✗ APPEARANCE
Edit
Zelman is shorter than you'd think (5'7"-ish), which isn't helped by his slouchy posture. Despite this, he exudes a confidence and casual smugness that tends to make people anxious or irritable. He's got the traditional vampire package--pale skin, sharper-than-normal incisors, eyes the color of blood--but the rest of him suggests that he's just some teen punk who can't be bothered to wear nicer shoes. His hair is dyed red, his ears are pierced, and he walks around in stuff like track suits and plain t-shirts. He is rarely seen without his signature black toque on. Despite his weird wardrobe choices, he's said to take, "very good care of his appearance, especially his hair." He smells faintly like smoke, though people sensitive to that sort of thing can probably smell blood.
In the novels (and sort of in the anime series) he's constantly described as being extremely beautiful and supposedly moves in a graceful and noble way. But really, considering how much of what he does intentionally goes against type, your mileage may vary.

✗ PERSONALITY
Edit
Sometimes cold and sometimes kind, Zelman is a difficult person to figure out. His outward persona is essentially a lie he's crafted over the years to be able to interact passingly with other people, and to hide parts of himself that others might use to hurt him. As such, this persona is likely to change a little from person to person, depending on the nature of the interaction. By default, he's arrogant, flighty, and manipulative. He likes picking on people, regardless of whether it's just to joke or to try and seriously hurt them. He obviously holds himself in very high esteem, but is fickle and apathetic towards the rest of the world. He picks up and drops "projects" as quickly as his interests shift, and sees himself above a lot of the silly laws and governance of most humans (though he'll push the envelope with Black Blood rule just as much).

Added by Call Me StickThe truth of the matter is that, underneath all of this, Zelman is a complete sociopath. He's got a limited emotional range, which is why he only really reacts to things with amusement, anger, or a blank neutrality. More complex human emotions and ideas are only known to him in hard fact and theory, because he doesn't experience them for himself. This is why he holds so little regard for others--he knows that he's hurting them, but has no real sense of empathy that would key him in to how it feels to be on the receiving end. He can be extremely dangerous for this reason, but isn't likely to personally put other people in danger unless they're threatening something he deems important or getting in the way of his personal freedom. He's not a big schemer, instead living almost entirely moment to moment. More than anything, he's really just sort of disgusted with other people, which is why he spends so much of his time alone (and is much happier for it).
Zelman's sense of pride stems from his inherited bloodline. His entire life revolves around it, and he follows the old ways of his Blood in much the way a knight would follow his chivalric code. His Blood is said to be defined by chaos, and no other line has had such a fascination with war and conflict. As such, it makes sense that Zelman is always consciously and unconsciously stirring up trouble. War and his bloodline are the only things he truly understands and loves, as they're both virtually unchanging. As Zelman says, there's really nothing else of worth left in the world. He was not particularly fond of it when he started, but eight-hundred years of living has made him absolutely sick and bored with what his world has become. As such, he's waiting for that final conflict, the one where he'll finally meet his death.

✗ HISTORY
Edit
We don't know much about Zelman's past, and since he's been around for eight-hundred years, Zelman himself may be kind of fuzzy on the details. But what we do know is that Zelman's human life was fairly short. He previously lived in Poland in the 13th century during a time of tremendous political upheaval and revolution. Something about him made him the perfect candidate for Asura, Zelman's sire, to come along and turn him into a vampire when he was fifteen or sixteen years old. He lived alongside them for a while, probably not any longer than a century, before Zelman's bloodline was involved in a war to prove their worth. In this war, everyone else in his bloodline was killed in battle. He alone was able to not only survive, but beat out all of his opponents.
So he won all the power, glory, and honor his bloodline could have ever wanted, he got a half-dozen titles expressing how terrifying he was, and he was immortalized in the vampire world forever. But with how exciting the first century of his life was, you can see how he would get pretty bored after that. Sure, he could fight in some wars here and there, but everyone who'd ever been important to him was dead, and his reputation was pretty much permanent. The next seven-hundred years of his life can probably be summed up to bumming around all over Europe, building up a ridiculous fortune, and coming to resent everything around him more and more.
