Watchtower - Paradisa Branch

Basis of the Operation Edit
Originally founded when Oliver returned from home, Watchtower was an attempt for Paradisa to have a second place to keep an eye on the activities. Not exclusively to put a stop to villains, but in general to track and monitor activities within the castle and the surrounding areas. Having a decent record of events is always the first step to prevention and even with the Peace Patrol's efforts - it should never be the weight of one team being fully responsible for the resident's safety on a whole.
With this in mind, Oliver recruited Dick Grayson, after a loss had made them better acquainted with each other, to help him in building out the entire structure of the base of operations. Working on the actual interior and trying to maintain that most of the actual construction was built by-hand and without the use of Castle Provided supplies, took far longer than it would have if they just had the castle do it. This was a precautionary measure, just in case the castle decided to revoke things that it had given to people at some unknown future date.
With construction starting in late April (2010), the main floor was completed in mid June and the loft following in July. They were assisted by others during this time, including Lian Harper, who did a fantastic job of decorating one wall with her mural in crayon. Throughout the initial construction of the Tower itself, electrical and computer systems were being installed. All of the computer systems and other technologically advanced items had to be requested from the castle, due to Paradisa's non-tech friendly City stores. Most the equipment was asked for at a basic level and was built to custom needs or added to existing projects. Furnishings for the tower were provided by City Residents and were purchased in order to stimulate their local economy.
Watchtower's main functions went online for testing in early September. Following the world change Watchtower was brought fully online. It is intended as an 'after the fact' data archive for castle events and losses that endanger the population of the castle. While there are times when it is used during an event, it is most likely only done to gather more research since the castle makes it difficult to maintain a stable surveillance system.
The only people who have access to Watchtower are people that Oliver Queen himself has granted access to. The list is small, but that is simply because of his prior experiences with the Watchtower of Smallville and the risks that it involves when you're affiliated with those that want to stop the 'villains' within the city.

Watchtower has a variety of books that have been removed from the library or requested by members during various times while staying in the castle. While the library in Cair Paradisa is much more vast and contains far more books, all of these are at the ready should they be needed.

Watchtower Tracking Edit
All notable Events are listed in order of the most recent at the top. This list will provide any future team that inhabits Watchtower with a good amount of history to events that have occurred within Paradisa. This list only represents the events monitored by Watchtower and it's members as of April (2010 - personal recollections will be added if needed). For any history regarding events taking place prior to these - please consult the journal or eyewitness accounts.
Notable Events Edit
- World Change - Paradisa becomes a standardized American High School. Ten residents remain at their current age and are left to instruct the remainder of the population, who have all been aged to the appropriate school-age. After a week, a water-craving alien takes over a number of the population, seeking to breed and survive.
- World Change - Paradisa becomes a medieval castle, leaving all current amenities behind. Along with dealing with the lack of indoor plumbing, a group of residents became subjected to something that altered their behavior. The acts they committed while under this influence are still concerns of some residents and those that experienced it are still recovering.
- Spiders - Lots of Spiders. A group went off to deal with them.
- Riful - Kidnappings. Ollie took point in the ballroom, with Roy Harper's help, directing teams to search for the missing people. The missing people were located and rescued. There was a large battle that took place against Riful. She is still a resident.
- Food Poisoning - Nightmares. The source of the nightmares was tracked to a hallucinogenic drug that was placed in some of the food in the castle's main kitchen. The nightmares were experienced in varying degrees by a variety of different residents. The person responsible has not been found.
