from the sidelines. He usually tries to be a polite individual, using titles like "ma'am" or "sir" whenever he feels it's needed, and only dropping them when asked or he feels comfortable enough to do so.

In the face of danger, he's fierce and determined. Never giving up until his last breath, and not willing to watch others get hurt so long as he can step in and help. That isn't to say he's careless and not tactical, though. He knows when he's defeated, and will never fight a battle he's one-hundred percent sure he can't win without a very good reason. Although that won't stop him from trying to find ways to switch the advantages around so he can strike when they're least expecting it. That said, he normally isn't very direct in his attacks. ODSTs are meant for stealth, rather than brute force, so he's more likely to keep his distance rather than go in without some kind of plan to back him up.

The fact that he's so use to working in teams, too, also means he prefers having someone else watching his back. It is possible for him to work alone, though. All ODSTs are more than capable of adapting under any situation, but it does help to ease his mind when he has another pair of eyes and ears tagging along with him.

EquipmentEdit

[Redacted.]

VISR systemEdit

VISR or Visual Intelligence System, Reconnaissance is a data management system that is linked to Rookie's helmet. In layman's terms, it's a type of neural network that allows him access to any government-related infrastructures he's got the permission to tap into as well as any wireless networks broadcasting a signal. It also has a multitude of other functions, some of which include:

  • low-light vision
  • the ability to link up with local AIs
  • up to 610MB of space to store videos, pictures, and audio recordings
  • a 3-D map of the area that allows him to track beacons and enemy movement (with AI assistance)
  • a comms channel

Upon arriving at Paradisa, Rookie was given access to CastleNet and a copy of the castle's floor map, as well as a list of Peace Patrol's allies and enemies to use as FOF data. However, only those from the UNSC actually get highlighted in green, so it has become a less reliable method than what he's normally use to.

Green listEdit

  • All Peace Patrol members
  • Anyone he's pretty much on friendly terms with

Red listEdit

  • Those that are currently on the Peace Patrol watchlist

ArmorEdit

[Redacted.]

WeaponsEdit

  • M6C/SOCOM - A UNSC-issued handgun that was on Rookie when he arrived. The magazine for it holds up to a total of twelve rounds. Also has a sound suppressor and muzzle brake (counters recoil) for attachments.
  • M75 Caseless Submachine Gun - Another UNSC-brand weapon that he brought with him upon arrival. The magazine for this gun contains forty-eight rounds and also has a sound suppressor and flashlight attachment.

Important Events in ParadisaEdit

  • 04/27/11 - Arrives in Paradisa.
  • 05/16/11 - Signs up for the Peace Patrol.
  • 06/14/11 - Goes on the Lente's Point Expedition out in the Dead Zone.
  • 06/19/11 → 06/29/11 - Pirate Plot. (Swashbucklin' ODST ftw)
  • 07/13/11 → 08/05/11 - Goes on his first loss ever as a snow leopard.

TriviaEdit

  • 707 room details and items he's acquired in Paradisa here. (Will also flesh out wiki bits later)