In 1997, this not-so-awesome line of vampires known as the Kowloons showed up. While normally, a vampire has to consciously pass on their line to another through a Kiss of Death, these vampires automatically turned anyone they bit into vampires. Their population grew exponentially, killing thousands. Because of it, humans found out that vampires were real. The Kowloon King was eventually defeated by another vampire named Jirou Mochizuki, and the Kownloon Children were forced back into manageable numbers. The remaining vampires hushed everything up, spread the word that vampires were extinct as a species, and built up a city on an island off the coast of Yokohama, Japan called the "Special Zone". It was supposed to be a secret safe haven where vampires and humans could live peacefully together, unbeknownst to the rest of the world.
Zelman was off somewhere else at the time (I think "Tibet" was mentioned), but he moved to the Special Zone pretty soon after it was started. Once there, he quickly got the attention of some people looking for protection or underhanded ways of getting what they needed. He started gathering them up under one umbrella, eventually turning them into a proper faction known as the Coven. The Coven was nefarious and notoriously lawless, and their presence helped Zelman secure a seat with the higher-ups running the city. No one bothered to tell him no, because he's really fucking scary. The Coven got boring for him pretty fast after that, so he basically ended up ignoring them. Eventually he picked up his personal assistant, Sayuka, who ran his life so that he didn't have to. He toyed around with her feeble human emotions daily. This took up about ten years of his life.
Eventually, Jirou came back to the Special Zone with his little brother, Kotarou. Zelman's blatant disregard of the Coven led to many of them acting freely. Zelman's second-in-command, Auguste, decided that it would be a great idea to fight Jirou and take all the glory that went with defeating him. He was trounced in a few minutes and went home pretty humiliated--but Zelman saw this as a fantastic opportunity. Through Sayuka, he invited Jirou, Kotarou, and Mimiko (their guide) to his mansion to discuss what happened. After an apology and proper introduction, they established an understanding of each other's positions. Jirou and his brother were looking for a house power to stay under. Because Jirou killed the Kowloon King, his very presence caused chaos and disorder in the city. Zelman thought keeping that around would be awesome. Kotarou also interested him, but mostly for his personality. He offered to let them join the Coven, especially if their current allies prove tiring, but Kotarou told him they'd rather fight for justice than on his side. Zelman wasn't too bothered by this--in fact, he expressed that he was excited for the chance to face them as an enemy in the future.
Later, Zelman attended a meeting of the higher Special Zone leaders to figure out what to do about Jirou's presence in their city. They also discussed the possibility of a Kowloon presence in the Special Zone. I can sum up Zelman's part by saying he was vastly unhelpful the whole time, and it was all a couple of them could do to not reach over and smack him. In the middle of things, a panicked Sayuka called up Zelman to say that one of the people Auguste had drained of blood was suddenly alive and going crazy. His bite started a chain reaction, of vampire crazy, which of course led to the immediate conclusion--oh shit, Kowloon Children. Others dealt with the problem, because Zelman is bad at that whole personal responsibility.
Not much more than a day later, Zelman rescued a wandering (and lost) Kotarou from getting roughed up by some gang kids. And what do you do after you save a kid from bullies? Go take him out for ramen and say he owes him one, of course. While they were eating, they talked about Kotarou's concerns with what's been going on in the Special Zone, and Kotarou showed a peculiar level of insight and gut instinct that something really, really bad was going to happen if he didn't help. Zelman was struck by this, and told him why--vampires are supposed to live according to their Blood. When a vampire loses faith and no longer trusts his bloodline, then that bloodline will fall. He urged Kotarou to continue "listening" to his blood, because that's what it truly means to be a vampire. Kotarou took this advice to heart, which might be why Zelman likes the kid so much.
Zelman helped Kotarou track down Mimiko so that she could go sort out what's been going on with Jirou. In the process, he let Kotarou lead him to Cassa, a leader of the new Kowloon Children. Once they crashed her party, Zelman bested Cassa in a quick fight and she admitted there was no way she could win. She also admitted that Coven vampires were, right then, downing Kowloon blood that had been secretly administered throughout the Special Zone. ...And that was kind of a distraction, as you might imagine. Zelman let her go, only really stopping to mention to Kotarou that they should go eat lunch again sometime.
And then Zelman went back to torch the entire Coven mansion, because he couldn't just let those guys run around and bite anything with a heartbeat. But to make up for the fact that he had to do all that work, he decided to catch up with the ensuing battle and threw in a vague attempt at stopping the Kowloon leaders from leaving the Special Zone. He was pleased at their attempts to leave, so he eventually let them go and figured that if the heroes couldn't stop them... well, he'd just poke fun at them for it alter.
Paradisa grabbed him after the Coven had more or less reformed into something substantial, the Special Zone was back to normal, and Zelman'd been dealing with illegal deals from people trying to bargain their way into his protection. And by "dealing with", I mean that he'd been mostly ignoring everything, as per usual.
✗ VAMPIRE STUFF
Edit
abilities
Edit
- Can do all sorts of cool shit with fire. This ability is called "Eye Ignite."
- "Raen" is basically a giant fireball attack. And I do mean giant.
- He keeps his internal temperature pretty warm, so he's like a giant, walking heater. This comes in handy whenever it snows.
- He can control flames that he didn't initially create, which is handy.
- He possesses a sort of hypnotic ability known as "Eye Raid." All vampires possess this ability.
- This ability requires eye contact to initiate, but not to keep it up.
- He can freeze people in their tracks, making almost all movement impossible. Talking is still an option.
- On that same line, he can force people to black out or fall asleep through this ability.
- He can look into a person's mind with this ability, but this is tricky and kind of dangerous for him.
- He has some quick-healing going for him.
- He heals much faster than a human. He can regenerate entire limbs in a few days.
- He can consciously speed up the healing process, but it's hard on his body and uses more energy.
- Alternatively, he can choose to slow or halt his own healing process entirely. If he needed to.
- Backing this up is his entirely high threshold for pain. This guy doesn't know when to quit.
- His senses are all exponentially stronger than a human's.
- Sight wise, he could easily make out Mimiko's figure from half-a-mile away. He can see just fine in the dark. He also has the ability to look only at a person's blood, which works in a manner similar to heat-vision. It's just creepier.
- His sense of smell is particularly strong, and he can track almost anyone by the scent of their blood. Like all Black Blood, he can pick up the scent of any other vampires who've preyed on a someone before (though he has to get all up-close-and-personal to do so).
- He's got good hearing, but heartbeats are particularly easy for him to zero in on. He sometimes abuses this ability and listens on a person's heartbeat to see if they're lying or getting nervous.
- His sense of taste and touch are both incredibly fine-tuned, but there are no particular abilities or tricks attached to them.
- And he has an assortment of other odd abilities that don't fit anywhere else.
- He's got immunity to disease, and is mostly immune to drugs and alcohol.
- Has serious super-strength and ridiculously fast reflexes.
- He's good at appearing out of nowhere and disappearing when you aren't looking.
- He can walk on walls and ceilings. As gravity seemingly means nothing to these guys, he can also jump miles in the air and land from super-long drops without any injury.
- His Blood automatically defends his mind from mental attacks and attempts at control, forcefully pushing outside influences out. It's possible to overcome, but if you aren't expecting it, it'll seriously hurt. Past that, Zelman's mind isn't a particularly nice place to be anyway.
- On top of this, Zelman is so old that he can supposedly "listen" to his bloodline. This almost equates to a sixth sense or a survival instinct--when something is wrong, he just knows. That's why he's so good at picking out dangerous people or knowing when someone is being untrustworthy.
weaknesses
Edit
- There are some things that will irritate him, but are not lethal on their own:
- It doesn't actually hurt him, but running water kind of bothers him on a basic level.
- Sunlight gives him a headache. But that's about it. He just chills out in the shade a lot.
- He gets uncomfortable in churches or other places filled with large amounts of religious faith.
- Garlic makes him kind of sick, but mostly just causes him to complain.
- Crucifixes and other holy objects are really just kind of annoying.
- It's possible to ward an area with your aura so that he can't physically enter without your permission.
- His physical composition is mostly still human, so he's prone to injury just like anyone else.
- And then there's some of the more effective stuff, from least to most harmful:
- Holy water, in particular, will act like a mild to moderate acid against his skin.
- Head-wounds, while not necessarily lethal, could seriously mess him up for a while.
- Because it's too wacky to try and imagine otherwise, decapitation would leave him pretty dead.
- Wounds caused by silver weapons are very difficult for him to heal and literally cause his blood to boil.
omnomnom
Edit
- He could probably go for a good three or four months without blood, but he's indulgent.
- The bite of a vampire in this series is supposed to feel better than sex. Awkward, right?
- The experience of being bitten is highly addictive. For obvious reasons.
- Being bitten will not turn you into a vampire. To be turned, he must willingly feed you some of his blood.
- For whatever reason, the blood of virgins is a great deal more potent than any other kind.
- Considering the nature of Paradisa's residents, weird things might happen with weird blood.
- Resonance is so weird that it gets it's own paragraph. After Zelman drinks another person's blood, their blood is inside of his body. This causes the unusual phenomena wherein whoever was bitten feels as though they are inside of Zelman as well, both in his head and in his skin. Resonance typically lasts an hour, maybe more or less depending on how much blood Zelman took. The level of experience a person shares with Zelman during that time also depends on the individual and what they choose to perceive and what Zelman decides to force upon them. While the person has full access to Zelman, it does not work vice-versa. Zelman is still completely independent of the person, and gets no insight into said person's mind or actions. If the person is drained of blood to the point of passing out, they may experience strange dreams along the lines of the effects of resonance, or you can choose to have them forgo the experience entirely with a dreamless sleep. A person can experience any combination of the following:
- Physical effects. Not only will they be seeing through Zelman's eyes, hearing everything he hears, and feeling like they're moving when Zelman is moving, they will gain insight into the experience of being a Black Blood--and an unreasonably powerful one, at that. All the physical traits in this section are examples of how one might feel when their blood is resonating within him. It's possible that a person's physical body will sometimes move to match whatever Zelman is doing, and a person's senses may switch back and forth between what they are perceiving and what Zelman is perceiving. While they are linked, they will be able to feel any pain that Zelman feels as if it were their own.
- Emotional effects. The person who's blood is in Zelman's veins would be able to tell where Zelman is for the entire resonance, regardless of the distance put between them. They would be able to feel his emotions, which is a little frightening, considering he has very few. Those few are strong, though, and his intense hatred or cruelty could become overwhelming. On the flip-side, if he is happy, or if he enjoys something, a person could gain insight into why it makes him happy. Perhaps the most useful out of this is that a person would be able to easily tell whether or not Zelman is lying when he speaks to them or to other people (and protip: he usually is).
- Mental effects. Should someone choose to be brave, they can listen to his thoughts. He thinks in a bizarre mash-up of old dialects and abstract fragments, which might drift in and out of actually making any discernible sense. A person can sift through his memories and may get visions of what he is planning or remembering at any given time. Though he can't hear what said person is thinking, he can bring up particular thoughts, images, or memories for others to see while the resonance is in effect. He often does this to try and drown out the effects of resonance when he doesn't want a particular person trying to trudge through his disturbing and twisted mind to try and figure him out.
other stuff
Edit
- A full moon supposedly makes him a little more powerful.
- He doesn't have a heartbeat. The whole stake through the heart thing is useless on him.
- If he looses blood or a limb or something, it will quickly turn to ash.
- He doesn't have to breathe, though it's kind of needed if he wants to be able to talk.
- He's naturally nocturnal, and tends to laze around a lot more in the daytime.
- He shows up in mirrors and photographs just fine. He's a photogenic vampire.
- And although it would be hilarious, he cannot turn into a bat.
✗ RELATIONSHIPS
Edit
canon
Edit
- Asura → His sire. Zelman can't have spent more than a hundred years with the guy before he was killed in battle. Very little is known about him aside from his title, "War God," and the fact that Zelman believes very much that a vampire should trust his bloodline. I like to think that Zelman honestly looked up to and admired this man, and strives to stay true to his Blood.
- Cassa → The "Black Snake". She was an interesting piece in the larger game, and he decided to poke around in her business a little. Despite her involvement in trying to start a second Kowloon Shock, she barely deserves a second thought in the grand scheme of things. She showed up in Paradisa once, but Zelman isn't really worried about her showing up a second time.
- Jirou → Zelman would love to do something with him--either getting him to ally with the Coven (mostly useless in Paradisa) or just to face him in battle. Other than those two options, though, he's mostly useless and not worth much thought. In Paradisa especially, his name would hold no weight.
- Kotarou → He quickly grew to like this kid. He's polite, speaks his mind, and understands a lot of Zelman's higher and more philosophic talks. Zelman cares little about what Alice was like (even though he's met her in Paradisa), which is probably why he gets along with Kotarou so easily. He's been in and out of Paradisa twice, so Zelman is a little wary of the idea of him showing up again.
- Sayuka → Zelman's personal assistant. Thanks to his loss, he didn't remember her at all the first time she showed up. He was able to get mostly reintroduced to her, but he still has a lot of doubts, and constantly wonders what it is about her that made her so important that the castle deemed fit to take her away. What he doesn't quite know is that she was the only one he liked enough to consider turning to his bloodline back home.
- Sei → He doesn't particularly like Sei. This only grew when he showed up in Paradisa while Zelman was going through kind of a transitional period. Sei is basically the opposite of Zelman--polite, selfless, and honest--and always finds ways to ruin Zelman's fun. However, he's far more powerful than Zelman will ever be, and Zelman does have a small amount of respect for someone who's lived longer than he has.
paradisa
Edit
I'm really terrible at keeping up with who he's talked to, so if you don't see your character's name here and want them to be included, feel free to let me know! Otherwise I'll hopefully remember eventually.
people who are important
Edit
- Goldfish → They've known each other for four years. During that time they've both gone through a lot together and grew into the world of Paradisa side-by-side. They've done everything from sharing their hideous, recorded memories with each other to nearly ritualizing Friday night burger-and-milkshake outings. Though Zelman will argue with and pick on Asuka whenever he gets a chance, the truth of the matter is that Asuka has become a permanent fixture in his life. She's one of the only people who know what he's really like, and he likes having someone around he can speak to openly and honestly about it, even if she won't completely understand. She could turn into a huge weak point in his defenses, but she gives him a sort of strength he needs to exist in Paradisa beyond the way he existed in his own world--she gives him purpose and a reason to live in a place where his previous lifestyle would have no meaning. They both know that someone will inevitably end up miserable, but for right now, they're happier being friends.
- Śmierć → There are two parts to their relationship. The first part is "Pharos", who Zelman's become rather fond of. He reminds him a little of Kotarou, but Pharos is easier to relate to because of his somewhat poor opinion of humans and his limited grasp of human emotions. Pharos is polite, easy to impress, and seems to genuinely enjoy spending time with Zelman, all of which makes Zelman's side of the interaction nearly effortless. The second part is "Death", which is the reason that he so easily opens up to Pharos. Zelman's been surrounded by death his entire life, and is more fixated on it than most. As such, he considers death to be more of an old friend than anything. He trusts him with personal matters and opinions, and knows that Pharos can understand him on a level that most others can't manage. Though he might use Pharos to his advantage just as he would with anyone else, death is one of the only powers that he considers higher than himself. He believes it is truly an honor to be able to call such a person his "friend", and appreciates everything that Pharos offers him, especially the promise that he'll be there when his life finally ends.
people of definite interest
Edit
- Galadriel → He likes Galadriel. A lot. She's pretty, smart, polite, an excellent conversationalist, and reminds him of earlier years that he liked a hell of a lot better than his current ones. That said, he also hates that he likes her. He doesn't trust her, doesn't like what she knows about him, and can't stand the fact that she probably pities him. He knows she can be just as manipulative as he is, and that's trouble. But she's just too much fun to keep away from bothering her.
- Legato → Zelman hates Legato a lot more than he hates most people. They turned out to be incompatible, for lack of a better word, as allies. They have differing goals and motivations (or lack thereof), and they have both made it unmistakably clear that they can and will do everything in their power to make the other miserable if they feel it is necessary. But somewhere under that, Zelman also... "likes" isn't the right word, and neither is "respects", but he perhaps appreciates something about Legato that keeps him just a little invested and hoping that he'll prove interesting in the future.
- Majaczenie → She's a strange one, to say the least. There's something rather funny about being on good terms with the physical incarnation of delirium. Sometimes she's cute, sometimes she's a little annoying, sometimes she exists as little more than a sounding board for his own thoughts. But he doesn't dislike her, rather finding her more helpful and interesting than most.
people he distinctly hates
Edit
- Clark → He hasn't really talked to this guy in ages, but that doesn't change the fact that he can't stand this guy. He's optimistic, very "good guy", and it never fails to get on Zelman's nerves. The most frustrating thing about him is that, while he has the potential to be a lot of fun, he is either inhumanly stubborn or just immune to being annoyed. Zelman can't get a rise out of him, and that's the only reason he'd bother otherwise.
- Jr. → Another overly righteous person who threatens to take him down. To be honest, Zelman's disliking Jr. is mixed with a sort of interest and excitement--this is the kind of person he likes to be enemies with, because he provides a challenge and actually has a lively reaction to things. Their next meeting is already long overdue, and he's curious to see whether or not this guy'll still hold the same opinion of him as he did months ago.
- Vergil → He was never really all that fond of Vergil at the best of times, but after getting to be such good friends with his brother, Zelman can barely stand him. That is, of course, why he fully intends to pester him into oblivion. It makes him feel better. The only thing this guy is really good for is a fight, and don't worry--he's working his way up to that.
people of much less importance
Edit
- Allen → A good guy, but Zelman likes him a lot more than he likes any of the other ones. They were on the same side while Riful was still around, but as for what Zelman thinks of him now... it's yet to be decided.
- Apostle → His opinion on Joshua really varies. The kid is smart, but childish. He's persuadable, but unpredictable. Zelman thinks he's made a handful of both good and bad choices. All in all, though, he has absolutely no interest in the Joshua without his horns--he prefers the dangerous one, even if it poses more risk to himself.
- Batgirl → There's something vaguely fascinating about people who consciously dress up in costume and fight crime. He doesn't think she's even remotely threatening, though she's tried to be. Might try bothering her later to see if he gets anything out of it.
- Dainn → A shadow being that has interesting opinions. They've only really spoken a couple of times, but Zelman is interested in speaking to him again when he gets the chance.
- Felix → Once upon a time, they were casual acquaintances. Then there was that Christmas incident where Zelman bit him and drained some of his blood. Now Felix seems hesitant to talk to him... I can't imagine why. Now Zelman thinks it's hilarious to mess with him, and he thinks he might be able to rope himself something of a blood donor in the process. Heh, sucker.
- Hawke → The storytime woman. She's funny, sarcastic, and really good looking to boot... So he doesn't mind snatching her up for drinks every once in a while.
- John → They failed at making ring-pop ice cream. Yeah.
- Lucrezia → So cute! On the one hand, he recognizes her out of history--and that's just hilarious, considering all the things she was wrapped up in. On the other hand, she's easy to flatter and just kind of adorable. He thinks she could be a lot of fun to mess with in future conversations.
- Lucy → Funny, she's been around longer than he has, but they've never really spoken much. He thinks she's kind of interesting, but is mostly testing around to see what she's really like. At the very least, he can recall that she used to be entangled in quite a bit of old castle drama.
- Maladict → Probably one of the strangest vampires he's ever met. He isn't sure about her morals, her coffee-drinking, or her general avoidance of womanly things. But he does know she's as big a troll as he is, which is hilarious. They may be competing in a mutual but never-spoken-about competition to see who can out-troll the other.
- Ray → He has never met someone who manages to be so intelligent, have such potential, and be so obnoxious at the same time. He has little respect for Ray's crazy science stuff, and would... really... be fine if he never talked to him again. But he hasn't closed himself to the possibility that Ray might be helpful, or at least get shit done if prodded in the right direction.
- Rin → They previously had sort of a tentative hatefriendship thing going on, but Rin probably hates him with the fury of a thousand suns right now. So that's a thing.
- Scientist → Sarcastic, conceited, but not a terrible conversationalist. He can be annoying at times, but his smarts are a fair trade-off. Zelman's punched him in the face before, so that's something. This is one of those people he thinks he'd like to bother more, but then changes his mind as soon as he starts talking to him.
- Uru → She's so... weird. While it's always fun to freak her out a little bit, he's trusted her to stay with Pharos for a while and knows he can depend on her to not do anything underhanded. He doesn't really understand why and how she's so nice, and wonders what it takes to get her to stop.
- Veidt → Interesting guy, very smart, strangely concerned about things that Zelman wouldn't have immediately labeled him for. They haven't spoken much, but he has the feeling they'll definitely be speaking again in the future.
- Weather Girl → He kind of delights in knowing what's going on in Faye's head. It's kind of a hobby, much to Faye's chagrin. Delving into her psychological state aside, he also thinks she stands pretty well in normal conversations, and they've had their fare share of interesting twists and turns.
- Witch → He liked her a lot, but then she ditched Paradisa to go run around in the Dead Zone. He doesn't expect her to come back any time soon. Despite all that, he still doesn't dislike her, though--she understands why she did it, and kind of... weirdly... proud that she did. You go, crazy witch girl.
✗ THE MANSION
Edit
Zelman collects expensive houses like most people collect stamps or bottle caps, so the castle saw fit to bring one of his mansions from the Special Zone to Paradisa for Christmas. It's located a ways west of the City Royal, and is about a thirty minute walk away from the castle proper. There's a courtyard, a garden, approximately two-hundred and fifty rooms full of expensive stuff, and maids who don't have to clean up nearly as many bloodstains as they used to. And there's a Coke machine in there somewhere.
There's always a vacant room, and the mansion begs to be explored, so if a character were to ever wander along... it wouldn't be unusual. Feel free to contact me if you ever want your character to show up, get lost, hide in there, steal some stuff, wander around aimlessly, try to use the coke machine, drop by on a visit, or whatever you'd like!

- Zelman, since he owns the place. He now has two cats, but he's not sure how that happened.
- Asuka, who is responsible for PenPen and her Evangelion (parked out back).
- Pharos, who's only responsible for the frog (which hasn't died yet, somehow).
✗ ETCETERA
Edit
- His hair is dyed. He's actually blond. Oh, the lies just never end with this guy.
- He's not a huge fan of drinking, unless it is, of course, drinking blood.
- Always has cigarettes on him, but usually only smokes outside or really bored.
- Drinks Coke Cola like it's going out of style. Pepsi is merely okay.
- Any use of honorifics with him is purely for the sake of irony or teasing (i.e. Cain-kun).
- He often refers to people by their titles, and if none are available, nicknames.
- He's prone to using weird slang in even the most professional of conversations.
- His TV watching includes the news, professional wrestling, and action movies.
- He like to toy around with dominoes and abuses the fact that the castle will give him as many as he wants.
- Zelman was given a cat (Tiger) and kind of inherited another kitten (Nev).
- He had a Charizard during the Pokemon plot, but now it's a
cat toyplush toy. - He gets bored and learns new languages for fun. He also really digs history and folk stories.
- He can and will take naps in weird places, like up in trees or on stacks of crates.
- He can't stand formal dress at all. Getting him into a tuxedo is nearly impossible.
- Nancy gave him a charmed crosshair necklace for prosperity and wealth, which he does wear sometimes.
" Our true essence is our Blood. The Blood we inherit endlessly is the truth behind Black Blood. It is difficult to hear its voice, but when you've wandered off your path, it's not wrong to clear your mind and listen to the blood flowing within. Your blood will not betray you. The Bloodline will end when one can't trust his blood anymore.
Believe in your blood, okay? That is how we, the Black Blood, should truly be. "
